Neil takes great care of Sita snd Otis! Sita, my mini Aussie, is anxious in nature and Neil knows how to work with her and makes sure she is comfortable. Otis, my golden retriever, loves people in general and Neil handles him with just as much care 🙏

About: As a former alpaca and goat farmer with over 16 years of experience, I thoroughly enjoy caring for animals. Watching with wonder with each new interaction and savoring the sweet moments of all living beings brings much joy. I currently work full time as a special education instructional assistant but I am flexible in the evenings (after 4pm), on weekends and during the summer. I take pride in following through with expectations with compassion and excellence. I also enjoy taking photos and sharing documentation of your animal’s wellbeing with you.

About: I cared for family dogs, cats & horses through childhood & my 20s. Here in Asheville, I've had two dogs (one at a time) for 13 years. I am attuned to safety & health first; then I focus on play/walking to provide fun & exercise for emotional, mental & physical stimulation. In addition to having food, water, shelter & a comfortable temperature, all pets need to feel safe, loved & respected. I am gentle, thorough, attentive, & caring, & I follow all instructions carefully. I have worked with puppies through senior dogs as well as my flighty, 52-lb. 6-yr-old reactive Pit Bull/Cane Corso rescue, whom I walk daily & hike with weekly. I've used the Behavior Adjustment & Doggy Dan training systems with this sweet companion, who had been abused & neglected before I adopted her at 14 months. I have done drop-in visits for friends for 10 yrs. & can give medications orally, in ears & as injections. Before a first service, I do a meet & greet to get to know you & your furry friend & learn about how your canine relates to people, other dogs, cats, squirrels & rabbits. Activiies include playing fetch, tug of war, food puzzles & your pup's favorites. I'm available for drop-ins and dog walking between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Also I'm free between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. I am a fulltime pet care giver. At this time, I do not stay overnight with pets in my home or my clients' homes. Instead, I do 30-minute drop-in visits and 30-minute walks in clients' neighborhoods.

About: I have two dogs at home. I have taken my oldest to puppy kindergarten when he was little and trained him and also trained my other dog as well. They are well trained and behaved. I am currently out of school and am looking for some side work while I try to get a other job. I have house and pet sat and babysat in the past so this would be easy. I have a beautiful big fenced yard to play and two very sweet dogs(one 12 year old boy and one 4 year old girl). I have a nice walk from my house I go on with my dogs often.

We were visiting Asheville and needed someone to feed and walk our dog while we were out for the evening. Joanna was the perfect choice! She made it so easy to set up a meet and greet prior and she took such good care of our dog while we were gone. The whole experience allowed us to enjoy ourselves and not worry. I would highly recommend booking with her!

About: Ever since I was little, animals have been a huge part of my life. Growing up on a small farm taught me not only how to care for animals, but also how deeply they become part of the family. I truly believe pets are our children, and they deserve the same love, patience, attention, and care we would give to any family member. One of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had was caring for my dog, Sophie, during the final year of her life after she was diagnosed with bone cancer. That time taught me so much about compassion, attentiveness, and the importance of making pets feel safe and comfortable through every stage of life. Caring for Sophie gave me extensive hands-on experience administering medications, injections, and following detailed care routines with patience and consistency. I understand how important it is to trust someone with a pet who may need extra support, medical care, or simply a gentler approach. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs, cats, and farm animals with all kinds of personalities and needs, and I genuinely love getting to know each pet’s unique routines, quirks, and comfort levels. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, anxious, senior, or needs specialized care, I always strive to make them feel loved, calm, and right at home. I also own a small handmade pet accessory business, Lumber Puppies. You may have seen me at local art and maker markets throughout the years! Being involved in the pet community has only strengthened my belief that our animals deserve thoughtful, personalized care and lots of affection. When your pet is with me, they’ll be treated like one of my own, with plenty of love, attention, belly rubs, playtime, and patience. I know how important peace of mind is when leaving your babies with someone else, and my goal is always to make both you and your pet feel completely comfortable and cared for. I am available every day of the week with a lot of flexibility and can accommodate last-minute changes. Let me know what your needs are, and we can discuss how I can help. While caring for your pets, you can feel safe knowing that I will always take the utmost care when in your home. I have a deep fear of someone carelessly letting one of my cats slip out the door. Because I have this fear for my own pets, I will ensure that it is not something you will ever have to worry about while your babies are in my care.

About: Growing up with several dogs I learned to appreciate the deep connection that animals provide from an early age. I have years of experience walking dogs (multiples included), boarding dogs at my home for family members and friends, and going on lengthy and level appropriate hikes with dogs. I love creating a welcoming environment for pets to have a comfortable experience away from their humans. :) I am available all mornings until 8:30 am for your early pet walking needs, and can board dogs at my home at any time during the week or weekends. I get off work in the afternoon and can provide playtime, feeding, and exercise around Asheville and specifically in the large city park next to my home. I am very comfortable crating dogs if requested. I do believe it creates a comfortable environment for them, but it is not required for them to stay with me. I do not have a fenced yard and they will be walked on a leash using the harness/leash requested and provided by the owner.

About: I care for dogs regularly through my pet sitting work, including feeding, potty breaks, leash walks, playtime, and basic training practice. I live with my own pets, including an energetic young pup, so I’m very comfortable managing puppy zoomies, reinforcing good manners, and keeping routines consistent. I have experience with different sizes and temperaments and always take time to read each dog’s body language so they feel comfortable and understood I prioritize pet sitting around my work schedule, ensuring that pets receive dedicated care when I’m off the clock. Whether it’s early mornings, evenings, or weekends, I make time to provide walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship. My goal is to maintain a consistent routine that keeps pets comfortable and cared for while balancing my other commitments. I care for every pet in a secure, stress-free setting, whether in my home or yours. In my home, I’ve established dedicated pet areas with clean, comfortable resting spots and safe play zones, while in your home, I meticulously follow your routines and guidelines—ensuring your space is respected and enhanced with pet-proofing measures. Open communication and regular updates mean you’ll always feel confident that your pet is safe, happy, and thriving.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
