âNate took great care of our two dogs while we toured the Biltmore House. His place is very dog-friendly with a fenced yard and access to the house and yard. Thanks, Nate, from both of our boys.â

âKristin was wonderful! We reached out with a last-minute request as our pet sitter for a wedding fell through and she was extremely accommodating. Our dog, Trooper, had never been watched by anyone outside of family before so we were a little nervous but he was in great hands! We would highly recommend!â

About: I have two dogs at home. I have taken my oldest to puppy kindergarten when he was little and trained him and also trained my other dog as well. They are well trained and behaved. I am currently out of school and am looking for some side work while I try to get a other job. I have house and pet sat and babysat in the past so this would be easy. I have a beautiful big fenced yard to play and two very sweet dogs(one 12 year old boy and one 4 year old girl). I have a nice walk from my house I go on with my dogs often.
âApril was amazing with our dogs! She was very communicative and sent update photos to show us how much fun and relaxation our dogs had at her home. Highly recommend booking with April!â

âTeresa was amazing with our GiGi! We were in from out of town and wanted to spend the day at the Biltmore. Teresa watched GiGi for the day. She was very flexible with our timing needs. She kept us updated with pictures of our dog during the day. We would definitely have Teresa watch our gig again!â

âBooked last minute and Golda was kind and caring. She watched our dog Riley while we went out to dinner. She was professional and stayed in communication. Couldn't ask for anything more.â

âTino had the best Day in West Asheville!! Jennie was so welcoming and has a great space for dogs to play and relax! We are looking forward to another visit!â

âIt was good having someone so close to where Iâm staying. I completely trusted her with my girl Zoe. I only had to leave Zoe for 3 to 4 hours when I was working and it completely slipped my mind at rest. I highly recommend Vicki and will absolutely use her when I can againâ

âGreat daycare service! Brody was very easy to communicate with and was able to fit us in due to a last minute cancellation by our usual rover sitter. He had a great yard for the dogs to play in and gave us updates throughout the day. If we are visiting Asheville again, weâll definitely use Brody again :)â

About: I have had dogs, cats, birds, and much more animals my entire life. I love taking care of animals and have done it for friends and family for years. Iâm very active and love walks and runs! I have 3 animals of my own including 2 dogs and a cat. I have taken care of baby, Senior, adult, healthy, and sick animals. Iâm an animal lover and love meeting new people and animals. I have a lot of knowledge with animals for the simple fact that I have been around 100âs my entire life, from saving strays to having pets. I live in Weaverville and would love to help out with taking care of your pet or pets! I work all day but could be flexible. Im a personal trainer, my hours are 4am-2/3pm. I am available with at least a week notice. I can help on M-F and weekends with drop ins and walks. I have a yard as well as 2 friendly playful dogs. I have crates as well as separated floors that are gated off in my home that always help.
About: Iâve been in the animal care industry for 20 years with experience with cats, dogs and horses. Caring, reliable, and honest, detail oriented animal lover. Experience with administering medications, puppy training methods and senior animal care. My schedule is very flexible so I have ample time to spend with your pet. I have availability spread between weekdays and weekends, so reach out and I will do my best to meet your petâs needs. I am very detail oriented and do well with keeping a routine schedule for your pet. From feeding practices and walking to playing with them and their preferred enrichment activities, Iâm happy to maintain your petâs routine environment to the best of my ability to keep them safe and happy.
âMilendi is incredible! So warm, friendly, and kind :) She took very good care of my dogs, and even brought them along on a hike in the few hours that she watched them. Could not ask for a better sitter!â

âStephanie was very sweet and patient with my baby and I am so appreciative. She sent me updates throughout the day which I enjoyed. She was accommodating to my hectic schedule.â

About: As a remote Registered Nurse (RN), I bring a clinical eye to pet care. I notice subtle changes in behavior or health that others might miss. Iâm comfortable administering medications in any form, from pills to inhalers, and my own pets are on daily medication routines so itâs second nature. My background in farming gave me hands-on experience with animal health and handling, and Iâve worked with my own dogs on training from puppyhood. Iâm home all day, every day, so your dog gets constant attention and care, not just a place to play and sleep. I work from home Monday through Friday, 9 to 5, with a flexible schedule that gives me plenty of time in the mornings, evenings, and throughout the day. I have lots of time for walks, potty breaks, and playtime, and my job allows me to step away whenever your pup needs attention. I can work from my office or the couch, wherever your dog is most comfortable. On my days off I tend to stay close to home, and if I do need to run an errand I wonât be gone long and can always accommodate you and your dogâs needs. I share my home with three animals who are very well loved. Haddie is my 7 year old spayed terrier mix, about 22 pounds, and my two cats are Zuzu, a spayed senior, and June, who is 4 years old and also spayed. Each of them has their own dietary and medical needs, so Iâm already in the routine of specialized diets and medications. Your dog will fit right into that level of care. Haddie goes out every two to four hours and we walk together every day. Thereâs also plenty of backyard playtime. The backyard is not currently fenced, but a fence is going up soon. In the meantime I have a post with a long leash line in the yard and keep Haddie on a harness. I am always outside with her when using the leash line and never leave her unattended, and will do the same for your dog. My home is clean, open, and pet friendly. The furniture and beds are fair game for your dog. I do have a dedicated cat room with a gate that only the cats can fit through, so they always have their own safe space. All of my houseplants are pet safe as well. I also live at the end of a dead end street near the cul de sac, so itâs a quiet area with only local traffic and no busy roads nearby.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Woodfin
We had a last minute need for a dog sitter and Jen helped us out greatly!! Our dog, Macy had a great and comfortable time! Jen was great with communication when we were running behind or needed to pick up early. Once again, greatly appreciated her helping us out!!

Jenny and Franklin were really great with Moxie my 10 year old black lab for a day of doggie sitting at their place. Moxie has some special needs and they were very attentive to what she needed. They sent pics and updates and I felt very comfortable having Moxie in their care.

Shannon and her husband were very warm and friendly!! They also took a really last minute commitment for me!! Which I normally don't do, but found myself in a jam!! Anyway, Bruno took to them right away!! Sometimes he will look back and not want to go with certain people, but with them he was happy to go with them. He came home happy well cared for and well loved!! Also they took tons of great pics of him as well!! Thanks again for your help!!

Think of doggy day care as your dogâs fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0â7 kilograms and/or 7â18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pupâs socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dogâs pack, check the sitterâs profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dogâs vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitterâs care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, youâre adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
