“Elizabeth took great care of our cats while we were away. While they’re too shy for socializing, she ensured that their food, water, and litter boxes were maintained. We would recommend Elizabeth and schedule with her again!”

“We needed an immediate fill in as our usual sitter had an emergency. I reached out to several sitters and Savannah was the first to respond. We had a great conversation and she offered to come over that afternoon for a meet and greet. During the meet and greet, my pups took to Savannah quickly and I felt comfortable with continuing on with the booking. Savannah was great with checking in on the pups in a timely manner and providing us with updates on our rascals. Needless to say, the pups appeared to have had a great time with Savannah! Even when they had an accident, Savannah informed us of the incidents and what steps taken were taken. Without hesitation, I'd rebook Savannah for our pups!”

“Mersadi was awesome with Casper, who can be very intimidating to some, and detail-oriented with Buddy, who's kind of picky. She communicated very well, and was punctual. I'd 100% recommend her to care for your pets!”

“I truly don’t have enough words to describe how wonderful our experience with Alex was. We were on vacation with our fur baby, and from our initial meet-and-greet to the thoughtful picture updates he sent during his visit, everything exceeded expectations. He even went out of his way to come to our cabin and walk her while we were out exploring. If you’re looking for someone in the Asheville, NC area, I highly recommend him!”

About: I have been taking care of other people's animals since middle school and just love getting to know your pets! Experience with dogs, cats, horses, chickens, goats, and fish! Willing to take on pets with medical needs! I work 40 hours over 5 days days a week. I am typically away from the house from 9 am - 5 pm or 11 am - 7 pm. Depending on your location, I may be able to pop back to the house on my short lunch break. I am comfortable walking your animals on leashes, pushing them in strollers, using a treadmill, playing with them in the yard, or whatever else is your routine and preference!
About: I always seek to understand and meet a pet’s individual needs and schedule. I’ve cared for cats and dogs of all sizes. I always abide by the owners instructions for care, and will constantly keep an eye on a pets body language to ensure they aren’t stressed or exhausted.

“Jenna was great! I was moving most of the day and needed someone to come check on my babies. She was so responsive and her recap of the visit was detailed (and super funny). I would definitely recommend her to other pet parents!”

“It was really lovely to go on vacation and not worry about the care that our animals were receiving. Neil was prompt, sent pictures daily and when we got back our animals were calm and we could tell, well cared for. Thanks Neil!”

“Benjamin was extremely kind and understanding when we had to cancel in the middle of the booking due to an emergency! We will definitely be booking him again in the future.”

“I couldn’t be happier with Natasha and how well she cared for our cats and sugar glider. She is very attentive, meticulous and our cats love her calming energy. So thankful to have found someone so kind and responsible that we can trust while we are away. Will definitely rebook with her again!”

“Marissa did a great job. She persevered when my big dog wasn’t sure about letting her in and then quickly gained his confidence. Got lots of photos and animals looked well fed and happy. All instructions followed. 10/10”

“Zaq is an incredible cat sitter! He watched my two cats while I was gone and was very communicative and sent pictures of them every visit. I highly recommend him! Will definitely be using his services again next time I have to leave my kitties at home”
“I am so happy we booked with Sarah! Not only was she timely and responsible, but she was a great fit for Piper! She sent several pictures during each visit and gave a thorough update every time. It was clear she spent lots of time time playing with Piper - she didn’t just feed her and leave. She also watered some of our plants. We are so thankful for Sarah and plan to book with her again!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Happy Valley
Jen has been an exceptional pet sitter for our cat on several occasions. Her consistent ability to show up and provide comfort and daily task to Miss Pipi Ann has brought peace of mind to our family during a difficult time. Jen has taken ownership of the duties and shown total respect for our home. She bonded quickly with our senior feline and reported daily on her well being. We will absolutely continue to have Jen in our home and seek her out when care is needed for our most precious fur baby.

Jessie is the ultimate professional: a skilled trainer, compassionate, prepared and protective, kind and considerate, and always willing to go above and beyond to meet the needs of our animals, home, plants, and us humans. Jessie has cared for our pets and house on several occasions now, the most recent being for 3 weeks while we were out of the country. We could rest completely assured that Jessie was on top of whatever happened while we were away (the water being turned off to the house, severe storms!) and that our pets were in the best hands possible. We cannot recommend Jessie highly enough!

Benjamin was a wonderful pet sitter! We recently moved to a new neighborhood and needed to quickly find a new cat sitter. We are so pleased to have chosen him to care for our finicky cat Flo Flo while we were away on a family trip. He was reliable, punctual and very easy to communicate with. He went above and beyond to help with checking on some small house tasks as well. We are so pleased to have a new friend and reliable pet sitter right down the street in our new neighborhood! Thank you Benjamin!

Carolyn was the perfect sitter for our three cats -- she came on time every day that was scheduled and left us updates, and multiple pictures and videos! It was something we looked forward to every few days during our honeymoon! Carolyn was also very responsive and communicative.
We are very happy with the level of care Margaret provided our two one-year-old sister kitties. She was thorough - fed, watered and played with our kitties and sent us pictures daily. It was the first time being away from our girls for a few nights and Margaret did a great job looking after them and keeping us updated, so we could totally enjoy our vacation. We highly recommend Margaret when you need a pet sitter!

Liliana was amazing! She communicated with me weeks before her visit to take notes and confirmed everything again the week she came. She sent tons of pictures during her visit and it’s clear my furbaby was smitten with her! I will definitely book with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Happy Valley. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
