“This is the second time this year we’ve hired Bri to take care of our high-maintenance cats for an extended period of time. She always sends great report cards with photos showing how well she is taking care of them with lots of snuggles and playtime. We are able to enjoy our vacation knowing our cats are in such caring and capable hands.”

“It was a pleasure to have Susan look after our cat, Mara, while we went on vacation. Upon meeting her, it was clear she really loves animals and wanted our pet to be calm and content while we were away. Susan's updates were prompt, detailed, and had lots of pictures. We came home to a very happy cat and would gladly book Susan again in the future!”
“Stephanie did a fabulous job entertaining my cat over the holidays! Communication was great, and Stephanie patiently explained to this first-time Rover user how the app works. I could see in the many pictures how much my little girl enjoyed Stephanie's visits. Will definitely hire again!”

“Words can’t express how wonderful Liana was while watching my cat, Finnian, while we were away! Each update (and pictures) she provided truly showed how comfortable, safe, and happy my cat was with her. Liana is so kind and easy to communicate with, paid so much attention to what my cat liked (treats, toys, pets, etc). I felt totally at ease while away knowing he was SO well taken care of. I would love to utilize Liana again the next time we go away—she is wonderful!”

“Maryann was excellent, I would absolutely recommend her and rebook her again for my pet. I loved her updates and felt very reassured that my cat was being looked after so well!”

“Meira was wonderful with Deedles! Deedles doesn’t warm up to people very quickly, but within days she was flopping for scritches. Meira was great with sending detailed updates and pictures every visit. She was very responsive and left my place nice and clean. Thanks, Meira!”

“Sam made leaving for a few days comfortable and easy. We initially connected via video call to explain accessing the apartment and where all of Alder’s things (toys, devices, food) were… the reports had plenty of cute pictures… I felt total confidence in and comfort with Sam. And Alder seemed happy!”

“Our doggie looked sooo happy and rested when I got back & I know that’s b/c of J’s care. We have an older elderly dog with unique medical needs. This is the sitter you want their patience and care was excellent. Looking forward to rebooking them soon very soon indeed.”

“Kayla was an amazing sitter for our two cats while we were away! She really cared about connecting with them and spent time playing with them until they both warmed up to her. She even took a selfie with Stella toward the end of the week, haha; Stella was the cat that took longer to warm up to her :) I highly recommend Kayla for your pet sitting needs! I will definitely hope she is available when we're away next time!!”

About: While most of my experience has been taking care of cats, I do have plenty of experience caring for dogs when friends' families are away. At the age of 12, I would help my friend's family with taking care of their 3 large dogs and walking them when she was on vacation. I am currently taking evening courses at CCRI, so I have plenty of free time during the afternoons and weekends to spend caring for your furry friends! I make sure to keep all breakable items that may be dangerous for my pets at home behind closed doors, and when caring for others' pets I ensure to keep a close eye when bringing them outside. I also am able to safely crate bigger dogs and keep a firm grasp on their leashes when needed despite my smaller size.

About: I’m the first person my friends and family call when they need a sitter! I’m outgoing, engaging, and take pride in every task I do I have a lot of free time as I get out of work at 10am some days! I don’t work a full time job so I’m extremely flexible I live in a beautiful neighborhood on the east side of Providence with so many trails and walkable neighborhoods. I’m also open to coming to you for your needs!

About: I've grown up with family dogs and have been involved in their daily care for years. Through that experience, I've learned the importance of maintaining routines, providing regular exercise, feeding on schedule, and giving dogs the attention and companionship they need to feel comfortable and happy. I'm comfortable caring for dogs with different personalities and energy levels, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to provide a safe, reliable, and stress-free experience for both pets and their owners, with regular updates and photos along the way! I'm currently working full-time, but I have availability on weeknights and weekends! I'm willing to work on holidays as well and am happy to accommodate the owner's needs. I always prioritize a pet's safety, comfort, and routine. In a client's home, I follow all care instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and any specific preferences the pet has. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship while keeping their environment clean and secure. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners know how their pet is doing.
“This was Heather's first visit with my dog. She was communicative and understanding of his needs. Sometimes it takes him a little bit to warm up, and by the end of the visit, he was rolling over for belly rubs. I look forward to her staying with him in the coming weeks while I'm away!”
“Kaitlyn was wonderful with my shy, retiring cat. She knows how kitties work and was able to entice her out. She was easy to connect with and gave great updates to make the fur Mom happy. I will be booking her again.”

“Michelle was attentive to Ham and the experience, even for what was simple check-ins/feedings. Appreciated her thoughtfulness and communicativeness during the time she was looking after him. Would recommend and book again!”

About: I grew up on a farm so pets have always been my livelihood. I adopted my first cat at 9 years old and my first pig at 14. I’m currently working part-time, but that allows for my schedule to be flexible enough to make time for your fur babies:) just ask and we can find a time! Establishing trust with your pets is my number one priority! I will make an effort to accommodate them and pay close attention to their needs.

Another fantastic visit with Bri! It was such a relief knowing Max was in good hands while we were away. She was friendly, communicative, and clearly cared about making sure he was happy and comfortable. We came home to a content, well-cared-for cat and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We will absolutely book with Bri again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!

Maryanne was absolutely amazing and a truly dedicated animal lover. When we did our initial meet before my first booking she was so professional and clearly cared about the welfare of my little (big) man (cat). When she was at my place I could see that my cat was so happy to be with her. She is the best! I will be using her as my regular drop in when I’m away!

Kaitlyn was absolutely wonderful with my cats! She provided fantastic care, kept me updated with photos, and gave me total peace of mind while I was away. It’s such a relief finding someone so dependable and caring. I highly recommend her and will definitely be booking again!

Out of all the cat sitters we've used before, our cats bonded with Isabelle and legitimately look forward to her visits. Attentive, caring, and responsive service. She sends detailed reports and pictures and we were never in any doubt that our babies were well cared for. Highly recommend her.
Ben was such an attentive cat sitter to my three boys while I was away. He cleaned up a few messes, picked up medication, and communicated so well. I came home to 3 happy boys with clean bowls, an empty trash, and no weird smells (the dream return home scenario!)

Though I’ve been a cat owner for over 13 years, with a new kitten in the house, I decided to look for a cat-sitter for the first time. I couldn’t have asked for a better one than Crystal. She is personable, communicative and clearly loves cats. Most importantly, she spent a lot of quality time with my cat, Winnie. I appreciated the thorough updates and pictures along the way. Would happily recommend Crystal to cat owners in the area.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Providence. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
