About: I’m a biologist who has been a science teacher for thirty years. I’ve just retired, and I’m excited to have more time to work with animals. I’ve been an avid pet owner through the years-with fifteen cats, three dogs, fish, snakes, hamsters, birds, guinea pigs, turtles, and frogs. I can’t imagine a life without animals! We asked her to watch Toby the morning of the day we were to fly out of town. She was able to accommodate the last minute request. Made it seem like it was no trouble at all. About: I’ve cared for many cats in my life. I’m the go-to sitter for two strange orange boys, and spent some time living in a mixed household where my Henry had to coexist with two other males. I’ve watched every episode of My Cat From Hell multiple times and read several cat behavior books. While my efforts have not always been successful (because, cats 🙄), I do have a strong grasp of body language, behavioral needs, mood, and temperament. I’ve given pills to a super mean scratchy boy, and am generally unfazed if a cat doesn’t immediately want to be my best friend. I get them. I respect them. And they tend to appreciate this about me. If you have a kitten or a juvenile, I might be open to boarding if you need it, but we’d have to do a meet & greet first to make sure Henry would be okay.

About: Hi, I am a compassionate and dependable recent retiree. My two senior dogs passed away in the past 6 months and I am without any fur-babies for the first time in decades. I am honored to spend quality time with your loved one so you can have a worry-free vacation and I can have some doggy/kitty time! I am newly retired and have plenty of free time. I do have community activities out but they do not dominate my day. I spend my time focused on creativity (working on art and music projects) at home. So your pup will have company pretty much all day whether you are boarding with me or I am housesitting for you. I am very active and have a daily exercise and yoga routine and my home is a healthy and veg-friendly household. I'll gladly walk your dog to the level he/she is used to (if it's hot I will walk early morning and/or evenings). My intention is to have your baby feel loved and safe with lots of attention and play and by sticking to the routine as you dictate. I am very tidy/neat and respectful of your home. I'm happy to water your plants etc. If boarding in my home, I am here most of the time. My husb and I Iive in a house with a big fenced in yard so there is plenty of room for your pup to do his or her business and run around and chase a toy. The neighborhood is very walkable and dog-friendly. I can also take your dog in the car to favorite walks (with your permission). If boarding in my home, I request that your dog is 100% house-trained and has good social skills/manners as well as being comfortable with having their own bed to sleep in.

About: I have had a love for animals my whole life and been watching animals since I was 15. I know CPR and first aid for humans along with animals. While I am employed full time, I work in a hybrid setting that includes roughly 3 remote days per week, so I can be pet sitting on site and developing as close a band as I can to alleviate the babies' separation anxiety. I aim to please - if you'd prefer for your fur baby to be crated at night, then I will make sure s/he does that. My only job, other than to make the babies' experience as smooth as possible, is to follow the directions laid out by the owners.

My cat is my dog's best friend. If I end up taking care of pets overnight, I can arrange care for my own! I try to go to the dog park at least twice a day!

We have a young, friendly Lab who loves other dogs and four dog-savvy cats who are accustomed to sharing their home with a pup. Our home is also thoroughly puppy and toddler-proofed, and everyone in our household understands the importance of respecting a dog’s space, body language, boundaries, and individual personality. I’m big on maintaining consistency between your home and ours. If your dog is crate trained or currently learning we’re happy to continue their normal routine. The same goes for potty training, basic commands, feeding schedules, special diets, and any house rules you’re working on. Dogs can be fed separately to ensure everyone eats their own food, and we have an extra crate available or are happy to use your dog’s own crate if that makes them more comfortable. I love providing enrichment beyond simply letting dogs hang out! Depending on your pup, that might include sniff walks, Kongs, lick mats, snuffle mats, sprinkler or kiddie-pool play in the yard, fetch, or supervised creek adventures. With your permission, well-suited pups can also join us for dog-friendly walking trails or an occasional brewery outing. If your dog is happiest staying close to home, we’re just as happy to keep their world quiet and familiar.
