“Thankful for Benjamin and fitting us into his schedule for a last-minute dog-walking booking. He took great care of our dog and was easy to communicate with. About: I've always had animals and love them all. I've cared for dogs, cats, birds, fish, small animals, reptiles, and horses. My passions are rescue and bringing out the best in the scared and anxious pets I deal with in shelter and hospital. My other jobs are extremely flexible and allow me to make my own schedule, which means more availability to volunteer at shelters and care for your babies. I have 1 friendly small dog and 3 cats. My home is their sanctuary. We do frequent walks and trips to trails and beaches. I prefer to let the furbabies snuggle with us, but I have crates up to XL available if needed.

About: I've been taking care of animals since I was 15. I’ve taken care of both senior dogs, and puppies. My family has a rescue dog (that I don't live with at the moment), and was raised taking care of her in all seasons of life. I work from home most days. I live close to a walking trail and near a park that I would be happy to take your pet to for the bathroom and to let off some energy. My apartment is clean and has a fenced in balcony. I live near several green spaces and large fields where dogs are welcome to run around, let out energy, or go to the bathroom. I also live near lots of walking trails. I am familiar with crating but am happy to have your pet roaming the house if that is preferred.
About: I’m reliable and trustworthy, with experience caring for a variety of pets, from small dogs to active 1-year-old labs, as well as cats and chickens. I’ve watched multiple pets at the same time and can handle different needs, including giving medication or keeping up with high-energy animals. I’ve been watching pets since high school and grew up around dogs and cats, so being around animals comes naturally. I’m responsible, patient, and caring, and I make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m a full-time working professional with a very flexible schedule that will allow me to drop in during the day or work from home if an all day shift is needed. Depending on my schedule I may be available for short notice requests and I don’t mind same day cancellation as long as there is no travel involved. I try to treat pets like family, giving them attention, patience, and care so they feel safe and comfortable. Every animal is different, so I adjust to their personality. Whether that is lots of playtime, quiet companionship, or giving them space when they need it. Animals are very intuitive, and I’ve found that bringing calm, loving energy helps them open up and feel at ease. I always pay attention to their body language to make sure they’re happy and well cared for.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Goleta
Beryl was great with my dog Taco. She's very responsive and easy to communicate with. From our exchanges I could tell she truly love and cares for dogs. She even wiped Taco's feet after the walk and gave him treats (with my approval), which I really appreciated. I'm sure Taco really appreciated that as well! She also took great photos and walked him for longer than I expected. I wouldn't hesitate to have her walk or watch Taco in the future. Highly recommended!

Rachel was amazing with my miniature dachshund, Ellington! She clearly understands the special care these long-bodied pups need. Since he’s prone to IVDD, she was extra cautious to make sure he avoided anything that could strain his back—no jumping, steep steps, or rough play. She treated him with such kindness and attention, and I could tell he felt comfortable and safe with her right away. I really appreciated the updates and how attentive she was to his needs. I’d absolutely trust her with Ellington anytime!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
