I’ve been trusted by friends, family, and neighbors to care for their pets and homes, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I’m an active person who loves getting outside, so whether your dog enjoys leisurely neighborhood walks, playing fetch, swimming, hiking local trails, or going on new adventures, I’m happy to match their energy and personality. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments—from laid-back lap dogs to high-energy adventure companions—and I’m committed to making sure every pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, my goal is to keep their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I’ll follow your instructions for feeding, exercise, medications (if needed), and any special care to ensure your pet feels comfortable and safe. I live on a large property with plenty of room for dogs to explore, play, and enjoy supervised outdoor time. We also have quiet dirt roads that are perfect for walks. For dogs who love getting out and about, I’m happy to visit local parks and trails like Richmond Hill, the River Arts District Greenway, Bent Creek, and other areas throughout North and West Asheville—always with your permission and only if it’s a good fit for your dog’s personality and activity level. I’ll also send regular photo updates so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, active, and well cared for.

“We couldn’t be happier to have found Alyssa and Bryan to love on our two doodle boys while we were away! From the moment they arrived, our pups were showered with so much care and affection. Daily hikes, endless ball throwing, and constant cuddles. Alyssa sent the best photo updates throughout their stay, which completely put us at ease and showed just how much fun our boys were having. When it was time to come home, our pups were actually sad to leave! The energy in their home and on their beautiful property is warm and welcoming, and Alyssa and Bryan are simply the most wonderful, loving people. We feel so lucky to have them to watch our boys!”

About: Growing up with two veterinarian parents, animals have been a central part of my life for almost 3 decades. I have extensive experience in caring for animals, including senior pets, and have two vets on speed dial! I work an on-call schedule largely from home, but there are times I am out of the house for work (usually 3-4 hours at a time). My dog is used to regular feeding hours, daily walks, and plenty of outside yard time. Your dog will have access to a fenced in yard, a friendly black shepherd for company, and plenty of couch space to rest. There are options for ball throwing, squeaky toy cuddling, and lots of air-conditioning vent laying. Feel free to drop off your pups favorite treats as well!

“Alexis was a great host and Max came back happy and relaxed! She sent reliable communication and was super easy to coordinate schedules with. Will recommend and will book again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Woodfin
Madison was amazing. She not only provided boarding for Ranger, she treated him like one of her own pups. She was extremely communicative, sent pics and videos, and played with him a ton. She took him on little excursions, and provided toys to play with. The most telling was when I picked him up, Ranger greeted me, but went back to give her some love also. I'll definitely book with Madison again.

Cindy was the ABSOLUTE BEST. I have never felt this secure leaving my dogs under someone else’s care. She was so sweet and attentive, and made my nervous pups so comfortable. They seemed to have a great time there. She gave me the nicest photo updates too. I think I just found my go-to sitter in Asheville. 1000/10 recommend ♥️🥰🐾

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
