“Dara was great! This was the 2nd time she watched Toby (cat) and was very responsive and thorough. She sent detailed updates for each check-in and sent many pictures. Would trust her in our home again and with Toby again! Highly recommend.”

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was five years old. I still distinctly remember the breeder of the first dog I ever owned - a chocolate lab named Ginger - looking me in the eye after seeing I was apprehensive about the dogs and telling me, "Son, some day this dog will be the best friend you ever had." Ginger and I went everywhere together. I've had dogs and cats virtually my whole life, and the animals love me. While I am employed full time, I work in a hybrid setting that includes roughly 3 remote days per week, so I can be pet sitting on site and developing as close a band as I can to alleviate the babies' separation anxiety. I aim to please - if you'd prefer for your fur baby to be crated at night, then I will make sure s/he does that. My only job, other than to make the babies' experience as smooth as possible, is to follow the directions laid out by the owners.
“Haley is THE best!!! She was so great with my babies and patient when my dog was a little uneasy on her first visit! Always on time and responds to texts in a timely manner. She was willing to adjust to a changing schedule as well. I will definitely be requesting her again and always! She deserves more than a 5-star review!!!”

About: I’m very attuned and sensitive to animal body language. Dogs tend to love me at first sight—and the feeling is mutual. 😂 I’m like the cool auntie who’s always ready to play, but I am also super observant and can see when a dog is tired, overstimulated, cranky, etc. I don’t take animal behavior personally. I just watch and respond. Until the hurricane I was volunteering at Brother Wolf, walking every kind of dog from the super leash-pull-y to the “just want to sit in the shade and never go home.” I have my own business as an editor and copywriter. I make my own schedule and often work from home, so short notice could work IF it’s in the Weaverville/N. Asheville area. With more advance notice, I could clear my schedule or plan it around your pet care needs. As much as I’d love to offer boarding services for dogs, I have a sweet cat at home who would not appreciate this. :) Instead, give me all your intricately detailed instructions, your pet’s weird quirks, and whatever other anxious pet-parent stuff you want me to know. I will hold it all, follow it to the letter, be so sweet to your baby—plus I’ll send you photos to keep you updated. I also like to leave a note when I’m done to let you know how we did. If your lil’ buddy needs more constant companionship, I can bring my work to your place! I don’t even need WiFi, I can hotspot from my phone. 🙌🏽
“We are so happy to have found Kumiko for our pet-sitting needs! She exceeded our expectations for prompt and friendly communications as well as thoughtful care for our fur babies. I can't recommend her highly enough!”

“Kate really came through for us last minute. She was very thorough at introduction asking questions to make sure we were on the same page for the care of our pets. Her check-ins were detailed and included photos. We will book with Kate again ! Thank you so much Kate !”

“Becky did an amazing job with Muffie❤️ What a piece of mind to leave the care of our fur baby with such a loving, kind, and professional animal lover! Muffie had a great time with Becky:) she was played with, and walked each day! Muffie looked forward to Becky coming over. Highly recommend and will use Becky each time we are needing a loving and caring sitter for our baby!”
About: I have had a multitude of animals since I was young, which has led to many years of experience. I currently have a pet cat and dog. I’m a very active person and love going out in nature for walks and requests for longer walks beyond the 30 minute allotment are definitely welcome! I would love to build a strong relationship with the pets and owners I interact with to help build my experience even more and make your pets comfortable with a familiar face. I have a dog of my own that I walk and I’m a stay at home mom, which allows my schedule to be relatively open. In my clients home I will make sure the pet’s needs are met 100%. This includes making sure they have plenty of water, food and have had an adequate potty break. I will also play with the pet as long as their owner is okay with that.
“Jessie went above and beyond to get to Winnie and give her a couple great walks and provide great feedback. A snow wall was not enough to keep him away. Thrilled with our first rover experience thanks to him!”

“I couldn’t be happier with Natasha and how well she cared for our cats and sugar glider. She is very attentive, meticulous and our cats love her calming energy. So thankful to have found someone so kind and responsible that we can trust while we are away. Will definitely rebook with her again!”

“Miranda was great with our cat Jasper while we were gone. She communicated well, was timely with her visits and won over his little feline heart. Would certainly recommend her services to anyone.”

About: I’ve owned and cared for animals since I was a small child. We’ve had everything from parrots, chickens and fish to dogs cats and snakes. I regularly house sit and pet sit for friends and family. I also have cared for animals every day at the Brevard Zoo and have cared for others at previous jobs such as the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Zoological Park, the May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and the Avian Conservation Center: Center for Birds of Prey. Currently I work for the ASPCA with fearful dogs as a care and enrichment technician. Currently I work for the ASPCA with fearful dogs as a care and enrichment technician. Outside of the general care and husbandry duties I fulfill daily I also have pets of my own. I am unable to host other’s animals in my own home due to being a renter, however in your home I will follow any and all rules set up for your pet’s safety / general house rules or any special requests. I understand your pet’s happiness, health, and safety is of the utmost concern when you are away from them and I strive to meet all their needs.
About: I cared for family dogs, cats & horses through childhood & my 20s. Here in Asheville, I've had two dogs (one at a time) for 13 years. I am attuned to safety & health first; then I focus on play/walking to provide fun & exercise for emotional, mental & physical stimulation. In addition to having food, water, shelter & a comfortable temperature, all pets need to feel safe, loved & respected. I am gentle, thorough, attentive, & caring, & I follow all instructions carefully. I have worked with puppies through senior dogs as well as my flighty, 52-lb. 6-yr-old reactive Pit Bull/Cane Corso rescue, whom I walk daily & hike with weekly. I've used the Behavior Adjustment & Doggy Dan training systems with this sweet companion, who had been abused & neglected before I adopted her at 14 months. I have done drop-in visits for friends for 10 yrs. & can give medications orally, in ears & as injections. Before a first service, I do a meet & greet to get to know you & your furry friend & learn about how your canine relates to people, other dogs, cats, squirrels & rabbits. Activiies include playing fetch, tug of war, food puzzles & your pup's favorites. I'm available for drop-ins and dog walking between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Also I'm free between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. I am a fulltime pet care giver. At this time, I do not stay overnight with pets in my home or my clients' homes. Instead, I do 30-minute drop-in visits and 30-minute walks in clients' neighborhoods.
“Could not have asked for a better sitter for my dog for a week. Taylor was thorough, on time, very communicative, and loving. She did way more than she was asked. Very happy with the Rover Service, and Taylor was a godsend. Highly recommend.”

“Lela was absolutely wonderful with my 3 dogs. She came for a meet and greet prior to her check-ins so that we could make sure it was a good match. Everything went well and she was right on time for her drop-ins. My dogs were well taken care of this weekend 🙂”

Taylor has watched over my fur babies several times now and has been nothing but amazing. Taylor is my #1 pet sitter and always will be my first choice for a sitter for as long as I live in the Asheville area. Taylor always sends pictures and messages for updates and genuinely cares for my pets and their needs.

Bradley took great care of my cat and was in regular communication every day. She also helped out by bringing the garbage/recycling cans up so they weren’t left on the street while I was away. At previous times, she stayed with my dogs. It’s great to have reliable support with my beloved pets. I highly recommend Bradley for any job!

Michelle made my first Rover experience perfect! She walked me through the process, and my car Buttercup—who hides from EVERYONE—went right up to Michelle! I will have no worries about booking with Michelle again. It was such a relief! And I appreciate all of the notes, videos and pictures!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Weaverville. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
