I live on the first floor with a walk-out porch to a mostly fenced backyard. When outdoors, pets will remain on leash for safety. Goal would be to replicate whatever structure your pet is used to at home.

Information Grace J. would like to know about your pet
I’d want to know if your dog has any special needs, fears, allergies, or routines so I can care for them appropriately. I used to have senior dogs and am comfortable giving oral meds, being patient on slow walks, and noticing subtle changes in behavior. I’ve also cared for highly active dogs who need a lot of exercise to stay steady. I respect every dog’s boundaries— if your dog prefers space, has leash reactivity, etc., I want to know that upfront so I can keep them and myself safe.
A typical day
Having had senior dogs myself, I value both physical and mental stimulation (sniffing and people-watching count) so I build that in. We can play inside or outside, take walks around the block or to a park (India Point Park is nearby). I‘d adjust to what each dog enjoys with the goal of making them feel safe, content, and happy in the way they like to be.

Attentive & Responsible Pet Care
Pet care experience
I’ve been around animals my entire life. I grew up on a farm milking goats and cows, strategically herding animals to different pastures, and taming and befriending feral cats. This hands-on background gave me a natural ability to read animals' subtle body language and emotions. While I’m currently pet-free, I spent the last six years caring for my own beloved senior dogs (Iris, Linda, and then later Clyde), as well as pet-sitting friends’ dogs, cats, and guinea pigs. I genuinely love animals' unique quirks and letting them be exactly who they are—whether shy, silly, anxious, energetic, or sweet and slow-paced. I will admit, I have a major weak spot for mellow doggios, hence my love for the geriatrics. I’m also a registered nurse with extensive clinical experience. Staying calm under pressure, noticing subtle changes, and safely administering medications is second nature to me. As a caregiver, I pride myself on being attentive, reliable, and competent (which involves knowing what I know and also what I don't know—aka knowing when to ask for help or get help). My goal is to follow your established routines, rules, and training style so your pet feels that stability and reliability while in my care. I genuinely love getting to know new animals, and I promise to provide yours with the dedicated care they need.
Reviews

Grace is great! She took the time to meet me and my dog ahead of time to make sure they were a good fit. She sent lots of photos and videos of Willie out on walks and at the park. It seems like he had a fun weekend thanks to Grace!

Grace is amazing! She took care of our pup so well and is a great communicator.
Grace is amazing with pets! She instantly made my dog Teddy feel at ease and always cared for him with so much warmth and love. She used to have a senior dog, Linda, who could be a bit moody, and Grace was always patient, gentle, and super caring with her. Grace is a natural caregiver in her family, with her friends, and even at work as a specialized nurse. You can really tell she’s dedicated to caring for others. Any pet would be lucky to have her for a day, overnight or even just for a quick walk.
Grace is one of the most caring and responsible pet caregivers I know. She has given senior dogs love, comfort, and a true home, tending to their needs with patience and devotion. Her compassion shines through in how she nurtures every pet, making sure they feel safe, happy, and cherished. Any animal would be lucky to have her care.
