West Asheville Pet Sitting & Care
I’m Kristin Hendrix and I live in West Asheville, 10 minutes from downtown, the Biltmore, and the North Carolina Arboretum. I have been pet sitting for twenty something years, full time since 2020. I am a ceramicist and a River Arts District Artist out of my home studio. I make pottery and hang out with doggos. I have a large fenced in back yard and the dogs love catching some rays on my back deck.

We contacted Kristen last minute for a daycare stay for our boy Gus. She responded immediately and the visit went really well. Gus seemed happy and content when we picked him up that evening. Thank you, Kristen! We will reach out again when needed :)

Im so glad we found Kristin. She was so kind and caring with our old dog, who isn’t used to being without her humans. I have nothing but compliments and would happily book her again.

Kristin was a pleasure to work with. My dog had little contacts with other dogs. She acclimated my dog to other dogs and took good care of her

Boots had such a great time! He's a nervous guy but Kristin made him feel right at home and took such good care of him. We will definitely be back!

Kristin is an excellent sitter and I’m very happy to use her services. Great communication and loving care for my little girl! Thank you!

Kristin was wonderful! We reached out with a last-minute request as our pet sitter for a wedding fell through and she was extremely accommodating. Our dog, Trooper, had never been watched by anyone outside of family before so we were a little nervous but he was in great hands! We would highly recommend!

Schedule
I primarily take small to medium dogs, most of my customers have been regulars since 2020 so everyone knows each other and they welcome new friends. I love companion dogs that like a lap to sit on, I have a quiet room for dogs that need their own space, and elderly dogs that just want a peaceful environment to nap. I don’t mind giving meds or little guys that are used to pee pads. I have crates, toys, and dog bowls available as well. I have a season pass to The Biltmore Estate so if you would like a drop off after a wine tasting or brewery crawl, that is available.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I have a large, fenced in yard and often leave the sliding glass door open so dogs have a lot of access to play and potty.
Pets
A typical day
I have a lot of success keeping dogs from having separation anxiety while in my care. I have a yard full of toys and we got out several times a day to chase balls and do laps around the yard.
- 0 to 15 lbsDogs over 1 year oldSpayed and neutered dogs onlyNo females in heatCrate-trained dogs onlyKristin can host up to 3 pets per night
- I am used to special dogs, as mine are as well! If they have some quirks or need medicine, that’s no problem. I treat every guest like I would my own spoiled rotten pups.
