During the Covid-19 pandemic, I took in a stray cat, who gave birth to 4 kittens, and I spent time every day ensuring each kitten was properly fed, the litter box was thoroughly cleaned, and the mother was well-rested. I also have a special charm for calming cats that helps with administering their medications if needed, even when others are unable to!

About: I grew up with black lab mixes, having at least one dog in the house all the time. I helped to raise two of the family black lab puppies through 15 years and care for the next generation, a 2 year old black lab/border collie rescue pup, teaching her to sit and lay down. I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs over the past few years, learning patience from puppies, strength from sweet old ladies, and the careful nuance that comes with leash aggressive rescues. I now have an adopted a rescue greyhound in the family. She loves new friends but is also perfectly happy cat napping wherever her bed lands. Happy to host or walk, with or without her company. I’m full time at home and so I am free to do breaks and provide limited entertainment between meetings, which are never more than 1.5h. This is the schedule I provide my own pup and would extend to others. I treat them as my own. I prefer to be over communicative with owners if any potential issues arise as well. Greyhounds react particularly poorly to negative feedback and punishment, so patience and focus on pawsitivity (particularly treats) is a standard with me.

About: Overview: I have always grown up with animals of all sorts, mainly small dogs, and now live with a cat and tortoise. I was the kid who memorized every dog breed, and wanted to visit the kennel and beg my parents for another dog. Our house was known as the place to house sit if a loved one was to go on vacation or anything. As an adult, I have lived with a cat each year that I could. Though these pets were pretty small in breed, it's actually my dream to get a dane or a similar sized and mannered big friendly giant. I spent a lot of my time at shelters, in nature camp, and at the nature center when I was a kid keeping all the animals safe. I have been that friend who pets immediately bond with when visiting someone's place for the first time. I love early morning walks, so I’m available as early as 7:30 am. My house requires getting up a few flights of stairs, so large senior pups may struggle. Otherwise, any animals are welcome. I’m happy to stay at other folks’ homes as I know this often makes animals more comfortable. I’m flexible to whatever your house rules are!

About: I had the enriching experience of living with a curious & stubborn miniature dachshund for 16 years - he was my “little brother”! As I matured I encouraged him to walk and was patient with interpreting his communication & his unique needs as he aged. I have also been able to visit with and care for a playful 3 year old chihuahua when I visit home in NJ. I am currently a graduate student in an occupational therapy doctorate program in Providence, RI. I am on my summer fieldwork which is full time in CT Monday - Thursday. Until August my Fridays are free, and I have minimal homework on weekends now so I am eager to get outside with some amazing dogs! I am not currently offering to bring your dog into my home for care. If I were to care for your dog in your home, I would abide by your ground rules and make sure we are in agreement before continuing.
