“Nicole is very professional and trustworthy and did an amazing job with both of my dogs. I love the pictures that she had sent as well and the follow ups every time she came to visit. Both Dogs and I will look forward to using Nicole again- they were very happy when we returned!”

“Our dog Fitz has a fair amount of anxiety, and our recent move to a new house made him even more nervous. We were worried about leaving him to travel, but Maryann really helped with those worries! She really wanted to get to know Fitz and his situation before we left, and worked really patiently to get him more comfortable. By the time we came back, Maryann had really brought him out of his shell! She truly cares for the dogs she watches, and we would highly recommend her to anyone who wants their pets to be loved and cared for when they travel. We've already booked her to take care of our dog again!”

About: Hi, I'm Ella! I'm a lifelong animal lover based in Rhode Island, and I genuinely believe pets are family. My background is in public service and childcare, which has taught me the importance of responsibility, communication, patience, and creating a safe environment for the people (and pets!) who depend on me. Whether your pet loves long walks, endless games of fetch, snuggling on the couch, or simply sticking to their usual routine, I'm happy to adjust to their individual personality and needs. I understand how stressful it can be to leave your pet with someone new, so I make communication a priority. I'll always provide regular updates, photos, and plenty of reassurance while you're away. I have experience caring for animals with different personalities and energy levels, and I'm comfortable following specific feeding schedules, medication instructions, exercise routines, and household rules. When your pet is with me, they'll receive lots of attention, plenty of affection, and the same level of care I'd want for my own pet. I can't wait to meet you and your furry family members! I work full-time for the State of Rhode Island and work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. I'm also currently pursuing my Master's degree online through the University of Rhode Island, which gives me additional flexibility throughout the week. I'm happy to work with your pet's routine and schedule to make sure they receive the care and attention they need. Whether it's a quick drop-in visit, a long walk, or extra playtime, I'm committed to providing dependable and personalized care. I take the safety and comfort of both pets and their homes very seriously. Since I will be caring for pets in their own home, I make sure to be respectful of the space, follow the owner’s instructions carefully, and keep everything clean, secure, and well cared for. I also have experience working as a Property Manager for Universal Services LLC, which has given me experience with maintaining properties, keeping spaces safe and clean, and being trusted with other people’s homes and belongings. I understand the importance of being responsible, reliable, and respectful when someone is trusting you with their home. My goal is to make sure your pets feel comfortable and cared for while also giving you peace of mind that your home is in good hands while you’re away.
“Liana was an excellent caretaker. She immediately achieved my cat's trust and sent wonderful photos. Both cat and house were in excellent shape when I returned. I recommend her highly.”

About: Hii! I volunteered at shelters but I preferred building a relationship with pets in Rhode Island :) I grew up around many dogs and cats. A fun challenge was when we adopted our German Shepherd puppy! Training him was a fun challenge, but it was harder (yet more rewarding) when we adopted his brother as well! Now they’re grown and trained but I can still see the little puppy they are in their eyes! I also have a senior dog that needs extra care, but I love making sure she’s comfy and gets her massages. I work a hybrid 9-5, so I can make time mornings and evenings for pet care. On my work from home days I am more flexible to do care during the day. Weekends are fully available! In your home I would make sure pets are in their designated areas and can’t escape! Cleanliness is the largest thing I would keep in mind while making sure your pet is comfortable!
“Heath did an amazing job watching our pups! I have 3 dogs and one is a senior dog with mobility issues. All the dogs were happy and well taken care of. Heath was also very communicative, and punctual with all the drop in times. We will absolutely book him again for future persisting needs!”

“Stephanie was extremely professional and responsive when taking care of my cat. It’s clear from her photos and messages that she really took time to create a rapport with my cat, and that she genuinely enjoys animals. I will definitely contact her for future pet care!”

About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs since I was 10 years old. My first job was working as a cat sitter for my neighbor’s young cat, Monkey. I’ve stayed at neighbors houses to watch their dogs since high school, providing regular walks, enrichment, and love. I’ve worked with puppies as young as 10 weeks and dogs as old as 12 years. I’ve worked with pets with special needs and medication needs. Most importantly, I truly love animals. As my sister’s weenie dog puppy can attest, nothing makes me happier than having an animal curled up on my lap. Even if it means dealing with some scratches or disciplining, being around pets is always worth it! As a student, my schedule is super flexible. I’m happy to take care of pets whenever I can. I love early morning walks, so I’m available as early as 7:30 am. My house requires getting up a few flights of stairs, so large senior pups may struggle. Otherwise, any animals are welcome. I’m happy to stay at other folks’ homes as I know this often makes animals more comfortable. I’m flexible to whatever your house rules are!
“Erin took amazing care of our cat, Freddie. We loved the daily photos and updates that she sent and looked forward to it each day. We so appreciated knowing Freddie was doing well while we were away. Erin also played with Freddie and sent fun videos of playtime. I can't recommend Erin highly enough. I will certainly reach out again next time we need pet care!”

“Crystal is an AMAZING cat-sitter — five stars honestly isn’t enough!! From the very beginning she was super quick to respond and so easy to communicate with. Every single day she sent the best detailed updates with photos, which made us feel completely at ease while we were away. She truly went above and beyond — not only did she manage our cat’s diabetic care perfectly (special food and insulin shots handled flawlessly!), but she even left us a framed photo of our cat. Who does that?! 🥹 When we got home, we could tell our cat genuinely missed Crystal — which says everything. We feel so lucky to have found her and would book her again in a heartbeat!”

“It is so, so great to have a sitter that is not afraid of my zoo! As the owner of two cats, ten geckos, and ten snakes, all with different personalities ranging from shy to outright grumpy, I am very comforted by Rich's confidence in caring for them. I am a total momma bear when it comes to ALL of my critters (even the bitey ones), and I don't even worry while I'm away on vacation.”

“Mackenzie did a great job with taking care of our cat, making sure he gets to play while we’re away. She also kept us updated every visit. Thank you, Mackenzie! ♥️”
“Jonathan was a lifesaver when prior a pet sitter canceled last minute, and in a way I’m happy it turned out that way! You can tell from the minute you meet him he genuinely cares for your animals like they are his own and makes every effort to show it. He even crocheted a blanket for our kitty! My husband and I never had to worry a day while we were on our vacation because we knew our cats were in great hands. We cannot begin to thank you enough!”
“Anders went above and beyond caring for Pippa during the power outage! I really appreciated the extra care for Pippa, going so far as to make an extra stop one day to see if the power had come back on, and hunting down my recycling bin which had blown into a neighbor's yard. I would definitely have Anders watch Pippa again!”

“Carse was great with my two boys, even getting my shy guy out and rolling around on his back for belly rubs by the second visit. She was great and I’ll definitly re-book with her.”

“Meira was a wonderful sitter! She sent tons of videos and photos during each visit and was very attentive to my cat’s needs. My cat is usually slow to warm up, but Meira was able to pet her and play with her every time. She’s very professional. I would highly recommend her.”

About: I've been responsible for taking care of pets ever since I can remember- cats and dogs of all ages and temperaments. However, for the past few years I've been traveling a lot and so do not have any pets currently. Throughout the years, I've been a Vet Tech and adopted and fostered puppies through hospice dogs and several cats, and have had extremely friendly and reactive dogs. I'm willing to meet your pet where they are. I work from home and really enjoy my area of the world, so I tend to be a homebody during the week. I go for daily beach walks and enjoy swimming when it's warm enough. My neighborhood is great for walking, too. I love to get out and hike or explore on the weekends, but am also happy with projects around the house. High energy pups and couch potatoes are both welcome. I have a 4 foot fenced in yard and plenty of couch space. It's important to do what I can to help your pet be comfortable in a new environment, so I try to keep to their schedule as much as possible. I do have a large crate and room for you to bring your own if that works better. The ticks are out in force so please make sure your dog is on preventive. I cannot accept dogs with bite history or food/toy aggression.
“Natasha is great! She fed my pup who has several medications with his dinner and walked him after for a drop in visit. She even kindly washed his dish. Sounds like he gets excited to see her and I trust she will always come on time and take good care for my boy.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Riverside
Ashley was more than accommodating when we had to alter our trip last minute. She provided a mix of informative and fun information with her check ins. She was also comfortable and great with giving two of our cats medication. Our house was clean and our 5 cats were well taken care of while we were gone for 5 days. We were very happy with how sweet, organized, and loving she was with our kitties. We would definitely work with her again!

Nicole took excellent care of our cat Moe while we were away. She clearly understands his personality and needs, and they picked right up where they left off from her previous caretaking visit. We received daily updates with photos, which gave us peace of mind. Most importantly, Moe was happy and completely himself when we returned. I highly recommend Nicole - she did a fantastic job!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Riverside. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
