About: I grew up with black lab mixes, having at least one dog in the house all the time. I helped to raise two of the family black lab puppies through 15 years and care for the next generation, a 2 year old black lab/border collie rescue pup, teaching her to sit and lay down. I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs over the past few years, learning patience from puppies, strength from sweet old ladies, and the careful nuance that comes with leash aggressive rescues. I now have an adopted a rescue greyhound in the family. She loves new friends but is also perfectly happy cat napping wherever her bed lands. Happy to host or walk, with or without her company. I’m full time at home and so I am free to do breaks and provide limited entertainment between meetings, which are never more than 1.5h. This is the schedule I provide my own pup and would extend to others. I treat them as my own. I prefer to be over communicative with owners if any potential issues arise as well. Greyhounds react particularly poorly to negative feedback and punishment, so patience and focus on pawsitivity (particularly treats) is a standard with me.
“Elba and her daughter are delightful! Very easy to work with, flexible, and accommodating. They took such good care of my little Finnegan, and I am beyond grateful for their service. Highly recommend!”

“Anely is an excellent sitter very warm ,affectionate and accomodating . We were traveling through Providence and had to keep our dog Cookie with her for two days consecutively and this was our first time with her. She absolutely made sure Cookie felt at home with her and also provided him with food ,walk ,toys plays etc. Cookie usually has anxiety issues at times so we were bit picky about choosing the right kind of day boarding for him. But Anely was a perfect choice.Though she was sitting few more dogs on those days but that never became an issue for our Cookie, so needless to say she is also expert at her job. It was because of Anely that we could enjoy Newport and other attractions of RI so much without having to worry about how Cookie is doing. She also sent us hourly updates with pictures over texts. I strongly recommend Anely to all other pet parents. Thank you so much.”

“Isabel took wonderful care of Dexter this week! We so enjoyed her thoughtful and informative daily updates. She made sure he was comfortable, following his usual daily schedule and fostering positive and playful interactions with her dog Griggs. We are grateful for her proactive and in-depth communication and her timely pickups and dropoffs. She is a dog sitting gem!”

“Tara was great! She took Buddy on a walk right away to ease his separation anxiety! She said he adjusted well settling in for the night. She even sent us a picture! Pick up was a breeze. Tara and Buddy met us outside and we were on the road in no time heading home. I’d recommend her service anytime!”

“Sonia is fantastic! Her regular check-Ins and photo updates are so appreciated. Wonderful, big fenced in yard for pups to play! Her dog Lola is terrific too. Both days we came home with a very tired, happy pup! Definitely recommend!”
“Gilbert is the best Rover host I’ve had the pleasure of using to watch Leo. I was provided videos throughout the day and Leo played hard with Gilbert’s dog Moon all day. I couldn’t be happier and I’m going back tomorrow for one more day. Gilbert was also very flexible with my schedule as I hit a snag during my business in Providence.”

“I’m very grateful to Hanna & Roy.✨ Besides being such lovely people, I truly appreciate them for taking care of my puppy🐶 From the very first moment, they showed so much love and dedication. It was clear that they genuinely cared about Haru’s well-being: they gave him affection, were attentive to him at all times, and played with him a lot. It was such a relief knowing he was in such good.”

“Veru is an excellent sitter , she is accommodating to any needs for your pet . She took good care of my boy. She follows instructions and really cares like her own. She would post pictures that were very nice and sweet. She took my boy for walks , which he enjoyed. I had my boy for two days of day care , he was excited to go over the second day. He had developed a bond , that I could see that he missed her when we said our byes for the stay. You will feel the same with your pet if you use her service that I highly recommend. Thank you Veru, you were wonderful sitter .”

“Paige is friendly and professional. Both times she cared for my dog she shared updates including pictures of her kids playing withs pup. She has an adequate fenced in yard incase weather gets in the way of walks. I felt completely at ease both times Paige took care of my guy. Would highly recommend.”

About: My partner and I have been caring for animals from bunnies to horses for our entire lives. Friends and family have relied and continue to rely on us to walk, feed, and board their pets. We do this because we love the companionship pups! Pets will be carefully looked after by my partner and I. They’ll be preoccupied daily with loads of activities! Parents are welcome to pictures/videos while they’re away. Your pets will have access to food/water, furniture, toys, undivided attention and unconditional love! Our dogs start the day by zooming and playing in our fully fenced in yard. Throughout the day we practice commands and do various activities. Here, we love dog puzzles and mentally and physically stimulating activities! Our house is pet friendly with plenty of space to play inside or out, depending on the weather. We also have pets of our own, who are very high energy and playful! We prefer gradual introductions to keep everyone calm and safe so your dogs will not meet ours during initial meet and greets. They’ll likely only meet ours if they stay multiple times or for more than 3 days. Entering a new environment or being cared for by someone new can be stressful for pets so we pay close attention to how each pet responds and acts and make sure to cater according to their individual needs, giving them space or activities as needed. Your pet will be loved, safe, and well cared for while they are here!
About: I began pet sitting in the early days of creating and publishing a pet magazine in RI. The experience has given me an education on care, training, heath, and a well rounded perspective and knowledge base which makes me quite comfortable in most situations and pet needs. I’m especially knowledgeable and experienced with shy and leash reactive dogs from both my dogs (all adopted) and years of fostering special needs dogs as well. I love a challenge! I can give meds, lots of cuddles, and a safe environment for all pet personalities. I am a freelance marketer and photographer with a very flexible schedule. Because I mainly work on my computer, I am able to spend as much time with overnights as you need. With years of experience in the pet industry, I've been the trusted choice for friends and neighbors when it comes to pet sitting. My broad knowledge, genuine love for animals, and unwavering commitment ensure that your pets will be treated as if they were my own.
About: I’m a dependable, patient, and passionate animal lover who treats every pet like they’re part of my own family. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities, and I’m comfortable working with energetic puppies, senior pets, and dogs that need a little extra patience or structure. I also have experience with dog training and understand the importance of consistency, positive reinforcement, and maintaining your pets routing while you’re away. One thing that sets me apart is my medical experience. Through my professional training, I’m comfortable administering medications and following detailed care interruptions, so you can feel confident knowing your pet is in capable hands if they require extra care. Whether your pet needs medication, a structured routine, plenty of exercise, or just lots of love and attention, I’ll provide personalized care and keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know how they’re doing. My goal is to make your pets feel safe, happy, and loved while giving you complete peace of mind. It’s easy for me to care for and transport dogs and puppies with my open availability schedule. I live right next to plenty of parks and I’m free most of the time so I can bring your dogs to play! I have a fenced in yard, plenty of leashes for walks, and cages for bedtime. Ability to transport to and from if needed. We offer full range of playtime, attention, and care depending on your dogs needs.
About: I adopted my dog when he was two and trained him to become the calm, well-mannered gentleman he is today. Now a senior, he’s an expert at finding the best spot on the floor and supervising the household from there. Caring for him has taught me the patience, attentiveness, and extra support older dogs need. I’m dependable, observant, and committed to following each pet’s routine so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Whether your dog prefers long walks, slow strolls, playtime, or professional-level napping, I’ll treat them like my own. Caring for pets fits naturally into my routine because spending time with animals is genuinely one of the best parts of my day. I plan my schedule carefully so every visit gets the time and attention it deserves... never rushed or squeezed in as an afterthought. I’ll follow your pet’s usual routine, arrive when expected, and keep you updated while you’re away. I know consistency helps pets feel safe, especially when dinner is served three minutes late and they’re considering filing a formal complaint. Safety and trust come first. In a client’s home, I follow instructions closely, respect the space, and keep doors, gates, and leashes secure. I know from my own dog's personality that pets are not always committed to the honor system. I’ll maintain their usual feeding, walking, and playtime routines while giving them the patience and attention they need to feel comfortable. In my home, any introductions to my calm senior dog would be slow and supervised, with separate spaces available for meals and rest. I’ll also provide honest updates so you can relax knowing your pet and home are being treated with genuine care and respect.
“Gary accepted a last minute day care booking and save the day! He was very communicative, we received many photos and Mica enjoyed her time with Amigo. We would definitely book again.”

“Another great few days with Ty! She communicates clearly, follows through on all logistics and timelines, and most importantly, cares for Dexter with kindness and diligence. He loves spending time with her!”

“Jessica was communicative and flexible and I feel so lucky we were able to book her on short notice, she really saved the day! My dog was relaxed and tired when she came home, which says a lot, she is a very anxious dog and I am so grateful when we find sitters who put her at ease. Thank you Jessica!”

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
