About: Hi, I’m Maddy! I’ve been around animals my entire life. I grew up with dogs and cats and have cared for my own pets throughout adulthood, including German Shepherds for the past 10 years. I live with my German Shepherd and two indoor cats, who are very much my babies, so I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pets with someone else, and I’ll care for them with that same level of love and attention. Horses were also a huge part of my childhood. I had my own horse growing up and cared for horses from fifth grade through high school, so I’m very comfortable around larger animals. I especially love big dogs and am comfortable with large or intimidating breeds. I own my home, which sits on an acre of land with a large, fenced backyard. There are no shared walls or homes stacked around us, so dogs staying with me have a private, peaceful space with plenty of room to play, sniff, and relax. I also work for myself, which gives me a completely flexible schedule and allows me to spend a lot of time at home with your pets. My goal is for your pets to feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely at home while they’re here. I’m happy to follow their normal routines, give them plenty of attention, and send photo updates so you can relax knowing your pets are happy and well cared for. I work for myself and primarily work remotely from home, so I have a very flexible schedule and am home most of the day. If I need to step out for work, it’s usually only for a few hours, and I’m never far from home. I also love being outside, so if your dog is an adventure dog, I’m always happy to have a hiking or outdoor buddy! For dogs who prefer to stay closer to home, my large, fully fenced yard gives them plenty of space to play, sniff, and enjoy some fresh air without needing to go anywhere. I’m happy to match your dog’s routine and personality, whether they want an active day of walks and outdoor adventures or a quieter day of backyard time, naps, and lounging around the house. Safety, trust, and creating a comfortable environment are my top priorities when caring for a dog. I know that being in a new home with a new person can be stressful, so I’m patient and give each dog time to settle in and get comfortable at their own pace. I also have personal experience caring for a reactive dog, so I understand the importance of paying attention to body language, respecting boundaries, and being proactive about potential triggers. If a dog is comfortable and enjoys other dogs, I’m happy to gradually introduce them to my German Shepherd, Klaus. If they prefer their own space, my home has plenty of room to keep dogs comfortably separated when needed. I’ll always follow your instructions and prioritize what makes your dog feel safest and most comfortable during their stay.

Jessica and Jack, along with their beautiful girls, gave Buddy the perfect “home away from home”. This was our first time having Buddy stay overnight with someone else and simply put, we couldn’t have asked for a better family. They showed Buddy so much love and cuddling along with daily check-ins and photos/videos - that this dog momma was put at complete ease while we were gone. We will definitely use them again!

I can’t say enough good about Melody. We would leave Gaia in her care any time. If she lived close to us and we were going away for a month, we would leave Gaia in her care and feel 100% secure. She has a lovely environment for a dog ( or a human), made our dog feel instantly comfortable, and showed her a really good time.

Fernanda was incredible! My boyfriend and I have separation anxiety I think more than our pup Walter does and Fernanda put us at ease so that we could enjoy our vacation. She sent us pics and videos and updates throughout the weekend. Our dog can be a handful as he has tons of energy but he had a blast playing in her yard and with her dog who was super sweet! I will 100% be booking with Fernanda again for our next time we need a sitter.

Alexis is a really considerate sitter who took the time to send us a lot of photos of Dory and also take her on a few walks. She has an enclosed yard which was handy and a very comfortable apartment - I have no doubt our dog slept on every cushion within jumping range. Would highly recommend Alexis and will contact her again in the future!

About: I have been surrounded by pets my whole life. Growing up, we always had dogs, cats, and birds. When I moved to the U.S, I lived in the country side with many dogs and thousand of birds (literally). Now, I have a little Chihuahua mix; he is like my baby. I also help my friends sitting their dogs when they are out of town. I love animals; I like to play with them and give them a lot of attention. I have experience administering medication to pets either orally or injectable . I am educated and trustful person who will respect your home and your pets. I am able to pass a background check if it is required. I have a cellphone and my own car. My husband and I both work from home, so your dog will never be left alone. Our jobs are very flexible, which means we can take your dog for walks during the day. I have a very friendly old Chihuahua. My house is big, comfy and very clean. It's at the end of a cul-de-sac, so there's no traffic.

Madison was amazing. She not only provided boarding for Ranger, she treated him like one of her own pups. She was extremely communicative, sent pics and videos, and played with him a ton. She took him on little excursions, and provided toys to play with. The most telling was when I picked him up, Ranger greeted me, but went back to give her some love also. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
