“This is Stella’s second family. I can’t say enough positive things about them! Pictures of Stella, and notes about how she is doing daily - I always feel so comfortable leaving her with them :)”

“Jay and Faith made Sweet Pea’s first hang out so smooth! I’m an anxious human but they made me feel at ease, and I can tell Pea felt very comfortable as well as she spent her time lounging around and relaxing. Definitely a trusted pair dogs, including the special ones that require a little more structure. A++”

“Leaving our dog Winnie with Cierra was one of the easiest Rover experiences we have had! Winnie seemed right at home from our first meeting! Loved getting pictures of our dog while away travelling! Easy recommendation.”

“Isabel is so caring and kind. She constantly sends updates and pictures. My dog has separation anxiety and does so well when visiting with her. I highly recommend her!!”

“Our dog has a great time staying with Kyla! Her family was a perfect fit for our pup while we were away. Kyla was great with communicating and made us feel like our pup was in good hands :)”

“Angelina was a spectacular host! She sent constant updates, was flexible, had a great set-up, and most importantly gave a lot of love to my girls. 10/10 would highly recommend! Thank you Angelina! I would also note she was able to accomodate (in my circumstances) a last minute, 3 week stay for my pups which is unheard of. That speaks to her heart and caring nature!”

“Jessica, Abu and Justin are the canine equivalent of the cat’s meow of dog sitters. Jessica is quick to communicate, easy going, and so knowledgeable! The backyard and house are well suited to canine guests. We can’t say enough good things and though our sweet dog is a homebody, we think he’s actually looking forward to his next stay and whatever adventures await him. Abu is one of a kind and a gentle, friendly host. THANK YOU!”

“Giovanni was very professional and he has a very loving home. His own pets are well cared for. He even has a 19 year old poodle mix! It’s a real testament to the TLC in the house that can bring a dog into his 19th year of life. Giovanni and my dog were fast friends and I look forward to working with him again soon.”

“Lisa is an amazing sitter! She sent lots of updates and I knew that my dog was in great hands the entire time. I would definitely recommend her to anyone and would love to have her watch my dog again.”

About: Hello my name is Mary-Ann, I live in a single family home with a fully fenced in yard in Cherry Hill Estates in Johnston, RI. I don't leave dogs outside unattended. I’ve been blessed to have dogs for my whole life. I would love to open our home and couch to your fur baby in need of a safe, loving and caring environment. I currently have a fur baby named Buddy who is a Senior Bichon Shih Tzu mix who absolutely loves other dogs. He is very friendly and up to date on all his shots. My husband works from home full-time and I work from home 3 days a week. So, your fur baby won’t be alone. I know Buddy doesn’t like to be alone. I live in a quiet walkable neighborhood which allows us to take leisurely walks and a big fully fenced in back yard. I also have a dog door that leads out into a fully enclosed Dog Pen to access anytime for the potty. Pets are part of our families, and I know it’s important to make them feel comfortable and keep them safe at all times which will give you peace of mind while you are away. “I can’t say enough great things about Armitage. They take such amazing care of Kharma every single time. Even when Kharma had to stay really late, they were incredibly accommodating and made sure he was comfortable and well taken care of the entire time. It truly gives me peace of mind knowing he’s in such good hands. At this point, Armitage is the first sitter I call every time without hesitation. I honestly wouldn’t trust anyone else with Kharma. The level of care, consistency, and genuine love they show means everything to me.”

“Lisa, her fam, and Otis are the best. Murph had a blast and I felt completely comfortable with her abilities, as well as all the time she spent with him. We will be using her services again!”

“Marcia and her husband were wonderful with my golden retriever Theo. I got lots of updates and he got lots of cuddles, walks, and playtime. He came home happy and tired - thank you!!”

“Boa was patient and observant with Loki's anxiety and gave him the space and support he needed to stay calm. I really appreciated it and Loki came home a happy dog.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs my whole life, and for the past several years I’ve specialized in seniors and small, medium breeds, including my own 11-year-old Yorkie with heart and airway conditions. I’m confident with medications, gentle routines, and multi-day stays, and I currently sit regularly for repeat clients in Providence. I run my own practice from home, so my schedule is flexible and pets are rarely alone. My days are built around routine, morning walks, midday breaks, and calm evenings. Guest dogs join my daily rhythm naturally, with consistent feeding times, multiple walks, and plenty of one-on-one attention throughout the day In my home, I host one guest at a time in a calm, quiet space with supervised indoor time and secure, leashed walks. In your home, I follow your routines, feeding times, medications, and house rules. I always start with a meet and greet, keep dogs leashed or secured at all times, and send regular photo updates so you always know how your pup is doing.
About: Growing up I always had a dog or two. I had worked at a dog daycare facility professionally for 8 years. During my time there, I've taken care of various puppies to their adulthood and senior dogs. Since the facility is cage-free, I dedicate myself to ensuring the dogs have fun, are safe, and love in our care. Currently, I have two medium and large dogs who constantly love to play, whether it is water play in the backyard, going on walks, frisbee or just relaxing in our backyard! I'm currently a nursing student on and a part time barista. I only work part-time for a few hours a day, usually morning until noon time, so your pet will receive lots of attention, playtime, potty breaks, and companionship throughout their stay. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. My two dogs are very friendly and social with other dogs. I have a two-level yard, a six-foot fence all around the yard, and a door your pups can easily access to potty or play. I can also provide in-house food unless your pups have allergies and need to improvise. My house is cage free but if you’d like your pet to be crate I can improvise that.
“Sonia is awesome, although my lab had quite a few accidents she was very understandable and took very good care of my baby. I will definitely be booking again with her and is highly recommended. My baby came home tired happy and ready for bed.”

First time my dog had a multi-night stay with a dogsitter, and Jenni was wonderful with her!! My dog is sensitive and can get scared in new environments with new people and animals, but Jenni made sure she was comfortable and well cared for. Jenni was patient and kind with her, and Jenni's dog, Ripley, was amazing with my dog to give her the personal space that she needed. I highly recommend them, and I can't thank them enough for taking such good care of my furbaby!!

Gary is AMAZING! He watched our Corgi Bentley for 9 days. Gary would take Bentley for walks, car rides to play in a large fenced in yard with other dogs and send numerous photos/videos to us daily. We never felt a concern for Bentley's well being! Gary will be our forever dog sitter in the future!!! Ty so much! Ken and Mandy

Isabel was incredibly knowledgeable, caring, and thoughtful throughout my dog’s two-week stay. Her daily updates with photos were something we looked forward to, they became one of the highlights of our trip and gave us great peace of mind. It was wonderful to see our dog become part of her family. By the end of the stay, I was almost worried he wouldn’t want to come home! 🥲 I couldn’t recommend Isabel more highly. We’ll definitely trust her with our dog again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in RI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
