“Elba has been nothing but incredible. She has been great at communicating and making sure I know how my dogs are doing. One of my dogs requires a lot of patience after suffering from a traumatic brain injury, Elba has gone above and beyond to meet my dog where she’s at. I’m very grateful and content with the services Elba has provided.”

“First time leaving Gus for a long time. Courtney kept me at ease with her great communication and sharing photos! Her dog Lucy and Gus hit it off right away. I’ve already rebooked for another upcoming trip! Recommend 100/10”

“Amazing Rover! Gary put a lot of care into making sure our three dogs were well looked after and was very good about communicating. 100% recommend and would use again”

“Isabel was incredibly knowledgeable, caring, and thoughtful throughout my dog’s two-week stay. Her daily updates with photos were something we looked forward to, they became one of the highlights of our trip and gave us great peace of mind. It was wonderful to see our dog become part of her family. By the end of the stay, I was almost worried he wouldn’t want to come home! 🥲 I couldn’t recommend Isabel more highly. We’ll definitely trust her with our dog again.”

“Angelina was a spectacular host! She sent constant updates, was flexible, had a great set-up, and most importantly gave a lot of love to my girls. 10/10 would highly recommend! Thank you Angelina! I would also note she was able to accomodate (in my circumstances) a last minute, 3 week stay for my pups which is unheard of. That speaks to her heart and caring nature!”

“Our dog had a great time with Emilee and her family. Emilee was very attentive to our boy's specific needs. Emilee was very easy to communicate with and sent regular updates and photos during his visit. We look forward to using Emilee for pet sitting services in the future!”

“Cierra was a great overnight host for my pup! It was his first time staying over and she made sure that he felt right at home. She sent updates and photos throughout the day to show that he was relaxed in the environment and having a good time. Would definitely have my dog stay with her again! :)”

“Doris was able to take on our frenchie last minute to which I was very appreciative! I could tell our dog had a wonderful time with her! The picture updates we got were awesome as well. Thank you!”

About: My name is Sarah and I'm 33 years old. I took a little stint from Rover to focus on my professional career but I'm back and so excited to start petsitting again! Animals have been my life ever since I was young. I worked at a vet throughout high school and even started my own dog sitting company in Charleston, SC upon graduation from Virginia Tech - safe to say, I've always been obsessed with animals. I have experience with dogs and cats of all kinds and ages, including puppies, kittens, elderly dogs and cats, dogs those with disabilities, cats that require medication, etc. You name it, I've probably had to handle it in all my years of pet care. I love taking dogs on adventures - the beach, hiking trails, you name it. With 30 years under my belt, rest assured I will treat your fur babies like my own and give them the exercise and TLC they deserve while you are away! I'm currently working part-time, so my schedule is pretty open (including weekends). I'm available for house sitting, drop-in visits, and doggy day care (this includes walks, feeding, TLC, medication administration, etc.). I also offer overnight care, whether that be in your home or mine (whatever you and your pet prefer). This is a service I'm currently offering to private clients but am starting to extend to Rover. In my client's homes, I always let them take the lead with their comfortability and with their pet's normal routine. I want to make sure your pet hardly notices you are gone and that they are 100% comfortable and happy with someone in their environment. Whether that means crating them, walking them at specific times, having designated playtime. Again, I let the client take the lead on instructing me in those cases. When I bring a pet into my home, it's important that they get along with cats, as I have two who are very friendly and don't interact too much with my/client's dogs. Currently my Husky is staying with my mom in Virginia, so he will not be in the apartment. I want my space to feel as "homey" to them as possible, so whatever is needed to make that happen, I accommodate.
“Sonia was wonderful watching my pup! She was extremely attentive with Bruno who is very much go-go-go and sometimes hard to keep up with. She sent daily updates including photos and videos. The fenced in yard was a blessing for Bruno who is obsessed with running around. Will be using Sonia again next time I travel.”

“I was so nervous to leave Jackson with another family for a trip of mine as he had always stayed with my family. Kaylan and Kenny were amazing during the whole process and provided me updates and pictures everyday. Jackson had an amazing time playing in the yard and with their dog. I will be booking with them again for another trip, and I am so relieved to be able to have a fun & safe place for my best bud!”

“Marcia and her family were amazing! I got video updates and they took amazing care of my boy. Would recommend them to anyone needing a safe and loving place to board their dog!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - North Providence
This was the longest time Mars was away from me and it seemed like he had such a great time. When I went to pick him up, he seems so uninterested in coming back home. Haha. Always felt like he was fully taken care of and truly appreciated all of the updates and photos while I was away. We’ve definitely found our perfect sitter.

Gary is hands down the best sitter on Rover. My pup son Aiden LOVES him and my family loves him too. Gary sends cute photos throughout the day and he checks in with us daily to let us know how things are going. He has a huge yard for the pups to play in and his house is spacious and clean. He comes highly recommended and he will forever be my go to person when I need a sitter.

Elba was so kind, attentive, and caring! She sent plenty of updates and even suggested a different food for my dog! She definitely loves caring for dogs, and it’s always such a relief to find someone who treats your fur babies like their own. I’ll definitely book again and can’t recommend highly enough! Thank you!!!

Qulynda was amazing with our dog Marley! Family surprised us with a weekend trip, but we had no one to watch our dog. It can be very hard with a large energetic dog. Qulynda responded to my very last minute booking request immediately! I was very impressed as she took the time to answer all of my questions to make sure everything would be okay. She definitely put my nerves at ease unlike other sitters I talked to who didn’t seem to be confident in their training. I would 100000% recommend her!!! There were zero issues & our dog was so happy when we came back! We will definitely be booking with her again! Thank you so much!!!!

First time my dog had a multi-night stay with a dogsitter, and Jenni was wonderful with her!! My dog is sensitive and can get scared in new environments with new people and animals, but Jenni made sure she was comfortable and well cared for. Jenni was patient and kind with her, and Jenni's dog, Ripley, was amazing with my dog to give her the personal space that she needed. I highly recommend them, and I can't thank them enough for taking such good care of my furbaby!!

Isabel was incredibly knowledgeable, caring, and thoughtful throughout my dog’s two-week stay. We’ll definitely trust her with our dog again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in RI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
