Flexible + reliable sitter 🐾

UPDATE AS OF JUNE 2026: My apartment building was in a fire on 5/29. I am not taking on any new clients until I’m settled. Thank you for your understanding. Hi, I’m Michelle! I know I cover a lot on my profile, but I just want to get everything down in case I forget to mention something. Thanks for checking out my profile and let me know if you have any questions. - 🐾 A little about me My name is Michelle Walker and I am 30 years old. I went to college at Johnson & Wales University for graphic design but now work full time within the financial industry. I started using Rover in March 2022. - 🐾 Experience I have grown up with two small dogs, and was responsible along with my two sisters, for feeding, walking, bathing, and caring for them. I don’t have any professional experience, but among the years my family has also had guinea pigs, fish, birds, and a rabbit that I have helped take care of.

Schedule

🐾 Schedule UPDATE AS OF JUNE 2026: My employer is requiring me to be in office full time starting some time in 2027. Updates to follow. I currently work full time from home 50% of the month Monday through Friday (I am currently required to go into the office every other week), so I am able to attend to your pet’s needs throughout the day. For the most part, I have full availability on weekends as well. Occasionally, I will go out for an errand or dinner, but am able to adjust my schedule if your pet has separation anxiety or can’t be alone for long. Please be advised the earlier you schedule bookings, the better. My pet sitting schedule can get pretty busy, and while I am able to take on last minute requests at times, I can’t guarantee it. I usually only take a max of two dogs at a time (three on a case by case basis), and some are better suited by themselves. It’s hard turning down a booking, but it will be in everyone’s best interest. If it looks like I’m unavailable, please feel free to reach out anyways! Sometimes I can rearrange my plans or work something out. - 🐾 Social media I occasionally post photos of the pets I watch on social media (feel free to ask for my username). I never post anything with personal or sensitive information. Please let me know if you’d prefer not to have your pet posted online.

Safety, trust & environment

🐾 What to expect Throughout your pet’s stay, I will constantly be keeping an eye on them to see that they are comfortable and taken care of. Before and/or after work, and on the weekends, I will take walks, and visit the local parks and trails. If they are up for it, I would love to play any games or use any toys, too. Depending on which service you book, and/or how long you are away, I will provide daily photos and updates on how your pet is doing. I usually send photos and updates 1-3 times a day and can provide more or less at your request. - 🐾 Apartment I live in a two bedroom apartment in Providence with my roommate, Cammie, and her Tuxedo cat, Brutus. Her cat is pretty easygoing and mainly keeps to himself. He can get intimidated by larger dogs at first. My roommate enjoys having the dogs over and getting outside and taking walks with them every now and then. I live on the second floor and the steps can sometimes be steep at first. My apartment does not have a yard, but I am able to walk your pet to the nearby dog park for activity or just walk around the neighborhood. There are no children present and it is a smoke free home.

Pets

A typical day

>> Meet and Greets Before booking, I would like to arrange for a meet and greet so that I can get to know you and your pet, and go over any specific instructions you may have so that you are at ease. Meet and greets are important when scheduling a booking. It gives me a feel of how your animal behaves and their temperament and personality. For boarding and day care requests, I arrange for meet and greets at my place so my roommate’s cat and your pet can be introduced. - >> Health & Safety Your pet must have all necessary and up to date vaccinations and immunizations. As for myself, I have received my Covid-19 vaccine and get my yearly boosters, and have always maintained a regular cleaning schedule (clutter is another thing). I will always have your pets in mind and will do my best to make them feel comfortable. - >> Unspayed/Unneutered Dogs Please either let me know if your dog is not spayed/neutered or have it listed in your pet’s profile. I do not allow marking in my house, and if it is habitual I will use a belly band to prevent messes. This is a firm boundary for me. I also do not take dogs in heat.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
No females in heat
Michelle can host up to 2 pets per night
>> What I expect from you Make sure your pet’s profile is up to date and their vet information and emergency contact is listed. It is easier to reference their information this way. Some other important things to note: - Is your dog neutered/spayed? Are they in heat? Do they mark indoors? - How old is your pet? - Does your pet have any separation anxiety? Can they be left alone if I were to step out for an errand without disruption? - Do they need more activity/stimulation than normal? Are they high energy or more likely to sleep for most of the day? Do they get a certain amount of time to play/walk/etc? - Is your dog crate trained? - What is their feeding schedule? Do they get fed a set amount of times a day or do they like to graze throughout the day? - Do they have any allergies? Are they allowed any treats? - Do they take any medications? Do they have any issues taking their meds? - Do they have any specific behaviors I should watch out for? Ex: Not touching their face, will grab your food if not watched closely, etc. - Do they get along with other people/dogs/pets? - And of course anything else that you can think of that would be helpful! - >> What to bring for your pet’s stay Please feel free to bring along any toys, beds, treats, or anything you think your pet will be comfortable with for their stay. I do require pet food (if applicable), a collar and leash when they are with me.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
