“Megan was so caring for my pups! She kept in touch with updates and pictures, and made sure they got exercise and extra love in my absence. I definitely plan to use her in the future!”

“We were visiting Asheville and needed someone to feed and walk our dog while we were out for the evening. Joanna was the perfect choice! She made it so easy to set up a meet and greet prior and she took such good care of our dog while we were gone. The whole experience allowed us to enjoy ourselves and not worry. I would highly recommend booking with her!”

“Allison is wonderful and I would use her again without hesitation. She is very kind, communicative, and professional. She arrived on time and sent great pictures during the walk with Dixie. She clearly knows a lot about interacting with dogs and was quickly able to put Dixie at ease and win her trust. I felt completely comfortable leaving Dixie in her care!”

“Rosko loves walking with Chelsea! He's happy when she arrives, and gets all the sniffs he needs. She's walked him quite a few times, and she's very responsive and reliable.”

About: What sets me apart is my patience, attentiveness, and genuine love for dogs of all ages and personalities. I’ve had hands-on experience caring for dogs, and I understand that each one has different needs, whether that’s lots of playtime, structured walks, or just calm companionship. I’m comfortable caring for both energetic puppies and older dogs who may need a slower pace, extra patience, or closer attention. I can help reinforce basic training like leash manners and simple commands, and I always stay consistent with routines to help dogs feel secure and well-behaved. I also pay close attention to behavior and body language so I can respond quickly if something seems off. Most importantly, I treat every dog like my own, making sure they feel safe, cared for, and happy while you’re away. I currently work part-time and attend school, but I have plenty of breaks between classes and free time after school, so I’m able to give your pet lots of attention throughout the week. I’d love to care for your pet during those times and keep them company. I’m available for drop-in visits, walks, and feedings, and I can also stay at your home if needed. At the moment, I’m not able to host pets in my own space, but I’m happy to provide care in a way that’s most comfortable for you and your pet. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow all instructions closely, whether that’s feeding schedules, playtime, litter box cleaning, or any specific preferences your pet has. I make sure they get plenty of attention, affection, and a calm environment so they feel comfortable while you’re away. I also keep the space clean and tidy, and I pay attention to any changes in behavior to make sure your pet is happy and healthy. If needed, I can provide updates so you feel reassured while you’re gone. At this time, I’m not able to care for pets in my own home, but I’m very flexible with drop-in visits, walks, and in-home stays to meet your pet’s needs.
“Our dogs looked forward to Natasha's visit every day for their walks. She was a good communicator, arrived on time and I entrusted her with their well-being while out and about. We look forward to using her dog-walking services in the future. Thank you, Natasha!”

“Jen was absolutely wonderful taking care of my dog, Charlie! She's a lovely person and a blessing! She's my go-to person for future dog care needs in Asheville. Thank you, Jen!”

“John D is awesome and Ruby loves him! He has made such a difference in her! If you are on the fence about dog walking, it’s so worth it! I highly recommend John. He is also teaching her better manners on the leash. We couldn’t be happier with him and his great care of Ruby!”

About: I've been around dogs most of my life and have had two of my own in recent years. I recently lost my soul dog, Kavu. He taught me so much about patience and caring for a senior dog with cognitive decline and anxiety. I have a huge soft spot for grey faces. Extremely flexible work schedule and a student. Available most afternoons and evenings for walks or check ins. I can also offer a lot of consistency. I have been trusted by friends and family to take care of, walk, and spend time with their fur babies my entire life. I pay super close attention to detail and am comfortable with things like administering medications or feeding special diets.
About: While I have had dogs previously, I also worked as a kennel tech at a boarding facility, where I was in charge of caring for, administering medication, feeding, and playing with dogs and cats! I have experience with all breeds of dogs, as well as seniors and puppies alike! I am a college student so I do have class every day, but my schedule varies by day so just ask! I am available after 5 pm every day, and typically between 11-3pm as well! I can also do early mornings before 9 am. With my experience, I know how to handle cats and dogs very well. I will do absolutely everything I can to ensure your pets safety, and I will immediately reach out in case of an emergency.

“Ashley did a fantastic job taking care of our little fur friend! Pics were great and update was thorough. And all at the last minute! Highly recommend if looking for a caring, dependable pet sitter! Will definitely be using her services again. Many thanks Ashley!”

About: Between us, we have always had an animal in our lives - from ferrets and horses to cats and dogs. Pets simply make life better and there’s no better way to thank them than to shower them with love and affection. Your fur baby is guaranteed to be excited when they need to stay with us. Nichole was a professional dog walker in Boston before moving to Asheville, so she has experience with all sizes and temperaments. Jackson is certified in American Service Pet training as well, so you can rest assured they are in good, capable hands during their stay. We both work outside of the home - Jackson as a maintenance worker and Nichole as a doctor - so our fur babies are usually lounging inside or in our fenced in yard. That said, we always make sure one of us will be home when we have any pets staying with us. On the weekends, we love spending time out in nature, especially around bodies of water and would love to safely bring your pet along. When you trust us to watch your animals, we’ll follow whatever rules you’d like. They can run around in our fenced in yard or stay inside. We have a large crate as well if your animal prefers that. We have a Bernedoodle that loves playing with new friends, as long as they are not aggressive. We have two indoor cats that love playing with our dog, but would also not do well with an aggressive dog. We love to train dogs as well and are happy reinforce the work you are doing while they stay with us.

Cannot say enough good things! Isabella was communicative, timely, kind as can be, flexible, easy going, and just wonderful with my baby boy! She let him lead the way to his favorite walking place, indulged his sweet, silly, good nature, and had us at ease immediately. Thank you so kindly, Isabella!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
