“We know our pup, Tinkerbell thoroughly enjoyed her stay with Elizabeth! Elizabeth was great with her, she is so very enthusiastic about dogs, very kind & caring & took excellent care of our pup! We felt completely safe & reassured that our dog would be in very good hands. Thank you Elizabeth, for your caring & kindness shown to our little girl while we were away. D & T”

“Pisco had a wonderful time with Alexis. Long walks, regular attention, and a nice place to relax. We appreciated her regular stream of photos. Highly recommend Alexis. We'll use her again.”

“Allison was amazing! She listened and went above and beyond to take care of my pup who requires extra attention with his eating habits! She gave me regular updates on how my pup was doing. I will definitely use her help when I need a sitter next time!”

“Courtney is great! I hired Courtney for daycare in her home. She was terrific to work with - responsive & able to troubleshoot a booking SNAFU on the App. My dog loved her & settled in immediately her dog and cat. Courtney sent a ton of photos & videos throughout the day. I will definitely hire her again!”

“All I can say is that I didn’t know Georgie could possibly be more spoiled than he already was but he is and that is a good thing! Made the entire trip away perfect knowing he was being so loved. Anyone who adores their dog and considers them their baby and not just a pet, do not hesitate to trust Toni to care for them.”

“Kinsey was a spectacular host and we felt very comfortable leaving Abby with her. Kinsey was a great communicator and shared pics with us daily. 5 stars, 4 cheers, 3 backflips and 2 thumbs up!”

“This was our first time boarding our two Benedoodles with Miranda and she was great. The dogs seemed comfortable with her right away and appeared to enjoy staying with her. Miranda clearly cared a lot about our dog's wellbeing and sent us updates and pictures while we were gone, which helped ease our concerns about leaving the dogs with someone new. We'll definitely use her again.”

“I can’t say enough good about Melody. We would leave Gaia in her care any time. If she lived close to us and we were going away for a month, we would leave Gaia in her care and feel 100% secure. She has a lovely environment for a dog ( or a human), made our dog feel instantly comfortable, and showed her a really good time.”

“Kyle was a great pet sitter! She is super friendly, very responsive in communication, and provides steady updates on how things are going. Her dog, Louie, is a total sweetie and Raz obviously liked hanging out with him. Raz was happy and healthy when I picked him up, which is the whole point! I would definitely recommend Kyle and look forward to contacting her again.”

“Paul & family were great! We needed a sitter for Gator on short notice, and he was so attentive and caring. He kept us updated throughout and made sure Gator was comfortable and having a good time. We really appreciated the communication and knowing Gator was in good hands. Would definitely recommend Paul!”

“Fernanda was incredible! My boyfriend and I have separation anxiety I think more than our pup Walter does and Fernanda put us at ease so that we could enjoy our vacation. She sent us pics and videos and updates throughout the weekend. Our dog can be a handful as he has tons of energy but he had a blast playing in her yard and with her dog who was super sweet! I will 100% be booking with Fernanda again for our next time we need a sitter.”

“Lacie is 5 stars as well as A++!!!! She takes remarkable care of our special needs Havanese , Emma. I can’t recommend her enough!! We love Lacie and would trust her with anything we own. Thank you Lacie.”

“Nancy did an excellent job caring for Jimmy, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the start, she was kind, professional, and very communicative. She kept me updated and made sure Jimmy was comfortable, happy, and well cared for during his entire stay. It was clear that she truly loves animals and treats them like her own. I had complete peace of mind knowing Jimmy was in such good hands. I would absolutely book with Nancy again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and caring sitter.”

“Katie and Adam took such great care of our girl, Raina! The sent pics, videos, and updates often enough to make us feel better about being away from her. We felt great about the care they gave Raina, and are glad that she will have sitters in the future who are going to take such great care of her! We will be rebooking :) thanks you guys!”
About: I have had dogs my whole life. I have experience caring for puppies, elderly dogs and sick/disabled dogs. I can administer medication, if needed. My dogs are our family members and yours will be treated the same. I am currently working from home so your pet won’t be left home alone for very long periods. I am available during the week and weekends including holidays. I have two very sweet and mellow Cavalier King Charles Spaniels to keep your doggie company. They will have access to 2 separate fenced in areas, one with a doggie door. Your dog can be crated or not and are welcome on the furniture with our dogs. Ours sleep in an x-pen together but your dog can sleep where ever it prefers. I want them to be comfortable like it is their own home.

“Teresa is fantastic! She kept me updated with photos of Karma & Kylo, and always was sure to respond when I checked in. She took such good care of my two kitties and I will definitely be contacting her for future boarding needs! Thank you Teresa! 🖤”

Brody was just fantastic with our little pup, Zoey, a 10 month old Golden Retriever. His property is great, huge fenced in grass yard for the pups to play. Brody is readily responsive and available and easy to work with. He's clearly a dog-lover. Zoey was incredibly happy, clean and well-fed when we picked her up. Couldn't recommend Brody strongly enough; we'll definitely be back.

Gus was a fantastic dog sitter, and we couldn’t be happier with the care he provided. He took wonderful care of our two Australian shepherds and our cat while we were away, and it was clear from the start that he’s reliable, attentive, and truly loves animals. Our dogs were happy, well-exercised, and relaxed when we returned, and our cat was clearly comfortable and well cared for too. Gus kept us updated, which gave us great peace of mind, and our home was left in great shape. We would absolutely trust him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dependable, caring pet sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
