“Savannah was so wonderful with my very sassy kitty Zuzu. Zuzu can be a difficult girl with lots of particularities about her food. But Savannah was there to save the day for me. She checked in a pet Zuzu twice every day I was gone and sent the cutest pictures. Thank you Savannah for taking care of my heart!”

“We were extremely impressed and happy we found Jessie. He is a wonderful person, very professional, knowledgeable about dog training tactics, and very easy to work with. Jessie always sent notice when heading over to visit our dog and wrote through notes after each visit. Very guys communicator. He handled a few unexpected challenges with ease and a positive attitude. Our dog thrived under their care. We will definitely use Jessie again in the future. Highly recommended!”

“Excellent sitter. She dropped in 3 days while we were out of town to tend to our 2 cats. She was punctual and attentive. Also, very communicative and sent pictures of the fur babies. Highly recommend.”

“Benjamin is wonderful! Great communication and reliable. One of my cats is verrrrry shy and made himself known to Benjamin much sooner than he typically does, so I know they are very comfortable with him. I know my cats are in great hands when I am away!”

“Benjamin was a reliable and flexible sitter! I had some changes to my original request and he had no problem with it. I knew Modelo was in good hands. I would recommend Benjamin for your pet sitting needs.”

“I finally feel safe traveling without my boys thanks to Eliza! Eliza went above and beyond to spend time with both of my kitties and was even able to get my super shy one to come out and socialize which he desperately needs when we’re gone. I feel so relieved to know I have someone I can count on next time I’m out of town.”

“Joanna is such a phenomenal sitter! She provides excellent care while I’m away, with great updates and attentive service. HIGHLY recommend her for any of your pet sitting needs.”

“Chelsea did a great job! This was my first time using Rover ever, but specifically my first time with my new rescue who is dealing with hyper separation anxiety. Chelsea made this first trip go smoothly for both of us.”

“I couldn’t be happier with Natasha and how well she cared for our cats and sugar glider. She is very attentive, meticulous and our cats love her calming energy. So thankful to have found someone so kind and responsible that we can trust while we are away. Will definitely rebook with her again!”

“Not to be dramatic, but Louise is the best dog sitter I’ve ever had! My pup, Dolly, absolutely loves her and she’s always providing the sweetest most thoughtful updates and cute pictures. I always know Dolly will be well taken care of with Louise. I work long days in the summer months, so I need someone to give her exercise and attention during the day when I can’t. With other sitters I would come home and Dolly would still seem wound up, but she seems like she’s getting exactly what she needs with Louise. Couldn’t be happier with her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Asheville
Savannah came weekly to let my dog Miller out during the day while I was working in town the last few months. She always sent lots of photos and updates on how each visit went. Miller loved her visits every time, running around playing fetch with his favorite ball! Savannah had great communication and was able to do a few last minute requests when I picked up a shift. We really appreciated having her!

Maya took such good care of our dog while we were away. She was thorough in reading through all the care instructions I sent over and followed everything to a t. She sent plenty of pictures & provided regular updates. Our dog loved her & seemed to enjoy all her visits! We will definitely hire Maya again!

Jessie is the ultimate professional: a skilled trainer, compassionate, prepared and protective, kind and considerate, and always willing to go above and beyond to meet the needs of our animals, home, plants, and us humans. Jessie has cared for our pets and house on several occasions now, the most recent being for 3 weeks while we were out of the country. We could rest completely assured that Jessie was on top of whatever happened while we were away (the water being turned off to the house, severe storms!) and that our pets were in the best hands possible. We cannot recommend Jessie highly enough!

Shannon took the time and patience that our shy kitties needed. She was very communicative and shared more than average details after each check in. She also helped us out of an unexpected pickle and was able to fulfill duties, including medication administration, that were not part and f the original plan. We highly recommend Shannon for kitty-care!

Carolyn was the perfect sitter for our three cats -- she came on time every day that was scheduled and left us updates, and multiple pictures and videos! It was something we looked forward to every few days during our honeymoon! Carolyn was also very responsive and communicative.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Asheville. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
