“Savannah did an excellent job taking care of my cat, Stanley. She was prompt, sent photos and updates each day, and overall did a great job caring for him. Would wholeheartedly recommend Savannah to any pet parent!”

“Leanne visited Mr. Shelby twice a day while I was away. She sent lots of photos and played with his favorite toys. This is the first time I have hired from Rover and not had a relative watch Mr. Shelby while I was away and this was the happiest he has been when I got home from a trip. I think he appreciated Leanne’s company and made a new best friend. I will definitely be hiring again. Without a doubt I highly recommend! I would even argue she is better than a relative watching him because sometimes relatives cut play time short, but Leanne was always at our home longer than the 30 minutes required which is so appreciated.”

“Diana did a great job with my puppy! I’m so thankful to have found her when I did to care for my puppy while I was on a work trip. Highly recommend booking if you’re looking for a sitter that’s responsive and communicative!”

“It is so, so great to have a sitter that is not afraid of my zoo! As the owner of two cats, ten geckos, and ten snakes, all with different personalities ranging from shy to outright grumpy, I am very comforted by Rich's confidence in caring for them. I am a total momma bear when it comes to ALL of my critters (even the bitey ones), and I don't even worry while I'm away on vacation.”

“Renee saved us when our planned pet sitter had a last minute emergency and could no longer come to our home to let out & feed our senior dog. Renee had no issue with such a last minute appointment and was absolutely wonderful. She asked great questions, kept us updated with her visit and took amazing care of our senior who has mobility issues.”

“Kyleigh is incredible!! She is reliable and easy to communicate with. I have a 4-month old high energy puppy and she is so active and hands on with him! She’s also not bothered by the piranha puppy biting phase! Kyleigh is very accommodating and goes above and beyond to make sure my puppy’s needs are met. She responds quickly to any questions I have and is in constant communication to make sure the puppy needs are fulfilled. She sends the cutest picture and video updates throughout her visit. I will absolutely be having her work with my puppy again!”

“Ashley was so kind to my cat while I was away. She was patient and loving with little feisty Inzo and she showered her with love and treats. Ashley followed house rules and left detailed notes of the visit and sent pictures. I would definitely recommend Ashley to take care of your fur babies! Thank you Ashley! :)”

About: I’ve been caring for animals for over 15 years and have owned cats, parrots, and reptiles throughout that time. I currently have four cats of my own, so I’m very familiar with different personalities, routines, and the importance of making pets feel safe and comfortable in their own space. While I haven’t had a dog of my own, I’ve been lucky enough to be an honorary “Auntie” to a handful of very special dogs belonging to friends and family. I have plenty of experience spending time with dogs, walking them, caring for them, and—most importantly—spoiling them with lots of love and attention. For years, I traveled frequently for work, which always made me hesitant to get a dog of my own. I knew I’d feel guilty having to constantly arrange care while I was away. Now that my career has calmed down and I’m home much more often, I’d love the opportunity to meet some sweet pups, get to know their individual personalities, and have a few honorary nieces and nephews to dote on! I know firsthand how important it is to have someone you genuinely trust caring for your pets while you’re away. I’ll treat yours with the same patience, attention, and affection I’d want someone to give my own. **Daytime Availability:** Monday through Thursday **Overnight Availability:** Any night except Saturday nights Saturday night stays may be possible with advance notice, depending on my availability I prefer to provide overnight care in your pet’s home. I believe pets are generally happiest and most comfortable staying in their own familiar environment, surrounded by their usual routines, smells, and belongings. Since I have four cats of my own, overnight sitting at your home is also the best fit for me. My cats are friendly with dogs, but they are not comfortable with other cats, and I want to preserve the balance of our established little pack. I own a two story home with plenty of rooms and a fully enclosed patio, which my pets love. However, because of my cats’ needs, I’m generally unable to host other cats in my home. I’m happy to discuss care for dogs and other pets on a case by case basis, with safety, comfort, and individual needs as the top priorities. I take trust and safety seriously and will care for your pets and home with patience, respect, and attention to detail.
“Kayla is the best! She takes great care of my staffy and sends thorough and timely updates. She always checks to make sure there haven't updates to his schedules, meals or meds which I appreciate.”

About: I have lived with, raised, and cared for multiple dogs at once for my entire life. I have grown up with retrievers, shibas, Rhodesian ridgebacks, and all manner of rescues. As a dog sitter, I have walked, played with, and done multi-day overnights with all kinds of canines, from timid greyhounds to rambunctious collies. I lead an active lifestyle and take my shiba for at least three 2-mile walks each day, plus weekend hikes and trips to the dog park. I am a freelance writer, so I have a very flexible schedule. The highlight of my day is walking my dog and, ideally, meeting new dogs along the way. I feel like Rover is the perfect way to spend time with dogs and help their time-pressed owners. I will follow any and all instructions left by the owners. I always keep dogs leashed, prevent them from eating foreign objects, and otherwise prioritize their safety at all times.
“Samantha checked on our senior cat twice while we were out of town for the holidays. Our cat was a little difficult for Samantha, which she handled wonderfully and kept us in the loop on what was going on. We will use Sam again if needed!”

“Jonathan was a lifesaver when prior a pet sitter canceled last minute, and in a way I’m happy it turned out that way! You can tell from the minute you meet him he genuinely cares for your animals like they are his own and makes every effort to show it. He even crocheted a blanket for our kitty! My husband and I never had to worry a day while we were on our vacation because we knew our cats were in great hands. We cannot begin to thank you enough!”
About: I've been responsible for taking care of pets ever since I can remember- cats and dogs of all ages and temperaments. However, for the past few years I've been traveling a lot and so do not have any pets currently. Throughout the years, I've been a Vet Tech and adopted and fostered puppies through hospice dogs and several cats, and have had extremely friendly and reactive dogs. I'm willing to meet your pet where they are. I work from home and really enjoy my area of the world, so I tend to be a homebody during the week. I go for daily beach walks and enjoy swimming when it's warm enough. My neighborhood is great for walking, too. I love to get out and hike or explore on the weekends, but am also happy with projects around the house. High energy pups and couch potatoes are both welcome. I have a 4 foot fenced in yard and plenty of couch space. It's important to do what I can to help your pet be comfortable in a new environment, so I try to keep to their schedule as much as possible. I do have a large crate and room for you to bring your own if that works better. The ticks are out in force so please make sure your dog is on preventive. I cannot accept dogs with bite history or food/toy aggression.
“My puppy was so well cared for! Liz is reliable, kind, and clearly great with dogs. I appreciated the updates and knowing Boston was happy and safe while I was away. I’d definitely recommend and will book again!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hillsgrove. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
