“Nicole is very professional and trustworthy and did an amazing job with both of my dogs. I love the pictures that she had sent as well and the follow ups every time she came to visit. Both Dogs and I will look forward to using Nicole again- they were very happy when we returned!”

“Cristina was great with my four dogs. They warmed up to her very quickly and were very happy. I had Cristina come to my house twice a day to let them out and play in the back yard. She was on time and very reliable. Her communication was tremendous.”

“Mackenzie is the BEST — our rabbits are professional mess makers and we came back from our weekend away to a spotless bunny room & two very happy healthy bunnies! Thank you Mackenzie!”

“Second time utilizing Crystal’s services and she totally rocks. Definitely put my mind at ease that my cats were in good hands while I was traveling and greatly appreciated the daily updates and pictures!”

“Audrey was wonderful with our dog! She helped us with drop-in visits and an overnight stay. Audrey was communicative, flexible, and our dog clearly felt very comfortable with her based on the meet and greet and photos we received while away. We will definitely reach out to Audrey again in the future!”

“Karla is super flexible with scheduling and always available when I need her. I couldn’t ask for a more trustworthy and available dog sitter for my boys ! Oh and my dogs absolutely love her !”

“Amber was great! She suggested a meet n’ greet (why isn’t there a Rover term like Fur-st Impression or Wag n’ Sniff?!) right off the bat, which showed me that she is a professional. She was well organized and right on time for all drop ins. I loved the updates, so much so that I was disappointed when a family friend took over her care and the updates stopped! Amber is definitely a professional. She clarified a question she had about feedings and was a very positive person in general. Would definitely rebook.”

“Even was a good and communicator, and arrived at the appointed time to meet our dog Goose. He was courteous and solicitous of out dog’s habits. We look forward to working with him.”

About: I’ve been caring for animals my entire life, starting to volunteer at shelters at age 8. I regularly foster dogs through Paws New England, so I’m experienced with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and backgrounds, including those adjusting to new environments. I also have hands-on experience with anxiety and fear-based reactivity through my own dog, which has taught me patience, structure, and how to effectively read body language. While I’m not a certified trainer, I’ve spent years learning and applying positive reinforcement training methods and behavior management techniques. I’ve been vegan for decades and protecting animals and ensuring their safety and comfort is something I take seriously in every aspect of my life. I treat every dog in my care with the same attention, compassion, and respect as my own. I work from home, so your dog will have plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. I can accommodate different energy levels, whether your pup prefers relaxing and napping much of the day at home or getting out more frequently for exercise or enrichment. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a quiet, safe neighborhood that’s great for walks, with nearby trails and beach access for enrichment (if appropriate for your dog). I’m very mindful of each dog’s needs and temperament, especially those who may be anxious or adjusting. In my home, dogs are kept separate from my senior dog to ensure a calm, low-stress environment for everyone. I take introductions, boundaries, and routines seriously and always prioritize a safe, structured, and positive experience.
About: I've been responsible for taking care of pets ever since I can remember- cats and dogs of all ages and temperaments. However, for the past few years I've been traveling a lot and so do not have any pets currently. Throughout the years, I've been a Vet Tech and adopted and fostered puppies through hospice dogs and several cats, and have had extremely friendly and reactive dogs. I'm willing to meet your pet where they are. I work from home and really enjoy my area of the world, so I tend to be a homebody during the week. I go for daily beach walks and enjoy swimming when it's warm enough. My neighborhood is great for walking, too. I love to get out and hike or explore on the weekends, but am also happy with projects around the house. High energy pups and couch potatoes are both welcome. I have a 4 foot fenced in yard and plenty of couch space. It's important to do what I can to help your pet be comfortable in a new environment, so I try to keep to their schedule as much as possible. I do have a large crate and room for you to bring your own if that works better. The ticks are out in force so please make sure your dog is on preventive. I cannot accept dogs with bite history or food/toy aggression.
About: Hello, Nadine here. Looking forward to helping you and your pets needs. I am comfortable with all size dogs and look forward to meeting you soon. I am a dog mom, a full-time banker, and in my free time I enjoy long walks and everything and anything to do in nature. I am a proud owner of a miniature schnauzer, who is 15 years old. I am open to long walks, short walks. I understand work, life balance, and the stress of not getting home to our fur babies.
“Lindsey was amazing with my senior dog. She did two drop-ins in one day and was always on time and communicated before arriving and after she left. She sent pictures of my dog and did a great job! Would definitely hire her again!!”

“Sam was incredible. What was supposed to be a simple booking turned into my cat getting sick three days before my trip and needing medicine twice a day the entire time I was gone. Sam helped me feel at ease like my cats were in good hands the whole time, and was super communicative with everything. I will absolutely be booking with her again!”

“Mikey was a great choice to watch our boy, Radar. They were able to watch him last minute, which we were so thankful for. Mikey was on time and communicated well regarding meals, playtimes and potty breaks, not to mention they were super kind. They even cleaned up a mess one of our cats had made even though they weren’t part of the gig. We recommend Mikey to anyone looking for pet sitting.”

About: I’ve cared for cats dogs since I was a kid and it’s always one of my favorite parts of the day to see how happy they get to see someone familiar and to go outside. I currently work full time, but I’m available in the morning before work, midday around 4pm, and in the evenings for walks or general care like feeding and putting to bed. I will adhere to whatever preferences communicated and will always be thoughtful and respectful of your space and mindful of the needs of your pet(s).

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Barrington
Crystal watched our cats for a week and did a wonderful job taking care of them and communicating with us. We got detailed updates and photos every day, and when one of the feeders malfunctioned Crystal troubleshooted and made sure it was fixed before leaving. We also came home to a lovely card and a couple of new toys for our cats. I would book Crystal again and highly recommend!

Just got back today after Trey was looking after my cat for 3 days. Everything worked out swimmingly! I received daily check-in reports, the kitty seemed to accept him, and the more, ahem, sanitary chores were seen to. No doubt I'll use Trey's services again when I'm out of town.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Barrington. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
