There were 2 days of our 16-day vacay that we needed a reliable pet sitter for adventures we couldn’t bring Ezra on: zip-lining in Barnardsville and driving the Blue Ridge Parkway in a 2-seater Polaris Slingshot. Even after a considerately planned meet-and-greet the afternoon before his 1st stay with Paul, Ezra was a little nervous after we dropped him off. Thoughtfully, I received updates and videos to keep me posted. Paul and his fiancé worked with him to build trust and also Ezra’s confidence. By day 2, Ezra did not want his stay to end at pick-up time! When he finally did get in the car, he was happily exhausted and slept the entire drive home. About: Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them is something that comes very naturally to me. I recently said goodbye to my own dog after 18 wonderful years together, and that experience deepened my understanding of the love, patience, and attentiveness our dogs deserve at every stage of life. About: Between us, we have always had an animal in our lives - from ferrets and horses to cats and dogs. Pets simply make life better and there’s no better way to thank them than to shower them with love and affection. Your fur baby is guaranteed to be excited when they need to stay with us. Nichole was a professional dog walker in Boston before moving to Asheville, so she has experience with all sizes and temperaments. Jackson is certified in American Service Pet training as well, so you can rest assured they are in good, capable hands during their stay. We both work outside of the home - Jackson as a maintenance worker and Nichole as a doctor - so our fur babies are usually lounging inside or in our fenced in yard or inside for 4-5 hours per day. Although we love all pets, please don’t book with us if your animal needs constant supervision. On the weekends, we love spending time out in nature, especially around bodies of water and would love to safely bring your pet along. When you trust us to watch your animals, we’ll follow whatever rules you’d like. They can run around in our fenced in yard or stay inside. We have a large crate as well if your animal prefers that. We have a Bernedoodle that loves playing with new friends, as long as they are not aggressive. We have two indoor cats that love playing with our dog, but would also not do well with an aggressive or prey-driven dog. We love to train dogs as well and are happy reinforce the work you are doing while they stay with us.
About: I have 4 years of kennel and veterinary experience. I have experience with old and young dogs and administering medications/caring for elderly animals with extra needs. I also have experience with aggressive and skittish dogs and cats from many years of volunteering at the Humane Society. I have groomed dogs of varying size while working at the kennel and can handle different breeds coats and needs. I have 3 Siberian Huskies of my own. I take them for an hour walk everyday and I am more than happy to include your pet in that routine. If they prefer to go on walks by themselves I can make time for that as well. I am available at any time of the day because I work from home. I am happy for them to stay in my home or I can come to you if your dog is more comfortable in their own environment. I have a fenced in backyard at my house and my dogs love to play with new friends. They always do a good job of making other dogs feel included and welcome. Luckily they are not territorial in any way. My dogs have free rein of the house. I do not crate my pets because they are luckily respectful of the house when I am not there. I have a medium sized crate from when they were puppies, but if you need your dog crated and they are a large dog you may have to provide your own! I monitor my dogs all day, if I do leave them it is to go grocery shopping or for a quick workout, I will never leave your dog for more than 2 hours. I am also very happy to update you throughout the day with pictures and videos so you can see how your baby is doing:)
