“Rafael was incredible with our 14 year old beagle. We are very particular on who we leave our dog with and we felt great about leaving her with Rafael. His home is clean and safe. Such a nice and caring guy. He made the cutest report card for our dog. Sammy will definitely be visiting again when we go away.”

About: Hello, I’m a Brown University graduate who gave up on the corporate life to live off my art and my passion for animals. I’ve always had pets in my life, especially cats, and I’ve been caring for them since I was a kid. Growing up, I also helped watch my neighbors’ pets whenever they needed an extra hand. Now, I’m a proud dog mom to Bonnie, a sweet Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix I share with my partner. Because she’s our first dog, we dove deep into research—while at Brown, we studied canine behavior and body language to better understand how dogs communicate and what they need to feel safe and happy. That knowledge has been invaluable in helping us welcome pet guests into our home. When your pets stay with us, they’ll be treated just like Bonnie—with cuddles, love, fun walks, playtime, and plenty of care. My goal is always to make them feel at home, comfortable, and loved. My schedule is very flexible, so I have plenty of time to walk, feed, play with, and cuddle your pets throughout the day. Whether they need extra attention, long walks, or just companionship, I’m here to make sure they always feel cared for. The first priority for me when caring for animals is safety. I pay close attention to the environment and make sure pets are always comfortable and secure. For dogs, I have a safe yard where they can play, take potty breaks, or just relax outside. I also live in a very pet-friendly neighborhood, perfect for safe walks and trips to the park. For cats, my home is equipped with window protection so they can’t slip outside (unless they are leash-trained or outdoor cats whose owners prefer outside time). I always respect each owner’s preferences—whether that means leash walks, indoor-only care, or a specific routine. If not in my own house, it's my pleasure to go to the owners house to take care of the cats! I will check the whole house to make sure everything is in order, clean everything, feed, hang out and play with the little ones! I pay attention to each animal’s unique needs. I believe communication is key, so I’ll always ask questions and keep in touch to make sure we’re on the same page.
“Anita is fantastic. She's easy to communicate with, warm with my dogs, and understanding of my 13-month-old's more energetic tendencies. I think it's abundantly clear that she loves animals, and I felt very secure in leaving my dogs with her.”

“Giovanni was very professional and he has a very loving home. His own pets are well cared for. He even has a 19 year old poodle mix! It’s a real testament to the TLC in the house that can bring a dog into his 19th year of life. Giovanni and my dog were fast friends and I look forward to working with him again soon.”

“Pea had her first sleep over with Faith and Jay and I was so happy to see just how comfortable she was in the space. So grateful for the accommodations for this ~very~ particular dog.”

“I couldn't be more thrilled with the care Gil and his dog, Moon, provided for my 50-pound husky puppy, Guy, this weekend! From the moment I dropped him off, I knew he was in great hands. Gil kept me updated throughout the weekend with adorable pictures of the two dogs playing and having a blast together. It was clear that Guy was not only well-cared for but genuinely enjoying himself. Gil’s communication was excellent—he made sure I felt at ease, sending me regular updates that reassured me Guy was having a fantastic time. Moon, his dog, was the perfect companion, and I could see the bond they quickly developed. The playtime, walks, and overall attention Guy received made it clear that Gil is a true dog lover who goes above and beyond to ensure every pup is happy and safe. If you're looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive dog sitter, I highly recommend Gil. He treats your dog like family and makes sure they have an enjoyable, stress-free stay. Guy can’t wait for his next visit!”

“Eve was great! She and her family clearly care about the pets they sit. I received photos and updates daily about how Coco was doing and it was obvious she felt welcome and at home. Eve was flexible and accommodating about pick-up and drop-off times and made the entire process a breeze. Will definitely trust her with Coco again. Thanks Eve!”

“Alyssa was the first time I ever hired a pet sitter 😊. I was super impressed!! Willow is a rescue we only had about a month, so we were concerned about having her get nervous and anxious in a new environment and away from us. Alyssa kept us updated on my Willow's stay - pictures and prose. We were so relieved to see Willow getting along so well with Alyssa. Willow came back content, and we were so happy to have found Alyssa!! Your pets will be so lucky to have Alyssa care for them; do not hesitate in the least. You will see for yourself what a loving and codependent care she gives them !”

“Shawn was communicative from the start through to past when I picked Dakota up. Super friendly, super helpful and overall just great. Understanding of my concerns and Dakota’s wants and needs. Will definitely book with them again. :)”

“Qulynda was great! She took such great care of our dog while we were away, and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing our pup was in good hands. I would highly recommend using Qulynda if you’re looking for someone to care for your furry one!”

“Isabell and Nick took great care of our border collie, Jerry! They had him for over two weeks, and sent frequent photos and updates. He’s certainly looking forward to his next visit!”

“We are so happy to have found Lisa. She and her family are so nice. It’s exactly what we were looking for. Our senior dog seemed to fit right in! Lisa sent us regular updates throughout the stay and we felt very comfortable. We will definitely call her again. Thank you so much!”

“I can’t say enough great things about Armitage. They take such amazing care of Kharma every single time. Even when Kharma had to stay really late, they were incredibly accommodating and made sure he was comfortable and well taken care of the entire time. It truly gives me peace of mind knowing he’s in such good hands. At this point, Armitage is the first sitter I call every time without hesitation. I honestly wouldn’t trust anyone else with Kharma. The level of care, consistency, and genuine love they show means everything to me.”

“Boa provided daily pics of our pup, promptly responded to all communication, and I can tell our pup had a lot of fun because he took a nap when he got home! We will definitely book again...thank you!”

“Thanks for taking care of Titus! He loves his friends there. Briana is the best and personalizes the experience with a token of some kind (e.g., a card, treat, note) about the stay. Kudos!”

“Marissa, was the absolute best! Great communication from the start. I took my dog with me on a business trip and she wasn’t doing well in the hotel. I felt so much better that Marissa was taking good care of her. She has so much experience with dogs and it shows. She was also very accommodating with pick up and drop off. I couldn’t have left my pup in better hands. I would definitely recommend, and I’ll be using her service again next time I am in town.”

“Julia was so wonderful with our Cubbie. She clearly loves animals and sent us updates everyday on how he was doing. Super reliable and communicative and he had a great time. Thank you Julia!”

Matthew took Rex as a last minute boarder after our regular sitter had an emergency. He was really gentle and understanding with our elderly dog who was confused and nervous to be in a new place. We received plenty of updates and photos of Rex going on walks and snuggling. Excellent sitter!!

Anely was fantastic with our 4.5 month old puppy. Anely is incredibly knowledgeable about dogs and our pup was exhausted and happy when we picked her up. It was like summer camp! The kids loved seeing the pictures each day and I felt so relaxed knowing that our dog was so well cared for.

I was quite concerned about leaving Pumpkin at someone’s home, but Zack was so nice and welcoming that Pumpkin felt right at home from the moment she came out of the car. He took such good care of her, plus the daily trips to the dog park was a nice added bonus. We will be using Zack again, for sure.

Ty and her family welcomed our pup Nelly into their home with love and care. We had a relaxing vacation knowing that Nelly was well taken care of. Ty sent adorable pictures and updates and was very responsive and super easy to coordinate with. We’re first time dog owners and it was obvious that Ty was experienced and helped guide us throughout the process. Thank you Ty!
Julia was a wonderful sitter for my somewhat anxious 5 yr old dog, Ruby. Julia clearly has a great affection for all animals and is very attentive to them, making them feel comfortable & at very much at home. I feel very lucky to have found her & will definitely be booking with her again. Thank you SO MUCH, Julia!!! ☺️

Isabel was incredibly knowledgeable, caring, and thoughtful throughout my dog’s two-week stay. Her daily updates with photos were something we looked forward to, they became one of the highlights of our trip and gave us great peace of mind. It was wonderful to see our dog become part of her family. By the end of the stay, I was almost worried he wouldn’t want to come home! 🥲 I couldn’t recommend Isabel more highly. We’ll definitely trust her with our dog again.

Everything was perfect. Loki had a fantastic weekend with Veronica and Nick. I highly recommend them! They communicated well, sent lots of photos, and were very patient with my questions. This was my first time using Rover, but I felt very safe leaving Loki with them and will definitely use them again.

Lisa is amazing! She has lots of toys, and a one level home with a safe and beautiful fenced backyard. Lisa regularly sent us updates including images and videos of our happy dog. We wholeheartedly recommend Lisa and plan on having our dog stay at Chez Lisa again some time in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in RI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
