“Bri did an amazing job taking care of our two senior cats, who can both be finicky (especially with new people)-she even figured out how to convince one of our cats to take her medicine when she unexpectedly went on strike and refused to accept her usual pill pouch treats from a new person! The cats were clearly very well-taken care of while we were gone, and Bri's detailed updates (with adorable pictures) put our minds at ease while we were traveling.”

“Emily did a fantastic job of caring for two senior cats as well as our downstairs neighbors' two rambunctious younger kitties over Christmas, including one cat that takes medication twice daily! Emily was amazingly patient about giving medication, even when Cleo decided to put her through her paces, and communicated frequently both to troubleshoot Cleo's medicine and for regular updates. It was a great relief to have someone taking excellent care of our cats while we were visiting family for the holidays, and from the adorable pictures she sent it's clear that our cats loved her visits as well!”

“So thankful for Ellie. Left with the peace of mind that Dutch was in good hands. She communicated through out the days and although my cat tends to be very shy, she warmed up to toward the end of her dropping by. Thank you so much Ellie!”

About: I've been dogsitting for friends for the past few years! I've loved dogs and would love to continue spending more time with them! Always eager to help people and make dogs feel loved! I work in ministry and have a flexible schedule. I'm not free all the time, but can be really flexible depending on the season! Always down to have a conversation to iron out details! I have only cared for pets in other people's homes. I follow whatever guidelines, instructions, or rules that pet owners give me. I want to make sure their pets are on their regular schedules and are loved!
“Oxana took great care of our two cats, and they were happy and healthy when we got home. She was a great communicator, and we would definitely rebook with her.”

“We are new to the area and we’re anxious about getting a new cat sitter for our two very shy cats. We are very happy to have found Aidan and will definitely book again! They were very responsive and did a great job making sure our cats were taken care of while we were away.”

“Kaitlyn was wonderful with my shy, retiring cat. She knows how kitties work and was able to entice her out. She was easy to connect with and gave great updates to make the fur Mom happy. I will be booking her again.”

“Sarah has great communication and made me feel comfortable leaving my cat at home. My cat seemed really happy in all the pictures Sarah sent. Definitely will rebook next time I need a cat sitter :) thank you!”

About: I've been caring for pets for over 15 years. My family had two dogs while I was growing up, and I was responsible for feeding them, taking them on walks, and bringing them to their grooming appointments. After moving abroad for school, I adopted two rescue cats from a local shelter and have cared for them ever since by myself. I stay on top of their annual wellness exams and vaccinations, introduce new foods to keep their meals interesting, bathe them when needed, spend lots of time playing with them, and even take them on walks occasionally. I understand that every pet has a unique personality and always try to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I'm currently a graduate student, so my schedule depends on my work, but I'm usually available around lunchtime and in the evenings after 5–6 PM (or nights if necessary). My schedule is generally more flexible on weekends. Because of my lab work, I'm better suited for drop-in visits, walks, and pet sitting rather than full-time boarding. Your pet's safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I will carefully follow each owner's feeding schedule, exercise routine, and any special care requests. I take time to learn each pet's personality and never force interactions if they're shy or nervous (I have a shy cat so I know how it works). I will also provide regular updates with photos and messages, so you'll always know your pet is happy and well cared for.
About: I have had a dog in the house since I was young. Most recently helped train my family German Shepherd puppy from 10 weeks! I also have experience caring for my dog when she went through a major hip replacement surgery, which required much more intensive care over the course of a few months. Do not currently have any pets (my pup is back home), but have helped take care of both dogs and cats. I am staying in the Brown University area over the summer and will be conducting research as a Master's student. My schedule is very flexible as I mostly work on a laptop. However, there will be days I have to work around experiments, so feel free to inquire! I won't be able to host your pet (sadly), but I am more than willing to visit or walk as needed! I always starts with asking: 1. Any essential things about the pet I need to know (medication, allergies, etc.) 2. Any essential things about the house? (places to keep them out of, toys, beds, where they like to hang out) 3. Food, drink, and potty schedule + locations for each. 4. Anything else you want me to be aware of? (No shoes in the house, stay out of certain rooms, don't let mud get tracked around, etc.) 5. In case there's a mess, how should I clean up? (paper towels, pads, trash bags, etc.) I always want to respect both your house and your little friend so please give me as much detail as possible!
“Noah is great. Frequent, timely, communication and he always takes great care of the cats. He always goes that extra step. I appreciate that I can always count on him.”

“Mae is amazing! Left wonderful notes and pictures at every visit and took amazing care of my Luna who clearly loved her visits as well. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for pet care :)!”

“Maya went above and beyond for my three kitties!! She is an absolutely delightful person and you can tell she truly cares for your pets like she would her own. I will definitely be using her again and again. Thank you Maya! 🩷🐾🩷”

“Our doggie looked sooo happy and rested when I got back & I know that’s b/c of J’s care. We have an older elderly dog with unique medical needs. This is the sitter you want their patience and care was excellent. Looking forward to rebooking them soon very soon indeed.”

“Would not hesitate to have Jules sit for our three cats again! She did a fantastic job and even picked up an extra day for us during the end of our trip! Great communication with photos and updates. Great service and attention to all the cats needs! Thank you! Pamela”

“Jordan took exceptional care of my cats, Sage and Oliver. She followed every instruction I left with great attention to detail and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. Her communication was consistent, clear, and thoughtful, which gave me real peace of mind. It’s obvious she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after, and I wouldn’t hesitate to trust her with Sage and Oliver again.”

“Another wonderful sit with Meira! She’s so great about detailed updates and so many photos and videos. Deedles loves her - even I can’t touch the belly, but Meira is allowed!”

Grace was amazing, a lifesaver. Grace was able to help take care of my girls without much notice, they were so happy to see her every time. Grace was very communicative and provided pictures every single time. She spent time with the girls, played with them, and feed them. Grace is amazing!!

I’m very pleased with Samantha service. I was always informed about anything, any changes or behaviors with my dear 4 paws daughter. I definitely would hire Samantha again. She went above and beyond. Example: I told her that she didn’t necessarily need to take my Sam for walks but she asked if she could, I said that It was all up to her. my daughter loved it!!!

Thank you so much, Maryann! I knew I would be in good hands - Maryann is so knowledgeable about cats and I felt safe leaving my cat in her care. My house is a bit complicated right now and she patiently dealt with some extra hassle. I would recommend her to a friend!

After almost 12 years of only using family members to watch our pup, we found ourselves needing to hire a sitter for the first time. We were SO nervous but from the second we met Mae we knew we were leaving our dog in good hands. My favorite part was the detailed reports of her visit with so many pictures of our shy dog enjoying herself. We will absolutely use Mae again and recommend her to anyone needing a calm, professional, and animal loving dog sitter. You can tell she is passionate about her job and that is exactly what I was looking for when searching for a Rover sitter. Thank you Mae!!

Jessica was fantastic with Lucky! From the moment he saw her at the meet and greet, they immediately clicked. I hired her to come twice a day and she always went above and beyond sending photos of Lucky throughout her visits. He always looked like he was having a great time while she was over. She took him on walks, played with him, and really kept him engaged. I'm always sad when I leave Lucky for a few days, but having Jessica there to keep him company eased my nervousness completely. Would have her watch him again in a heartbeat.

Jasmine was wonderful to work with! She stayed in touch with us, sending us photos and detailed notes about our cat, even going above and beyond with care during a heatwave while we were away. While we've had some very good experiences with sitters through Rover in the past, Jasmine, with her dedicated attention to communication and to our cat, was far and away the best sitter we've worked with in our area! We can't recommend her enough and hope she's available when we're next out of town.

One of the best pet sitters you will ever find highly recommend. Very sad that she's moving away from my area. Wish they were staying cuz they're always so good. My pets love her and will always be in their heart. Like I said, very friendly. Very highly recommend I would hire her in a heartbeat again but like I said she's moving away so me and my pets are sad.

Super great with my little fur guys. Very knowledgeable about pets. Very friendly, highly recommend. He makes sure to take very good notes before he even comes and takes care of them. And if he has any questions he will notify you and contact you to make sure that he has all the answers he needs to make sure your pets are taken care of.

Kaitlyn was absolutely wonderful with my cats! She provided fantastic care, kept me updated with photos, and gave me total peace of mind while I was away. It’s such a relief finding someone so dependable and caring. I highly recommend her and will definitely be booking again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
