“Peyton helped me with a few midday walks for my 15 month old dog. She is a clear communicator, asked what expectations I had & provided pictures and updates throughout each of her visits. My dog can be a little skittish with strangers but he immediately warmed up to her. Highly recommend Peyton!”

About: I can't remember a time without a furry (or occasionally aloof, whiskered) friend by my side. I literally came home from the hospital to a wagging tail — my family's dog was my first welcome committee, and honestly, it's been downhill ever since. In the best way. I've shared my home with cats who ran the place like tiny CEOs, and two dogs who kept me on my toes and taught me more about patience than any human ever has. If you've got a dog who needs zoomies and belly rubs, or a cat who'll deign to acknowledge my existence on her own schedule, I speak both languages fluently. I'm also a proud supporter of the Santa Barbara Humane Society — animals have given me enough joy over the years that giving back isn't optional, it's just what you do. When you leave your pet with me, you're not getting a stranger who "loves animals" in the vague, profile-filler kind of way. You're getting someone who will send you the update photos, learn your dog's weird quirks or your cat's exact opinion of strangers, and treat your critter like my own — because that's the whole job. As someone who's self-employed, I have the flexibility to give your pets the time and attention they deserve. I recently said goodbye to my beloved companion, and while I'm not quite ready to welcome a new furry friend into my own home yet, caring for other people's pets has been incredibly meaningful. It keeps me connected to what I love most while giving me the chance to shower someone else's best friend with all the love and care they need. I live in a cozy casita with a secure, fenced patio area—perfect for outdoor playtime and fresh air. Since I work from home, I'm around throughout the day, which means your pet gets plenty of companionship and supervision. I'm also an active person who loves getting out, so regular walks to the park, beach, or around downtown are part of my routine. Your furry friend will get both the comfort of a home environment and the adventure of exploring Santa Barbara's best spots.
“Cheryl was great with coco, we did and meet and greet before our date walk and that helped a lot since I hadn’t had that with anyone else, it sure made me happy to know the person before. Cheryl is very caring and made sure that coco had enough food and water before she left. I would definitely book her again.”

I’m active and outdoorsy, so I’m always happy to go on walks and adventures, but I’m just as happy hanging out at home, playing, or keeping your pet company while they relax. In my free time, I love surfing, working out, going to the beach, and camping.. so being outside is definitely my happy place! About: Hi my name is Melissa! I’m a lifelong dog lover and proud owner of a 7-year-old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix. Raising and caring for my own dog has taught me so much about patience, consistency, and understanding each dog’s unique personality. I’ve also worked with him through dog training, so I’m familiar with positive reinforcement techniques and basic training tools that help keep dogs happy, engaged, and well-behaved. In addition to caring for my own pup, I’m the go-to dog sitter for my cousins, family, and friends whenever they’re out of town. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, feeding, sticking to routines, or simply providing companionship, I genuinely enjoy making sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. What sets me apart is the level of care I give every dog. I don’t see pet sitting as just a job I treat every dog like they’re my own. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I make it my priority to provide dependable, attentive, and loving care. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages, follow your dog’s routine closely, and make sure they receive plenty of exercise, affection, and one-on-one attention. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family member! I am available in the mornings or afternoons. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I already care for my own 7-year-old dog every day, so adding walks, playtime, feeding, and lots of attention for other pets is something I truly enjoy. I have a flexible schedule outside of work and make it a priority to give every pet the time, care, and attention they deserve. I care for every pet as if they were my own. As a dog owner of 7 years, I understand how important routine, patience, and safety are. I follow each pet’s normal schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions while making sure they feel comfortable and loved. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know how your pet is doing.

About: I've always had a deep love for dogs, having grown up with them. Unfortunately, my current living situation doesn’t allow for a pet. However, I’ve had the privilege of caring for friends and family’s dogs, ranging from weekly to monthly stays. I’ve even spent nights at their homes to ensure their pets are well-cared for. I am newly retired and love taking walks at the beach, park, and around the neighborhood. I would enjoy animal companionship to keep me company. I’ve cared for dogs in various living situations, including those who sleep in crates or inside the home. I’m comfortable working remotely on a laptop, allowing me to spend time outdoors or in a separate room, minimizing disruption to the dog’s routine.
About: Hi, my name is Basilia, I also go by Juno. I have grown up around dogs all my life. I have experience house/dog sitting for my friends and neighbors in high-school, and even more experience taking care of my families big dogs. Further, I have some experience taking care of senior dogs, as my late Akita spent nearly 5 years on intensive medication. I love playing with dogs, taking them on walks, going to the dog park, and making life good in the safety of their own homes. I’m a student at Santa Barbara City College, but my flexible schedule allows me to spend plenty of time with your animals! I have at least 2-4 hours a day available to spend playing with, walking, or otherwise taking care of your babies. I prioritize pet safety in my care. I listen carefully to your rules about where the animal is/isn’t allowed to go, and can provide intensive support for your animals. I make sure to spend time building trust with the animal using treats or soothing methods upon meeting them, so that they feel safe and comfortable around me.

About: Taking care of both dogs and cats is something that I have loved doing since I was a young teen. I have also volunteered abroad working at animal shelters in other countries. I feel really passionate about giving them the proper love and care they deserve! I am currently working 8-4pm on weekdays but anytime after that I am free to care for your pets! I will also be free on the weekends! I wouldn’t be able to take care of your pets in my residence, but I would absolutely love to watch over them at yours while you are away!

“Bekah has been so great for our family! Raven, our very energetic lab puppy needs lots of attention and exercise. Bekah comes super prepared for each walk and even cleans her off before bringing her back home, if Raven gets into a mud puddle ect. She is very loving to Raven and does a great job with her. I would highly recommend Bekah for any pet sitting or walking needs.”
About: I've been taking care of animals since I was 15. I’ve taken care of both senior dogs, and puppies. My family has a rescue dog (that I don't live with at the moment), and was raised taking care of her in all seasons of life. I work from home most days. I live close to a walking trail and near a park that I would be happy to take your pet to for the bathroom and to let off some energy. My apartment is clean and has a fenced in balcony. I live near several green spaces and large fields where dogs are welcome to run around, let out energy, or go to the bathroom. I also live near lots of walking trails. I am familiar with crating but am happy to have your pet roaming the house if that is preferred.

Peyton helped me with a few midday walks for my 15 month old dog. She is a clear communicator, asked what expectations I had & provided pictures and updates throughout each of her visits. My dog can be a little skittish with strangers but he immediately warmed up to her. Highly recommend Peyton!

Matthew was absolutely amazing with my dog, Leo, while I was away in Switzerland! He was incredibly attentive and made me feel completely at ease knowing Leo was in such good hands. He sent me lots of photos and updates, which I really appreciated while being so far away, and he was also super flexible and accommodating with my schedule. Leo was happy and well cared for when I got home. I would absolutely trust Matthew with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

Claire has been absolutely amazing. While my-now-wife and I were getting married, Claire was able to babysit our dog. We wanted to include him in our wedding photos so Claire was generous enough to care for him during our photoshoot. She’s kind, patient, and understanding of our nervous dog. She’s really sweet and gentle with our dog too. We can’t recommend her enough! We would give her 10 out of 5 stars if we could.

Nicole has been SUCH a wonderful dog walker and help to me. She is so consistent and reliable and has great communication. She gives my dog so much love and attention and has gone above and beyond for her (and I) multiple times. I can’t recommend Nicole enough! We are sad to be leaving the area and wish we didn’t have to stop working with Nicole!!

Ruby loved Aubrey! So did we. She was super responsive as we set this up and sent us a detailed report (snd photos) during & after the walk. Sometimes our neighbors say that Ruby won't walk for them, but Aubrey had the magic vibe & Ruby enthusiastically walked with her. We would hire Aubrey again in a heartbeat.

Keiko arrived on time and ready to walk! Randall was a little hesitant to take off with a stranger and leave mom but that lasted until he got around the corner and they were off and walking. She arrived back on time and Randall was happy and tired. Glad we found Keiko

Ariana was a wonderful sitter with for my Figgy! She was very communicative and flexible with my schedule. I would 100% reschedule with her! She took so many pictures of Figgy having fun! She was a very good companion for my fur baby! She took her to the beach and gave her lots of love! Very grateful for Ariana!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
