“Anely takes incredible care of our pup. She is attentive to our dog's needs and wellbeing, communicates consistently (we get updates and pictures throughout the day), and flexible. Every drop-off, our pup is super excited to see Anely!”

About: I grew up with black lab mixes, having at least one dog in the house all the time. I helped to raise two of the family black lab puppies through 15 years and care for the next generation, a 2 year old black lab/border collie rescue pup, teaching her to sit and lay down. I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs over the past few years, learning patience from puppies, strength from sweet old ladies, and the careful nuance that comes with leash aggressive rescues. I now have an adopted a rescue greyhound in the family. She loves new friends but is also perfectly happy cat napping wherever her bed lands. Happy to host or walk, with or without her company. I’m full time at home and so I am free to do breaks and provide limited entertainment between meetings, which are never more than 1.5h. This is the schedule I provide my own pup and would extend to others. I treat them as my own. I prefer to be over communicative with owners if any potential issues arise as well. Greyhounds react particularly poorly to negative feedback and punishment, so patience and focus on pawsitivity (particularly treats) is a standard with me.
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with years of experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. Whether your pet is playful, shy, or somewhere in between, I’m confident in creating a calm, loving environment that fits their needs. I work from home full-time, which means your pet will have plenty of attention throughout the day—and with a beautiful park right next door, daily walks and outdoor time are part of our regular routine. I genuinely treat every pet like my own, giving them the care, affection, and respect they deserve. Looking forward to meeting your furry family member! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine since I work from home and have a flexible schedule. I start the day with morning walks (the park next door is perfect for that), and I build in time for play, feeding, potty breaks, and snuggles throughout the day. Evenings usually include a final walk and some wind-down time. Whether it’s a short visit or overnight care, I make sure each pet gets plenty of attention and care woven into my day like they’re part of the family. In my home, I create a safe, calm, and pet-friendly space where your pet can feel comfortable and cared for. I stick to their usual routine as much as possible—walks, feeding times, play, and rest—to help them settle in easily. I live next to a park, so daily walks and outdoor time are a big part of our day. Pets have full access to cozy spaces, and I’m always nearby since I work from home.
“eliza is the best! She is so attentive, caring and professional. She also sent back photos and I can tell my dog enjoyed every second with her! I had a last minute book for puppy day care and she replied very quickly. I would not hesitate to book her again!”

“Lisa was so good with our dog, very attentive, and very clearly a pet lover! We also received many cute pictures and updates which we really appreciated. Our dog had a great time with her. Highly recommend!”

“Elba is wonderful and Sonny loved spending time with her. He loved running around her yard and made friends quickly with her. She is very responsive and wonderful at communication, she is experienced and knowledgeable. I recommend her 100%!”

About: I have been a dog owner my whole life and have loved taking care of the pets of family friends and neighbors. I have experience with a variety of ages and I have helped train multiple family dogs. I love taking my dogs on runs or just lounging around the house giving belly rubs or cuddles... and the occasional treat. I am a recent graduate of Physician Assistant school starting work in the winter. My schedule is very open as a result, and I am happy to accommodate your needs. I live in a pet friendly home with easy access to multiple parks and walking paths. I am happy to commute to your home as well if this would make things easier or your pet feel more comfortable.

“Debby was AWESOME! My puppy was in such good hands. She’s very loving, attentive, responsive, friendly, had a lot of experience with dogs, keeps you updated with pictures, and overall genuine. My puppy had such a fun time at her place! Will definitely be booking again :)”

About: Hello, I’m a Brown University graduate who gave up on the corporate life to live off my art and my passion for animals. I’ve always had pets in my life, especially cats, and I’ve been caring for them since I was a kid. Growing up, I also helped watch my neighbors’ pets whenever they needed an extra hand. Now, I’m a proud dog mom to Bonnie, a sweet Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix I share with my partner. Because she’s our first dog, we dove deep into research—while at Brown, we studied canine behavior and body language to better understand how dogs communicate and what they need to feel safe and happy. That knowledge has been invaluable in helping us welcome pet guests into our home. When your pets stay with us, they’ll be treated just like Bonnie—with cuddles, love, fun walks, playtime, and plenty of care. My goal is always to make them feel at home, comfortable, and loved. My schedule is very flexible, so I have plenty of time to walk, feed, play with, and cuddle your pets throughout the day. Whether they need extra attention, long walks, or just companionship, I’m here to make sure they always feel cared for. The first priority for me when caring for animals is safety. I pay close attention to the environment and make sure pets are always comfortable and secure. For dogs, I have a safe yard where they can play, take potty breaks, or just relax outside. I also live in a very pet-friendly neighborhood, perfect for safe walks and trips to the park. For cats, my home is equipped with window protection so they can’t slip outside (unless they are leash-trained or outdoor cats whose owners prefer outside time). I always respect each owner’s preferences—whether that means leash walks, indoor-only care, or a specific routine. If not in my own house, it's my pleasure to go to the owners house to take care of the cats! I will check the whole house to make sure everything is in order, clean everything, feed, hang out and play with the little ones! I pay attention to each animal’s unique needs. I believe communication is key, so I’ll always ask questions and keep in touch to make sure we’re on the same page.
“Baron had a great day with Isabel and her fiancée! Despite him being a slightly anxious pup at times, he seemed to be at ease, relaxed, and enjoying his time. Isabel was very responsive and took very good care of Baron. I will definitely be booking with Isabel again!”
About: Animals have been a big part of my life since I was young. I have taken care of dogs of all ages and sizes, cats, reptiles, and more! I have experience taking care of medically complex pets and love being active and providing lots of love, cuddles, and pets! I am a new graduate Physician Assistant waiting to start my career, so my schedule is flexible through the summer, fall, and into the winter. I am staying in a pet friendly apartment with lots of accessibility to local parks and walking/bike trails. I have a reliable vehicle and am happy to travel to your home for the ease and comfort of your pet.
“Gunther loved hanging out at Courtney’s house with his new friend Lucy! They are great hosts. He came back exhausted and happy- we enthusiastically recommend them to anyone looking for a safe and friendly home-away-from-home for their canine companion.”

“Sophia was really good and kept me updated hourly, it was easy to book and basically took me at the last minute.. Pumpkin went on a long walk and seemed really happy and like she got her energy out!! 😊 highly recommend and would book with her again!”

“Sam is very kind and flexible! My dog, Samira, is always so excited to see him. I’m grateful to have someone so kind and trusting to take care of my baby girl when I am busy. Highly recommend!”

“Qualynda was amazing with our puppy. She watched her for us on very short notice and went above and beyond to care for her and keep us informed. Our girl is pretty timid and was scared at first but warmed up quickly and had a great time. She especially loved running around the big backyard! We will definitely use Qualynda again!”

“From the moment I pulled up, I had a great feeling about leaving Caroline with Matthew. He was outside playing with his pup and the strong bond they have was obvious. While watching Caroline, Matthew sent great photos and was very communicative. Would 100% recommend for doggy daycare!”

“Gilbert is the best Rover host I’ve had the pleasure of using to watch Leo. I was provided videos throughout the day and Leo played hard with Gilbert’s dog Moon all day. I couldn’t be happier and I’m going back tomorrow for one more day. Gilbert was also very flexible with my schedule as I hit a snag during my business in Providence.”

“Briana took a good care of my dog. We booked with her at the last moment and she was able to come to pick him up. She sent photos throughout the day so we could see how he was doing.”

Words can’t explain how much I appreciate Emma for today. She came in clutch! And really helped at the last minute and spent the entire day with my boy. Was professional. From the start, highly skilled in communication & overall just couldn’t have been a better choice. My boy has pretty bad anxiety and seemed to have warmed up to her and speaks volumes for me . Overall great ringer,

Anely was wonderful with our dog, Teddy! He is usually very timid around new people, but he went right to her and was comfortable almost immediately. Throughout his stay, she sent pictures and updates, which gave us great peace of mind. When we picked him up, he was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. We have a three-hour drive home, and he slept most of the way, which tells me he had plenty of fun and felt completely at ease. We are so grateful for the excellent care Anely provided and would absolutely trust her with Teddy again. Highly recommend!

Debby was AWESOME! My puppy was in such good hands. She’s very loving, attentive, responsive, friendly, had a lot of experience with dogs, keeps you updated with pictures, and overall genuine. My puppy had such a fun time at her place! Will definitely be booking again :)

Isabel took wonderful care of Dexter this week! We so enjoyed her thoughtful and informative daily updates. She made sure he was comfortable, following his usual daily schedule and fostering positive and playful interactions with her dog Griggs. We are grateful for her proactive and in-depth communication and her timely pickups and dropoffs. She is a dog sitting gem!

Pillie has been absolutely amazing with our puppy, Mati. She sends us so many photo and video updates so that we know our dog is in good hands. Mati snapped the retractable leash we had for her and Pillie generously gave us a spare of her own. She is always caring and understanding that Mati is a bit of a nervous wreck at drop-off.

Tammy is incredible as always. Understanding and was willing to accommodate for a last minute change in my plans. She takes such good care of Obi and he really enjoys spending time with her! Where he's nervous to go with some people he ran right inside tail wagging.

From the moment I pulled up, I had a great feeling about leaving Caroline with Matthew. He was outside playing with his pup and the strong bond they have was obvious. While watching Caroline, Matthew sent great photos and was very communicative. Would 100% recommend for doggy daycare!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in RI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
