About: I grew up with black lab mixes, having at least one dog in the house all the time. I helped to raise two of the family black lab puppies through 15 years and care for the next generation, a 2 year old black lab/border collie rescue pup, teaching her to sit and lay down. Iâve cared for all kinds of dogs over the past few years, learning patience from puppies, strength from sweet old ladies, and the careful nuance that comes with leash aggressive rescues. I now have an adopted a rescue greyhound in the family. She loves new friends but is also perfectly happy cat napping wherever her bed lands. Happy to host or walk, with or without her company. Iâm full time at home and so I am free to do breaks and provide limited entertainment between meetings, which are never more than 1.5h. This is the schedule I provide my own pup and would extend to others. I treat them as my own. I prefer to be over communicative with owners if any potential issues arise as well. Greyhounds react particularly poorly to negative feedback and punishment, so patience and focus on pawsitivity (particularly treats) is a standard with me.
âBaron had a great day with Isabel and her fiancĂŠe! Despite him being a slightly anxious pup at times, he seemed to be at ease, relaxed, and enjoying his time. Isabel was very responsive and took very good care of Baron. I will definitely be booking with Isabel again!â
âGunther loved hanging out at Courtneyâs house with his new friend Lucy! They are great hosts. He came back exhausted and happy- we enthusiastically recommend them to anyone looking for a safe and friendly home-away-from-home for their canine companion.â

âGilbert is the best Rover host Iâve had the pleasure of using to watch Leo. I was provided videos throughout the day and Leo played hard with Gilbertâs dog Moon all day. I couldnât be happier and Iâm going back tomorrow for one more day. Gilbert was also very flexible with my schedule as I hit a snag during my business in Providence.â

âAnother great few days with Ty! She communicates clearly, follows through on all logistics and timelines, and most importantly, cares for Dexter with kindness and diligence. He loves spending time with her!â

âSophia was really good and kept me updated hourly, it was easy to book and basically took me at the last minute.. Pumpkin went on a long walk and seemed really happy and like she got her energy out!! đ highly recommend and would book with her again!â

âI can tell Ace had a very good time with Kat and her family. I felt relaxed and at ease leaving him with her, which is so rare for me. Definitely recommend her services.â

About: I adopted my dog when he was two and trained him to become the calm, well-mannered gentleman he is today. Now a senior, heâs an expert at finding the best spot on the floor and supervising the household from there. Caring for him has taught me the patience, attentiveness, and extra support older dogs need. Iâm dependable, observant, and committed to following each petâs routine so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Whether your dog prefers long walks, slow strolls, playtime, or professional-level napping, Iâll treat them like my own. Caring for pets fits naturally into my routine because spending time with animals is genuinely one of the best parts of my day. I plan my schedule carefully so every visit gets the time and attention it deserves... never rushed or squeezed in as an afterthought. Iâll follow your petâs usual routine, arrive when expected, and keep you updated while youâre away. I know consistency helps pets feel safe, especially when dinner is served three minutes late and theyâre considering filing a formal complaint. Safety and trust come first. In a clientâs home, I follow instructions closely, respect the space, and keep doors, gates, and leashes secure. I know from my own dog's personality that pets are not always committed to the honor system. Iâll maintain their usual feeding, walking, and playtime routines while giving them the patience and attention they need to feel comfortable. In my home, any introductions to my calm senior dog would be slow and supervised, with separate spaces available for meals and rest. Iâll also provide honest updates so you can relax knowing your pet and home are being treated with genuine care and respect.
âLisa was so good with our dog, very attentive, and very clearly a pet lover! We also received many cute pictures and updates which we really appreciated. Our dog had a great time with her. Highly recommend!â

âBriana was very attentive with Mojo. She gave Mojo his meds with no problems for his sensitive stomach. She tried her best to encourage eating despite his grazing only usual. Iâm an overprotective and doting dog mom, but I do trust Briana with my Mojo. Thanks Briana!â

âSonia is absolutely fantastic! My dog Isla had an amazing time and was so happy and tired when we picked her up. We'll definitely keep rebooking going forward! Having just adopted my dog ~6 months ago, this is the first time we've left her with anyone other than family and I have to say I was SO comfortable and happy knowing that she was in great care. Sonia sent pictures almost immediately to let us know Isla was settling in and more to follow up during the day. Highly, highly recommend Sonia-- wonderful experience knowing that my dog was in the best possible hands!â

âShawn was excellent at communicating throughout the day. She made sure my pup was hydrated and happy. He got lots of love and attention. She was also very flexible and accommodating.â

About: Hello, Iâm a Brown University graduate who gave up on the corporate life to live off my art and my passion for animals. Iâve always had pets in my life, especially cats, and Iâve been caring for them since I was a kid. Growing up, I also helped watch my neighborsâ pets whenever they needed an extra hand. Now, Iâm a proud dog mom to Bonnie, a sweet Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix I share with my partner. Because sheâs our first dog, we dove deep into researchâwhile at Brown, we studied canine behavior and body language to better understand how dogs communicate and what they need to feel safe and happy. That knowledge has been invaluable in helping us welcome pet guests into our home. When your pets stay with us, theyâll be treated just like Bonnieâwith cuddles, love, fun walks, playtime, and plenty of care. My goal is always to make them feel at home, comfortable, and loved. My schedule is very flexible, so I have plenty of time to walk, feed, play with, and cuddle your pets throughout the day. Whether they need extra attention, long walks, or just companionship, Iâm here to make sure they always feel cared for. The first priority for me when caring for animals is safety. I pay close attention to the environment and make sure pets are always comfortable and secure. For dogs, I have a safe yard where they can play, take potty breaks, or just relax outside. I also live in a very pet-friendly neighborhood, perfect for safe walks and trips to the park. For cats, my home is equipped with window protection so they canât slip outside (unless they are leash-trained or outdoor cats whose owners prefer outside time). I always respect each ownerâs preferencesâwhether that means leash walks, indoor-only care, or a specific routine. If not in my own house, it's my pleasure to go to the owners house to take care of the cats! I will check the whole house to make sure everything is in order, clean everything, feed, hang out and play with the little ones! I pay attention to each animalâs unique needs. I believe communication is key, so Iâll always ask questions and keep in touch to make sure weâre on the same page.

About: I have been a dog owner my whole life and have loved taking care of the pets of family friends and neighbors. I have experience with a variety of ages and I have helped train multiple family dogs. I love taking my dogs on runs or just lounging around the house giving belly rubs or cuddles... and the occasional treat. I am a recent graduate of Physician Assistant school starting work in the winter. My schedule is very open as a result, and I am happy to accommodate your needs. I live in a pet friendly home with easy access to multiple parks and walking paths. I am happy to commute to your home as well if this would make things easier or your pet feel more comfortable.

I have experience taking care of medically complex pets and love being active and providing lots of love, cuddles, and pets! I am a new graduate Physician Assistant waiting to start my career, so my schedule is flexible through the summer, fall, and into the winter. I have a reliable vehicle and am happy to travel to your home for the ease and comfort of your pet.
âElba is so kind!! She took our pup right in and took great care of her. She was super communicative throughout the day, sending pics and videos. Highly recommend!!â

Whether your pet is playful, shy, or somewhere in between, Iâm confident in creating a calm, loving environment that fits their needs. I work from home full-time, which means your pet will have plenty of attention throughout the dayâand with a beautiful park right next door, daily walks and outdoor time are part of our regular routine. From the moment I pulled up, I had a great feeling about leaving Caroline with Matthew. He was outside playing with his pup and the strong bond they have was obvious. While watching Caroline, Matthew sent great photos and was very communicative. Would 100% recommend for doggy daycare!

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0â7 kilograms and/or 7â18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pupâs socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dogâs pack, check the sitterâs profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dogâs vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitterâs care.
Many sitters in RI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, youâre adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
