“Morgan was great with Willie. She communicated well and sent photos to let me know how he was doing. Felt very confident trusting him to her care, and would absolutely use her again.”

About: As a former alpaca and goat farmer with over 16 years of experience, I thoroughly enjoy caring for animals. Watching with wonder with each new interaction and savoring the sweet moments of all living beings brings much joy. I currently work full time as a special education instructional assistant but I am flexible in the evenings (after 4pm), on weekends and during the summer. I take pride in following through with expectations with compassion and excellence. I also enjoy taking photos and sharing documentation of your animal’s wellbeing with you.

“Alex is highly recommended by us and our dog, Duncan. Before finding Alex, we have never trusted the care of our dog or house to anyone. We can’t tell you how thankful we are for finding Alex!”

“Very kind and communicative person. She seems to genuinely care for my dog. I appreciate her notes about their walks. She provides informative updates and details. I feel confident in her being the one walking my dog. I'm glad I found her!”

“Jennifer is a timely, professional, and communicative walker who went above and beyond taking care of my dog while I was working all day. I would highly recommend her services!”

About: I have two dogs at home. I have taken my oldest to puppy kindergarten when he was little and trained him and also trained my other dog as well. They are well trained and behaved. I am currently out of school and am looking for some side work while I try to get a other job. I have house and pet sat and babysat in the past so this would be easy. I have a beautiful big fenced yard to play and two very sweet dogs(one 12 year old boy and one 4 year old girl). I have a nice walk from my house I go on with my dogs often.
About: I cared for family dogs, cats & horses through childhood & my 20s. Here in Asheville, I've had two dogs (one at a time) for 13 years. I am attuned to safety & health first; then I focus on play/walking to provide fun & exercise for emotional, mental & physical stimulation. In addition to having food, water, shelter & a comfortable temperature, all pets need to feel safe, loved & respected. I am gentle, thorough, attentive, & caring, & I follow all instructions carefully. I have worked with puppies through senior dogs as well as my flighty, 52-lb. 6-yr-old reactive Pit Bull/Cane Corso rescue, whom I walk daily & hike with weekly. I've used the Behavior Adjustment & Doggy Dan training systems with this sweet companion, who had been abused & neglected before I adopted her at 14 months. I have done drop-in visits for friends for 10 yrs. & can give medications orally, in ears & as injections. Before a first service, I do a meet & greet to get to know you & your furry friend & learn about how your canine relates to people, other dogs, cats, squirrels & rabbits. Activiies include playing fetch, tug of war, food puzzles & your pup's favorites. I'm available for drop-ins and dog walking between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Also I'm free between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. I am a fulltime pet care giver. At this time, I do not stay overnight with pets in my home or my clients' homes. Instead, I do 30-minute drop-in visits and 30-minute walks in clients' neighborhoods.
“Jesse is absolutely fantastic! His demeanor and professionalism is outstanding. Sully loves getting good walks in while I’m busy with work. I will continue to book with Jesse anytime Sully needs it!”

About: Recently retired educator and my partner is recently retired Fire Rescue. We just recently moved to Asheville and have a great house with a huge fenced in yard. I’ve had dogs since I can remember- Great Dane, mastiff, shepherd, dobie, basset hound, catahoula, mastiff, dachshund, etc. I am a former horse trainer, bird owner, with a green thumb. Your dog will feel right at home. Free range, plenty of room indoors and outdoors. We walk 2-3 miles a day or they can lounge in fenced-in backyard. We're available for dog walking, daycare, overnight stays, cat and bird tending, - whatever your pet needs and whatever you need for peace of mind. Tons of references besides Rover. because we've been doing this for a long time! We take pet siblings :) We’re available 7 days a week for overnight stays. We’re available early morning and after 4 for daily walks. . Please tell me your dog’s routine so we can accommodate. We have a fenced yard and 1 dog who gets along with ALL dogs. Crating is fine as well. Dogs have free range of house and yard. Let us know your needs and we will accommodate. We're home most of the day, most days so we're here for you and your pet(s). We can drop in for a visit, cleaning and feeding or walk as needed. Our yard is completely fenced in and huge. Our dog are is very friendly and accommodating - she loves to have visitors and gets along with all dogs! Feeding time is always safe and secured as dogs are separated. I will hand feed if needed - sometimes they are a little nervous but I want to make sure they're nourished.
About: Hi friends and welcome to Asheville:) After returning from a two month road trip out west with our pup, I know the value of having someone watch your dog while you go explore! We know not all places are dog friendly and maybe you just want a day or two to yourself :) I live in Kenilworth - about 3 minutes from Biltmore Village, with our 1 year old Australian Shepard, Theo, and spend free time with him on the trails nearby. He’s quite active and I thought it would be fun for him to have a playmate, while helping you have some free time while you are here! Your dog would be the only one in my house (in addition to Theo) and I would never leave them unattended together. I would be honored to take care of your pup. Thanks so much! Cheers, Susan
“Madison walked/played with my dog on two separate occasions, for an hour each time. She was on time and completed Rover cards including pictures, which I really appreciated! We did a meet and greet beforehand, and I felt comfortable with Madison right away. I'll definitely be booking with her for any future dog walking or sitting needs.”

About: I love dogs, and spending time with them. I enjoy being around them from playing, to walking, or just hanging out. Taking care of the dog, owner, and property. I currently work full-time, but want to help families as they travel for the weekend. I would love to offer fair priced weekend pet sitting. Respectful, kind, and calm. I love all dogs, and will treat them like they are my own! Giving them attention, love, compassion, play time, and treating them with kindness!
About: Hi, I'm Austin. I love animals of all kinds, though I currently have none of my own, so I'd love to hang out with yours ;) I am very attentive to the needs of both you and your pet. I will follow directions precisely to ensure proper care and that I meet your expectations. I'm more than happy to accommodate you and your pet. I have had dogs and cats (and even a fish) all my life, except for the past few years when I have instead opted to love other people's pets as my own by petsitting for friends and family. Please allow me to show some of that love with your pet, and I promise that neither you nor they will be dissatisfied! Most importantly, I will ensure that I cater to the needs of your sweet baby. I want nothing more than to chill with and take care of your scrumptious muffkins (was that too much? nah, that's just how excited I get about the prospects of meeting your pet-eroni!) Please reach out and we can talk about details - I'm more than happy to answer any questions! If you’re wondering why my latest reviews are from 2021, it is because I stopped dogsitting for the past two years due to my previous work schedule. Now I’m back in action baby! Rest assured that I’m the same person as I was two years ago, with the same about of care and love for animals, so I still intend to provide the highest quality of care! I’m currently a graduate student pursuing a Masters in Social Work. I attend school all day Mondays and Tuesdays, and am unfortunately unavailable those days. The other days, my schedule tends to be wide open, so please, book a home visit or dog walk! When taking dogs on walks, I ensure that the leash, harness, and collar are securely fitted. When caring for them within your home, I will make sure to follow your directions to a tee.

About: Growing up with several dogs I learned to appreciate the deep connection that animals provide from an early age. I have years of experience walking dogs (multiples included), boarding dogs at my home for family members and friends, and going on lengthy and level appropriate hikes with dogs. I love creating a welcoming environment for pets to have a comfortable experience away from their humans. :) I am available all mornings until 8:30 am for your early pet walking needs, and can board dogs at my home at any time during the week or weekends. I get off work in the afternoon and can provide playtime, feeding, and exercise around Asheville and specifically in the large city park next to my home. I am very comfortable crating dogs if requested. I do believe it creates a comfortable environment for them, but it is not required for them to stay with me. I do not have a fenced yard and they will be walked on a leash using the harness/leash requested and provided by the owner.

“Tess has been extremely friendly, very responsive and was great with our big dog and finicky cat. Tess was also available on very short notice and willing to extend the time if needed. We will definitely use her pet services again soon, she is highly recommended.”

“Alice was wonderful! Quick to respond, punctual and my dogs are so happy. She was even able to handle my 150lb dog! I will certainly be booking her again and I can’t recommend her enough!”

Simone was timely, detailed, friendly, and made instant positive connections with our three dogs - a young boisterous fellow and a very gentle senior dog. She was respectful, engaged, and asked excellent questions that built my confidence. I look forward to booking with her in the future!

- 95% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
