“Absolutely phenomenal care for my cat. Very professional. She is consistent in visits and leaves thoughtful Rover cards and pictures. Could not recommend more highly.”

“Liana was an excellent caretaker. She immediately achieved my cat's trust and sent wonderful photos. Both cat and house were in excellent shape when I returned. I recommend her highly.”

“Maryann, the peace of mind you provide is priceless! When I'm away, I know my cats are in the very best hands with someone that truly cares about them. You are a gem!”

“We are absolutely thrilled to have found Rich (Kemba) for our American Bulldog, George. Our meet & greet was off to a slow start, as George is not always friendly to new people. Kemba and his wife Sandra, however, we so amazingly patient, understanding and kind to George - allowing him time to warm up a bit as we talked about his particular needs. Clearly they have a wealth of knowledge and experience working with all sorts of animals, including those who are "misunderstood". We scheduled a 2 week period of 2/day drop-in visits for George, beginning with yesterday (while my husband and I were home to show Kemba the ropes). George was extremely unpleasant and unwelcoming, but Kemba remained calm and collected, explaining George's behavior and reassuring him. He reassured me as well, as I was stressing out over George's outburst. We reviewed some of the notes I left for Kemba and went outside for a short playtime. George is very capable, caring hands with this man. We have a very good feeling moving forward and are confident that he and George will be great friends. I cannot recommend Kemba more highly.”

About: Hi, I'm Ella! I'm a lifelong animal lover based in Rhode Island, and I genuinely believe pets are family. My background is in public service and childcare, which has taught me the importance of responsibility, communication, patience, and creating a safe environment for the people (and pets!) who depend on me. Whether your pet loves long walks, endless games of fetch, snuggling on the couch, or simply sticking to their usual routine, I'm happy to adjust to their individual personality and needs. I understand how stressful it can be to leave your pet with someone new, so I make communication a priority. I'll always provide regular updates, photos, and plenty of reassurance while you're away. I have experience caring for animals with different personalities and energy levels, and I'm comfortable following specific feeding schedules, medication instructions, exercise routines, and household rules. When your pet is with me, they'll receive lots of attention, plenty of affection, and the same level of care I'd want for my own pet. I can't wait to meet you and your furry family members! I work full-time for the State of Rhode Island and work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. I'm also currently pursuing my Master's degree online through the University of Rhode Island, which gives me additional flexibility throughout the week. I'm happy to work with your pet's routine and schedule to make sure they receive the care and attention they need. Whether it's a quick drop-in visit, a long walk, or extra playtime, I'm committed to providing dependable and personalized care. I take the safety and comfort of both pets and their homes very seriously. Since I will be caring for pets in their own home, I make sure to be respectful of the space, follow the owner’s instructions carefully, and keep everything clean, secure, and well cared for. I also have experience working as a Property Manager for Universal Services LLC, which has given me experience with maintaining properties, keeping spaces safe and clean, and being trusted with other people’s homes and belongings. I understand the importance of being responsible, reliable, and respectful when someone is trusting you with their home. My goal is to make sure your pets feel comfortable and cared for while also giving you peace of mind that your home is in good hands while you’re away.
“Mackenzie is so sweet and friendly and seemed genuinely excited to hang out with my cat Watson. She took great care of him and I’d love to have her come by for other visits in the future!”

“Erin took care of my cat Stella for a week when I was in a pinch and did a great job! I quickly knew that she was going to be in good hands when I went on vacation. Communicated well and sent lots of fun pictures and videos. Would highly recommend!”

“Heath was great with the fur babies! Checked in numerous times and any of the items I forgot to mention Heath reached out to confirm to take care of them! Will for sure reach out again next time we go out of town!”

“Second time utilizing Crystal’s services and she totally rocks. Definitely put my mind at ease that my cats were in good hands while I was traveling and greatly appreciated the daily updates and pictures!”

“Jonathan was a lifesaver when prior a pet sitter canceled last minute, and in a way I’m happy it turned out that way! You can tell from the minute you meet him he genuinely cares for your animals like they are his own and makes every effort to show it. He even crocheted a blanket for our kitty! My husband and I never had to worry a day while we were on our vacation because we knew our cats were in great hands. We cannot begin to thank you enough!”
“Anders was wonderful with our puppy! This was the first time we used Rover and we got in touch pretty last minute. They made time for a meet and greet that helped us feel comfortable, and in the week of drop-ins they were ontime every day and seemed to genuinely enjoy playing with Iris - playing catch, using our puzzle feeders, hooking up the splash pad, etc. Their attentiveness and communication made us feel much better about having someone else care for our pup in the middle of the day. Highly recommend!”

About: I've been responsible for taking care of pets ever since I can remember- cats and dogs of all ages and temperaments. However, for the past few years I've been traveling a lot and so do not have any pets currently. Throughout the years, I've been a Vet Tech and adopted and fostered puppies through hospice dogs and several cats, and have had extremely friendly and reactive dogs. I'm willing to meet your pet where they are. I work from home and really enjoy my area of the world, so I tend to be a homebody during the week. I go for daily beach walks and enjoy swimming when it's warm enough. My neighborhood is great for walking, too. I love to get out and hike or explore on the weekends, but am also happy with projects around the house. High energy pups and couch potatoes are both welcome. I have a 4 foot fenced in yard and plenty of couch space. It's important to do what I can to help your pet be comfortable in a new environment, so I try to keep to their schedule as much as possible. I do have a large crate and room for you to bring your own if that works better. The ticks are out in force so please make sure your dog is on preventive. I cannot accept dogs with bite history or food/toy aggression.
“Natasha is great! She fed my pup who has several medications with his dinner and walked him after for a drop in visit. She even kindly washed his dish. Sounds like he gets excited to see her and I trust she will always come on time and take good care for my boy.”

“Another wonderful sit with Meira! She’s so great about detailed updates and so many photos and videos. Deedles loves her - even I can’t touch the belly, but Meira is allowed!”

About: I have two years of professional dog walking experience, alongside pet sitting, overnight stays, and cat care. I’m comfortable caring for dogs and cats with different personalities, routines, and needs. I’m dependable, attentive, and go the extra mile to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. I recently graduated from law school, and am currently working in pet care while applying for full-time positions. My schedule is flexible, and I’m available on weekdays for walks, drop in visits, pet sitting, and other care as needed! I always treat a client’s home and pets with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I make sure to follow each pet’s normal routine and any specific instructions provided, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and favorite activities. I’m attentive to each pet’s personality and comfort level and prioritize keeping them safe, comfortable, and happy while their owner is away.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Riverside
Ashley was more than accommodating when we had to alter our trip last minute. She provided a mix of informative and fun information with her check ins. She was also comfortable and great with giving two of our cats medication. Our house was clean and our 5 cats were well taken care of while we were gone for 5 days. We were very happy with how sweet, organized, and loving she was with our kitties. We would definitely work with her again!

Nicole took excellent care of our cat Moe while we were away. She clearly understands his personality and needs, and they picked right up where they left off from her previous caretaking visit. We received daily updates with photos, which gave us peace of mind. Most importantly, Moe was happy and completely himself when we returned. I highly recommend Nicole - she did a fantastic job!

We have used Fiona & Hannah several times now, and every single experience has been outstanding. They take exceptional care of our dog and consistently go above and beyond to ensure our pup is happy, comfortable, and well loved. The updates, photos, and communication make you feel as though you’re spending each day right alongside your dog, even while you’re away. It brings so much peace of mind knowing your fur baby is in such caring and capable hands. We truly feel we’ve found our dog sitters for life and couldn’t recommend Fiona & Hannah more highly.

Haley was absolutely incredible. I’ve used Rover many times, and this was by far the best experience I’ve ever had. From the moment we connected, she was professional, kind, and attentive. She asked thoughtful questions about my dog’s routines and quirks, and it was clear she genuinely cared about getting everything right. Throughout the stay, she sent consistent updates with pictures and little notes that showed she was paying real attention. My dog looked happy, relaxed, and totally at ease with her, which says everything. When I got home, my place was spotless, my dog was calm and content, and it was like I’d never left. Haley went above and beyond in every way. she treated my dog like her own, kept everything perfectly organized, and made the whole process effortless. If you’re lucky enough to get her as your sitter, don’t think twice. She’s exceptional.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
