About: I grew up with feisty terriers, and now have a high energy Dalmatian. I’m up for the task! It’s a pleasure to play hard, and get them tuckered out for cuddle time. By spending time with our Dalmatian, high energy pups will meet their match and older dogs will tap into their youth. Looking forward to it! I work from home, and already have dog-care built into my routine. Our fenced in yard makes it easy for them to run-around. Daily walks around the block. We have a fenced in yard, great for them to run free. We’ve got dog beds, fun toys and lots of fresh water always available.
About: Hi! I’m Celeste — your dog’s new favorite auntie 🐾 I’m a lifelong animal lover originally from Denver, now living right in downtown Asheville with my 5-year-old “puppy” (yes, she still thinks she’s a baby). We go on daily mountain walks, explore the city, and spend way too much time cuddling — so your dog will fit right into our routine. I’m dependable, nurturing, and super communicative. I’ll treat your fur baby like my own, keep you updated with plenty of photos, and make sure they feel safe, loved, and entertained the whole time. Whether your pup needs hikes, chill couch time, consistent structure, or someone who just gets dog personalities — I’m your girl. Can’t wait to meet your four-legged best friend! 🐶💛 My schedule is super flexible. I’m home most days and can accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits. Because I live right in downtown Asheville, I’m able to pop in quickly for walks, check-ins, or longer stays. I’m available weekdays, weekends, and holidays, and I can often take last-minute bookings. If you need consistent care, overnight sitting, or a recurring schedule, I’m happy to make that work too — just send me a message! In My Home: I create a calm, safe, and loving environment. I live in downtown Asheville with my friendly 5-year-old pup, and we follow a steady routine of walks, playtime, and mellow downtime. Visiting pets get the same treatment as my own — constant supervision, lots of affection, fresh water at all times, and a cozy place to relax. I keep my space clean, dog-proofed, and stress-free so every animal feels comfortable and at home. In Their Home: I follow your pet’s normal routine to keep them grounded and secure. I handle feeding, walking, potty schedules, medication (if needed), enrichment, and plenty of snuggles. I’m big on communication, so you’ll get updates and photos as often as you’d like. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and understood while you’re away — no disruption, just comfort.

“Kristin was great. This was Ranger first time at a doggy day care and Kristin was very understanding. She sent me an email that he was doing great and then a follow up picture. Thank you so much Kristin. Will definitely contact you next time we are in Asheville.”

“Stephanie was very sweet and patient with my baby and I am so appreciative. She sent me updates throughout the day which I enjoyed. She was accommodating to my hectic schedule.”

About: I grew up in a farm with many dogs, I have spent about my whole life taking care of animals. Family and friends have always relied on me to walk, feed, and look after their dogs. I currently am only taking online classes for my University due to hurricane Helene, so I am not very busy and have lots of free time. I have plenty of space in my apartment as well as have a dog park downstairs of my complex. Since I frequently look after dogs, I have the apartment dog proof.
“Miranda is fabulous - she takes great care of our pup Milo and he has a wonderful time at her home. We did a meet and greet first and Miranda answered all of our (helicopter pawrent) questions and made us feel at ease with him in her care. He gets to play with other pups in a safely enclosed backyard, gets lots of exercise & socialization with other daycare pups as well as human attention. Milo is now a regular at Miranda's!”

“Alyssa and Bryan took such great care of our two girls and they have come back happy and tired both times we’ve sent them! They kept us updated with photos and letting us know what they had been up to. They asked a lot of thoughtful questions about Zoe and Riley and I’m very happy to have found them to take care of my crew. They have a great space and yard for the dogs to play and explore, which was a big draw for me. Will definitely book them again!”

“Richard and his family (including dogs!) were very welcoming and accommodating. They have a great fenced yard for dogs and really seem to care about my dog's well-being in their care. They sent photos, including a great shot of Arlo with the Biltmore House in the background! A very special souvenir.”

“Jackie was the perfect match for watching our mini Aussie while we explored the Biltmore. We chose Jackie due to no other pets / no children and she lives close to Biltmore. Her experience working with dogs was important also. Ivey has separation anxiety and Jackie’s calming voice helped her acclimate. Plus the wonderful view and deck was added plus for Ivey’s entertainment. Jackie is an excellent communicator. Highly recommend her!!!”

About: I have cared for my own pets, and for friends pets, for as long as I can remember. I am completely comfortable with any age and almost any type of pet. When I was 16 I volunteered at a Vet office for over a year where I learned everything from injection to caring for sick and injured animals. I feel prepared for just about anything that comes my way. I’m happy to now offer dog boarding. We have 3 acres with 1 acre fenced in for the dogs to play. We are in a semi-remote location in East Asheville so there are no busy roads. We usually only take in friends dogs for boarding but we are opening up our home for dog day care or boarding. I usually would try and schedule my visits around my kids school drop-off and pickup. I can usually be flexible if there are special circumstances. I have a flexible work from home job that would allow me to schedule my day around your pets needs. Your rules are my rules! I am very respectful of the rules you have set around your pet. Whether it’s a strict diet or how you secure them in your home or no pets on future. You set the rules for your pet ;)
About: I grew up caring for dogs - small, medium and large, old and young - and have never lived without one! To me, a pup is an extension of the family and I love being able to take care of a wide variety of dogs. I do have one pup right now, who absolutely adores other dogs and is very friendly, cuddly and playful. I work from home so I'm available to pay attention to your pup all day long. After work, I typically take my pup for a long walk or to the dog park. On weekends I like to hike and would love to bring your dog along on my adventures! I have experience with puppies, senior pups and dogs with special needs/medications/allergies, etc so your pup will be comfortable and well taken care of with me! I work remote with a flexible schedule so can give your dog attention all day. I have a backyard and a beautiful park in my neighborhood so they will have plenty of walks. Im happy to work with your dog however you like, whether you prefer to crate them or let them roam the house, whatever is best for them. My dog is allowed on the furniture so if your dog is not please let me know and I will do my best to maintain that.
About: As a remote Registered Nurse (RN), I bring a clinical eye to pet care. I notice subtle changes in behavior or health that others might miss. I’m comfortable administering medications in any form, from pills to inhalers, and my own pets are on daily medication routines so it’s second nature. My background in farming gave me hands-on experience with animal health and handling, and I’ve worked with my own dogs on training from puppyhood. I’m home all day, every day, so your dog gets constant attention and care, not just a place to play and sleep. I work from home Monday through Friday, 9 to 5, with a flexible schedule that gives me plenty of time in the mornings, evenings, and throughout the day. I have lots of time for walks, potty breaks, and playtime, and my job allows me to step away whenever your pup needs attention. I can work from my office or the couch, wherever your dog is most comfortable. On my days off I tend to stay close to home, and if I do need to run an errand I won’t be gone long and can always accommodate you and your dog’s needs. I share my home with three animals who are very well loved. Haddie is my 7 year old spayed terrier mix, about 22 pounds, and my two cats are Zuzu, a spayed senior, and June, who is 4 years old and also spayed. Each of them has their own dietary and medical needs, so I’m already in the routine of specialized diets and medications. Your dog will fit right into that level of care. Haddie goes out every two to four hours and we walk together every day. There’s also plenty of backyard playtime. The backyard is not currently fenced, but a fence is going up soon. In the meantime I have a post with a long leash line in the yard and keep Haddie on a harness. I am always outside with her when using the leash line and never leave her unattended, and will do the same for your dog. My home is clean, open, and pet friendly. The furniture and beds are fair game for your dog. I do have a dedicated cat room with a gate that only the cats can fit through, so they always have their own safe space. All of my houseplants are pet safe as well. I also live at the end of a dead end street near the cul de sac, so it’s a quiet area with only local traffic and no busy roads nearby.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Asheville
We had a last minute need for a dog sitter and Jen helped us out greatly!! Our dog, Macy had a great and comfortable time! Jen was great with communication when we were running behind or needed to pick up early. Once again, greatly appreciated her helping us out!!

We were visiting the area with our dog and wanted a dog free day. Alexandra was able to accommodate us on short notice. I have been hesitant to leave my dog with other people as she's recovering from an injury but Alexandra took great care of her. I got updates on her during the day and she was happy and tired when I picked her up. I will definitely use Alexandra's services again when I am in the area.

Jenny and Franklin were really great with Moxie my 10 year old black lab for a day of doggie sitting at their place. Moxie has some special needs and they were very attentive to what she needed. They sent pics and updates and I felt very comfortable having Moxie in their care.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Asheville commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
