About: My two children and I love animals & meeting new people. For over 5 years, we’ve cared for dogs of all ages and personalities—from soothing anxious seniors to matching the playful energy of bouncy puppies. Every pup brings us joy, and we love welcoming them into our lives as if they were part of our family. I’m the perfect sitter for families who appreciate a steady routine. I’m usually up before sunrise & to bed before 11pm- I can keep your pets’ schedule consistent & stress-free. Outside of pet care, I work as a consultant so I’m around most of the day to give them plenty of company, love, and attention. If your furry friend enjoys car rides or outings, they’re welcome to join me when I shuttle my kids to activities- my kids & I also enjoy morning & late afternoon/evening walks. Caring for your pet—and your home—while you’re away is my top priority. To give you peace of mind, I’ll keep you updated in whatever way feels best for you: a daily journal, phone call, text updates, or email with photos. You’ll always know your pet is happy, comfortable, and receiving the unique care they deserve.
About: Since my early childhood, I've nurtured a profound fascination with animals, which began when I used to visit my papa's ranch and assist him in caring for dogs, horses, lambs, and various other animals. This passion persisted as I ventured into horseback riding and my family welcomed our first golden retriever. Presently, my devotion to dogs has reached new heights as I have a Golden Retriever of my own, not just a family pet. She has become my dearest companion, best friend, and daughter. I first met her as a puppy and after a few times playing with her, knew she was mine. Along the way, I've happily taken on the role of pet-sitter for numerous friends' dogs and cats. I firmly believe that pets deserve nothing but the utmost care and affection, and I can see how the love they receive is beautifully reflected in their demeanor. Thanks to my keen intuition and ability to connect rapidly with dogs, some of my friends even refer to me as the "dog whisperer." I am currently in between jobs and have a pretty open schedule. I start my job mid July and will be available weekends and occasional nights then. As a dedicated dog babysitter, I want to assure you that your beloved furry friend's safety is my utmost priority. I am a responsible and reliable caregiver who takes the time to understand each dog's unique needs and preferences. My commitment to your pet's well-being means they will receive the love, attention, and care they deserve while you are away. I will strive to create a nurturing and stress-free environment for your dog, ensuring they feel comfortable and happy during our time together.
About: I’ve had animals in my life since I was born. I’ve had bunnies and cats and fish and dogs and birds. I’ve learned great ways to meet each of these animals with gentle and respectful care. I primarily work Monday-Wednesday 11am-8pm. I’m much more available in the evenings and weekends to take care of beloved pets. Pet walks would be most accessible on Thursdays-Sundays. I do not offer pet care in my home, I don’t have pets because I live in a very tiny apartment and know that’s not conducive for their wellbeing. In my client’s home, I show the utmost respect and care for their items, animal care needs and I triple check that I leave everything clean and locked.
About: I am a complete dog lover and have taken care of dogs for family and friends ever since I was a kid. A few years ago when I began working remotely and had more time to dedicate, I got a dog of my own. Sawyer is a 45lb Portuguese Pointer. He is 6 years old but still a puppy at heart. Sawyer loves to play with other dogs, cuddle and go to the beach. I work from home and have lots of time in between meetings where I can be available to play with the pups and/or take them on walks! I can be flexible based on each dogs needs but it is standard that I walk Sawyer in the morning when we wake up, around lunch time, at the end of the work day, and before bed. I have a camera roll filled with doggy photos so you can be sure to expect daily updates and pictures while your pup is in my care 😊 Sawyer loves other dogs and would be thrilled to have a friend to play with or cuddle. I have a fenced in courtyard where I can work and let the dogs lay outside. For walks we usually go around town on the sidewalks or down to the park/beach that is nearby our home. Please reach out if you have any questions!

About: Hello, I am an experienced dog sitter located in beautiful Carpinteria. I offer overnight care along with a nature hike (included free of charge). Your dog will be staying with me in your home after a fun a day on exercise. I have plenty of references to assure you of your dogs comfort and well being while you are away. If you need a loving hand with your pup while away on a vacation and hope they are having fun too, please send me a message. Also, I have no cats or children, I know some dogs have special needs so no worries there if your pup is one of them. Thanks and hope to hear from you, Have a great day! I am available to spend time with your pups on group hikes during the day and loads of snuggles on the couch at night :) I keep your pet secure by always keeping a close eye on them when outside in the yard or on the trail. I have over 15 years experience and never lost a dog :)
About: I received my MS degree in Human Canine Life Sciences last year. I have studied everything from genetics, domestication, breeding and legal regulations for canines, to the untapped potential of their abilities, the complexities of their emotional lives and the world of assisted therapy and facility dogs. I also recently completed a two-week workshop on training service animals. I have fostered and volunteered for 18 years and ran a dog walking business during college. I am a wealth of information about animals and a well of pure love that will never run dry. I can assess if there are health issues and make recommendations if you want to have that conversation. I also crock"pet" whole food dog food and can advise you on nutrition too, if that's of interest. I am highly sensitive to animals and their needs and moods and comfortability. I have two highly reactive large breeds and can handle dogs on leash in any situation (and won't put myself in one that I can not). I really want to be an advocate for all animals and be a positive part of your lives, whether it's a one time walk or everyday. I'm also here to talk about your pets with you and I will send from zero to a zillion photos and messages- whatever makes you feel good. I can promise you my full attention and so much crazy love for your mates. I am a writer and I also produce and act in the theatre. Most of the time, unless I am in rehearsal, I work from home with a highly flexible schedule. If I'm not home, I'm probably sneaking across the street (when my dawgos aren't looking) stealing snugs and offering the occasional greenie to the dogs on my block. They're sooooo nice, they kill me. I'm hugely attentive and I enjoy it all: a rambunctious playful dude, a senior who just wants belly rubs and snoogs, and the process of gaining the trust of a dog who may need some time and space at first. All of it. I pay attention. I'm with your pets to provide care, love and my presence, not just clock in and out. I feel a responsibility to the well-being of animals (and am honored to have that responsibility) because I have so much education and experience. The time I spend is quality and mindful and I'm truly grateful for it.
“Monika was absolutely fabulous. She was loving with my dog and took great care of her. She was a terrific communicator as well. Would definitely have her take care of my dog again.”

“Cheryl did a great job of caring for and exercising our 4 year old lab from our Montecito Airbnb. Carley instantly liked her and was nice and tired when we returned. Cheryl was an excellent communicator and working with her was a breeze. Carley seemed quite pleased as well. I highly recommend her.”

About: Hi my name is Melissa! I’m a lifelong dog lover and proud owner of a 7-year-old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix. Raising and caring for my own dog has taught me so much about patience, consistency, and understanding each dog’s unique personality. I’ve also worked with him through dog training, so I’m familiar with positive reinforcement techniques and basic training tools that help keep dogs happy, engaged, and well-behaved. In addition to caring for my own pup, I’m the go-to dog sitter for my cousins, family, and friends whenever they’re out of town. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, feeding, sticking to routines, or simply providing companionship, I genuinely enjoy making sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. What sets me apart is the level of care I give every dog. I don’t see pet sitting as just a job I treat every dog like they’re my own. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I make it my priority to provide dependable, attentive, and loving care. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages, follow your dog’s routine closely, and make sure they receive plenty of exercise, affection, and one-on-one attention. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family member! I am available in the mornings or afternoons. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I already care for my own 7-year-old dog every day, so adding walks, playtime, feeding, and lots of attention for other pets is something I truly enjoy. I have a flexible schedule outside of work and make it a priority to give every pet the time, care, and attention they deserve. I care for every pet as if they were my own. As a dog owner of 7 years, I understand how important routine, patience, and safety are. I follow each pet’s normal schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions while making sure they feel comfortable and loved. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know how your pet is doing.
About: Dogs have been part of my family my whole life. I grew up with terriers, and often cared for my friends Great Danes and labs. Extra Large breeds have always held a special place in my heart. 5 years ago I brought home my first Great Dane puppy, Moku. At around 2 years old Moku developed Epilepsy. His seizures were always grand mal, and went through different phases of frequency and severity over the past couple of years. I spent the past 2 years doing everything I possibly could to help keep his seizures under control and make sure he was generally healthy and living a high quality life. After more unexplained health complications, countless blood tests, ultra sounds, CT scans, etc- we realized that Moku had a rare and incurable Neuromuscular condition. He passed away in April 2023, just days after his diagnosis. All that to say- I am now very comfortable with caring for special needs dogs of all sizes, emergency situations, administering medications on a strict schedule, and loving our furry family members through the hardships. I have experience in puppy training and senior dog care as well :) My current work schedule is as follows- so please be aware if the timing conflicts with your pets needs as I will be away from your pet during these times. Monday 8:30-3:00 Thursday 10:30-5:00 Saturday 8:30-3:00 Sunday 10:00-5:30 This depends on the client and what services they are requesting. We can discuss how you take care of your pet at home and what you hope for me to do. Regardless, your pet will be well loved and supervised.
About: Lots of experience with dogs, cats, farm animals, reptiles, rodents, and more. II've taken care of everything from puppies to seniors, and dachshunds to wolf hybrids. Your pets are always safe with me! I'm a student at SBCC and am taking a couple summer courses that allow me to work from anywhere. I have a very flexible schedule and can do whatever is needed! I have lots of experience housesitting, dog walking, and doing drop-by visits. I've always been very in tune with how animals are feeling and am often very able to tell what they need.
About: I was a nanny over the last several years and always easily got acquainted with whichever household pets came with my jobs. I am confident with animals and easily make a connection. I am gentle and kind and I’ve never had had a problem with any animals, I have run into or cared for. I currently just moved back to Santa Barbara and do a little pet sitting already. But I’m looking to expand my platform. I have an open schedule and want to have a Part-time job that I enjoy doing. I am happy to provide, whichever services are needed per sitting. If that means, it’s a walk, feeding, overnight, just some friendly attention or etc, I am more than happy to provide anything.
About: I've had dogs my whole life. Growing up we had a mix, then a German Shepherd. As an adult, we had an Australian Shepherd for 16 years. He grew up with our children and is sorely missed. I have experience caring for and administering medications. I love playing and walking dogs, I especially like hikes and walks on the beach. I work part time so my hours and days are flexible. My availability allows should allow plenty of time to take special care of your pet. I have a fenced yard and baby gates in my kitchen, so if home care is needed it is possible that I may care for your pet in my home.

“Bekah has been so great for our family! Raven, our very energetic lab puppy needs lots of attention and exercise. Bekah comes super prepared for each walk and even cleans her off before bringing her back home, if Raven gets into a mud puddle ect. She is very loving to Raven and does a great job with her. I would highly recommend Bekah for any pet sitting or walking needs.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
