Thankfully, I came across Casey and Phil's profile. Met them and their dog Chloe for a meet and greet far in advance, heard about their extensive experience with dogs, and got to see Mushu interact with them in person. Spent way too long talking to them about anything and everything, and they were very patient with me and my concerns. Casey was also super helpful with reassurances, frequent updates, pictures, and videos. Overall, great experience. Heard Mushu was anxious for a bit because it was such a new experience, but he seemed content to play and receive all the love and attention while he was there. Thank you for caring for my baby!”

About: I grew up with black lab mixes, having at least one dog in the house all the time. I helped to raise two of the family black lab puppies through 15 years and care for the next generation, a 2 year old black lab/border collie rescue pup, teaching her to sit and lay down. I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs over the past few years, learning patience from puppies, strength from sweet old ladies, and the careful nuance that comes with leash aggressive rescues. I now have an adopted a rescue greyhound in the family. She loves new friends but is also perfectly happy cat napping wherever her bed lands. Happy to host or walk, with or without her company. I’m full time at home and so I am free to do breaks and provide limited entertainment between meetings, which are never more than 1.5h. This is the schedule I provide my own pup and would extend to others. I treat them as my own. I prefer to be over communicative with owners if any potential issues arise as well. Greyhounds react particularly poorly to negative feedback and punishment, so patience and focus on pawsitivity (particularly treats) is a standard with me.

About: My name is Sarah and I'm 33 years old. I took a little stint from Rover to focus on my professional career but I'm back and so excited to start petsitting again! Animals have been my life ever since I was young. I worked at a vet throughout high school and even started my own dog sitting company in Charleston, SC upon graduation from Virginia Tech - safe to say, I've always been obsessed with animals. With 30 years under my belt, rest assured I will treat your fur babies like my own and give them the exercise and TLC they deserve while you are away! I'm currently working part-time, so my schedule is pretty open (including weekends). I'm available for house sitting, drop-in visits, and doggy day care (this includes walks, feeding, TLC, medication administration, etc.). I also offer overnight care, whether that be in your home or mine (whatever you and your pet prefer). This is a service I'm currently offering to private clients but am starting to extend to Rover. In my client's homes, I always let them take the lead with their comfortability and with their pet's normal routine. I want to make sure your pet hardly notices you are gone and that they are 100% comfortable and happy with someone in their environment. Whether that means crating them, walking them at specific times, having designated playtime. Again, I let the client take the lead on instructing me in those cases. When I bring a pet into my home, it's important that they get along with cats, as I have two who are very friendly and don't interact too much with my/client's dogs. Currently my Husky is staying with my mom in Virginia, so he will not be in the apartment. I want my space to feel as "homey" to them as possible, so whatever is needed to make that happen, I accommodate.

Your pup will join our loving family—including my two dog-savvy kids (ages 8 and 9) and our sweet 1-year-old mixed breed, Winnie. Whether your dog thrives on quiet snuggles or loves joining us for car rides, pup cups, and hikes in the woods, we treat them just like a member of our own pack! I own my own business and work flexible part-time hours, so I can be home to provide plenty of love, play, and supervision. On the weekends, I am entirely free and dedicated to our guest pups, only stepping out briefly for our kids' sports events. Because I exclusively host one dog or one family of dogs at a time, I do not force your pets into a rigid routine. Instead, I completely tailor our daily schedule around your dog's typical feeding, playtime, and bathroom habits, ensuring they feel safe, pampered, and right at home. Safety and trust is my top priority. With nearly 20 years of experience in animal rescue, I am well-versed in canine body language, flight-risk prevention, and handling diverse medical or behavioral needs. My home sits on two acres of very secluded, peaceful property backing up to beautiful conservation land. While the yard is not fenced, this means your dog is never just left outside unsupervised; instead, I provide dedicated, hands-on attention with structured leash walks for all outdoor time. Because I exclusively host one family's pets at a time, your dog will never face the stress, unpredictable behaviors, or resource-guarding risks that come with a multi-dog pack setup. They will only share space with our gentle, dog-savvy children and our friendly, 1-year-old resident pup, Winnie.

“We couldn’t be happier with the care Matt and Patty provided for our Golden Retriever during the 10 nights we were out of the country. From the very beginning, we felt completely comfortable leaving him in their care. We were able to visit their home beforehand, and they have a wonderful setup, including a large, fully fenced backyard with plenty of room for him to play. Throughout our trip, Matt and Patty sent us frequent updates and photos, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. They took him on daily walks around the neighborhood, gave him lots of attention, and it was very clear that he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. What really stood out to us was how they handled a day when he wasn’t feeling well and developed some stomach issues. Matt immediately contacted us, proactively made an appointment with the vet, and made sure we were comfortable with him taking our dog in to be seen. Afterward, Matt and Patty followed the vet’s recommendations closely and even cooked rice and beef for his meals for several days while his stomach recovered. They truly cared for him as if he were their own. When we returned, we came home to a very happy puppy, and we could tell he had been loved and well cared for the entire time. We are so excited to have found Matt and Patty. Finding people you can completely trust with your dog while you’re away is incredibly important, and we feel very fortunate to have found such reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring sitters.
