“Karen made our dog feel right at home and has a perfect fenced in yard that is dedicated to the dogs. Her Lab made the perfect companion to keep our excited pup busy and entertained. Karen also sent pictures and was very easy to communicate with, definitely going to be returning next time we need a sitter!”

“Giovanni was very professional and he has a very loving home. His own pets are well cared for. He even has a 19 year old poodle mix! It’s a real testament to the TLC in the house that can bring a dog into his 19th year of life. Giovanni and my dog were fast friends and I look forward to working with him again soon.”

“Jay and Faith made Sweet Pea’s first hang out so smooth! I’m an anxious human but they made me feel at ease, and I can tell Pea felt very comfortable as well as she spent her time lounging around and relaxing. Definitely a trusted pair dogs, including the special ones that require a little more structure. A++”

“Paige took very good care of Lulu, and I'm so happy I found her to board my puppy! Lulu is very comfortable with Paige and her family, and they treat her very well.”

“Gilbert was absolutely amazing with Diesel! We got multiple videos daily of Diesel and Moon running around the yard, playing with each other. We got updates on how he did every day! Diesel was a very happy boy during his stay. We will definitely come back to Gilbert again when we need a sitter for Diesel. ☺️”
“Winnie loved her stay with Leanne's and Michael's family. I was nervous at first leaving Miss W with people she had only just met, but when I saw just how much love and attention she was getting from the 2 boys, based on the photos Leanne sent daily, I sure she was getting the greatest of care! Thank you so much Leanne. And Winnie sends thanks to the boys! She can't wait until her next stay with you.”

“What a fantastic pet sitter! She sent updates and pics during our time away assuring us that Yoshi was doing great. She even gave us a goody bag when we picked Yoshi up. We will definitely be using Alyssa again!”

“Brenda was a great sitter. She was very patient with our girl who was a bit anxious the first few days but Brenda was communicative and worked with Maisie to get her comfortable and settled and happy. She took Maisie on walks and to the dog park and gave her lots of love and care. Bonnie (resident dog) is a sweet playful girl and the dogs got along really well and had lots of play time. I would highly recommend Brenda as a sitter and Bonnie as co-sitter.”

“Ashley is Absolutely amazing dog sitter! From the moment we met, I felt completely at ease leaving my dog in their care. They were attentive, loving, and kept me updated with messages and photos. My dog was happy, well cared for, and clearly loved. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again—highly recommend!”

“Kat is absolutely fantastic!!! Our dogs had a great stay with her, she even sent us pictures and videos of our boys each day! Kat is so nice, her home is so welcoming to dogs and she is incredibly responsive!! We will definitely be using her again!”

“Anita is fantastic. She's easy to communicate with, warm with my dogs, and understanding of my 13-month-old's more energetic tendencies. I think it's abundantly clear that she loves animals, and I felt very secure in leaving my dogs with her.”

“Brianna was amazing. Our flight home got cancelled twice and she was so good about it. Sent us lots of pictures. Our dog came home happy and healthy. Will be using Brianna again.”

About: Hi! I have been pet sitting with my non-reactive pup Sylvie for a number of friend's cats and dogs since COVID (usually as a favor) in and out of the New England area. I work at an arts non-profit in PVD and can drive. I can pet-sit and do limited amounts of dog training. Right now I work in a dog-friendly place 10 minutes from my home and my partner is working from home. We like going on hikes and to the dog parks. I would not bring a client's pet to my workplace, but a pet would always have someone with them at all times or at least not be left alone for more than a few hours at a time. I am most flexible on weekends and for overnight care. I have a fenced yard, a crate, and multiple rooms in the home with pocket doors that can split a larger room into two if needed. We usually let pets have free range of home or section off the living room depending on the temperament and needs of the pet.

Zachary is everything we could ask for in a dog sitter! Observant, thoughtful, and ridiculously kind to people and pets! We know Huckleberry is safe, loved, and cared for when he is with Zachary. The price is beyond reasonable for the quality of care and attention that Huckleberry receives. I would recommend Zachary to anyone looking for dog care with a high quality sitter!

Sarah was amazing! My cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes and I would typically leave her at home alone. Unfortunately, due to this illness, she now needs care and I was nervous about the idea of leaving her home alone. I have an amazing career and was fearful I would need to make changes professionally as my cats are far more important to me than my role. Fortunately, I found this app and Sarah. Firstly, as soon as I brought my cat to her home I immediately noticed how clean it was and how kind her cat was to mine who was a little nervous. I feel like crouton (my cat) felt like she was at home which was amazing to see. After leaving, Sarah sent me plenty of pictures which eased my nerves and I will definitely be a repeat customer

Can’t say enough wonderful things about Kendra. Per usual she sends frequent updates, photos and videos. My little girl is obsessed with her backyard and is clearly very comfortable with Kendra and her house. I really am always so calm and comforted when Cece is at Kendra’s house. A++++++

Robert was kind and caring with our family dog, Luna. She has a great deal of anxiety and does not get along with many dogs. Robert was patient and read Luna's cues so she could be as comfortable as possible in his home. Robert sent me frequent updates on how Luna was doing, along with pictures of her stay. Robert is an excellent dog host!

Brenda was a great sitter. I would highly recommend Brenda as a sitter and Bonnie as co-sitter.

Matthew took Rex as a last minute boarder after our regular sitter had an emergency. He was really gentle and understanding with our elderly dog who was confused and nervous to be in a new place. We received plenty of updates and photos of Rex going on walks and snuggling. Excellent sitter!!

Ty and her family welcomed our pup Nelly into their home with love and care. We had a relaxing vacation knowing that Nelly was well taken care of. Ty sent adorable pictures and updates and was very responsive and super easy to coordinate with. We’re first time dog owners and it was obvious that Ty was experienced and helped guide us throughout the process. Thank you Ty!
Julia was a wonderful sitter for my somewhat anxious 5 yr old dog, Ruby. Julia clearly has a great affection for all animals and is very attentive to them, making them feel comfortable & at very much at home. I feel very lucky to have found her & will definitely be booking with her again. Thank you SO MUCH, Julia!!! ☺️

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in RI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
