Kyle was a great pet sitter! She is super friendly, very responsive in communication, and provides steady updates on how things are going. Her dog, Louie, is a total sweetie and Raz obviously liked hanging out with him. Raz was happy and healthy when I picked him up, which is the whole point! I would definitely recommend Kyle and look forward to contacting her again.

This was our first time boarding our two Benedoodles with Miranda and she was great. The dogs seemed comfortable with her right away and appeared to enjoy staying with her. Miranda clearly cared a lot about our dog's wellbeing and sent us updates and pictures while we were gone, which helped ease our concerns about leaving the dogs with someone new. We'll definitely use her again.

Fernanda was incredible! My boyfriend and I have separation anxiety I think more than our pup Walter does and Fernanda put us at ease so that we could enjoy our vacation. She sent us pics and videos and updates throughout the weekend. Our dog can be a handful as he has tons of energy but he had a blast playing in her yard and with her dog who was super sweet! I will 100% be booking with Fernanda again for our next time we need a sitter.

I can’t say enough good about Melody. We would leave Gaia in her care any time. If she lived close to us and we were going away for a month, we would leave Gaia in her care and feel 100% secure. She has a lovely environment for a dog ( or a human), made our dog feel instantly comfortable, and showed her a really good time.

Nancy did an excellent job caring for Jimmy, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the start, she was kind, professional, and very communicative. She kept me updated and made sure Jimmy was comfortable, happy, and well cared for during his entire stay. It was clear that she truly loves animals and treats them like her own. I had complete peace of mind knowing Jimmy was in such good hands. I would absolutely book with Nancy again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and caring sitter.

About: Animals simply fill me with happiness. Ever since childhood, I have felt connected to the language of animals and have gotten such a deep and inexplicable joy from hanging out with them. I have worked professionally as an independent pet sitter in various parts of the country for the past seven years and have had some of the most rewarding experiences with the animals I've befriended. I offer overnight stays in my home where I live alone on three acres of pristine property in Weaverville, NC. At my house, your pets well being and happiness is considered my top priority while you are away. A little aside: I am also an herbalist and researcher/writer and a lot of my work is done quietly and remotely, so choosing you leave your pet with me ensures that I will be present for your animal(s) and give them ample attention while you are out of town. I offer genuine presence, nourishment, and heartfelt attention to your beloved creatures while giving them a lovely space with lots of land and beauty, and peace all around. I grew up with many animals that have touched my life tremendously, and I have developed an intuitive understanding of their communication style and overall needs. I offer free meet and greets, am adaptable to requests, and have worked with dogs and cats of many shapes, sizes, and situations. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you would like to ask me any anything or set up a time to connect! I work from home as a Clinical Herbalist, researcher and writer, so I'm available to give my full attention to animals in my care, with excitement and gratitude. With utmost love and integrity. I am an animal lover to the core, and I aim to give animals a deeply rewarding and safe experience.

About: Hello! My Name is Justin Gardner. I have resided on a large tract of pristine farm land located 20 miles north of Asheville, sitting perfectly between Weaverville and Marshall. For anyone looking to give their dog a true country getaway, this is a paradise. If your pup doesn't always get the chance to fully experience nature, our wide-open spaces to explore and a fully fenced-off yard offer the ultimate safe freedom. Dogs have been a central part of my life since early childhood, and that lifelong passion continues today with our own beloved resident dogs. We understand dog behavior, respect their individual routines, and treat every guest like a member of the family. Whether your dog loves to run wide-open spaces or just wants to sniff the mountain air and lounge on the porch, they will find their perfect rhythm here. Working primarily from home allows me to provide attentive, full-time care and regular outdoor exercise. I can host overnight (Short or Long term) boarding seamlessly as long as owners provide their dog's personal items and necessary accommodations, allowing your pup to enjoy a safe, country retreat with all the comforts of home. Safety and socialization go hand-in-hand here. My dog Rocco, a friendly Catahoula Leopard Hound, has six years of excellent experience interacting with other dogs and is always eager to welcome new playmates. Playtime in our fully fenced yard is entirely supervised, and I can easily crate your dog for meals or bedtime to ensure a structured, safe stay.

About: I have had dogs my whole life. I have experience caring for puppies, elderly dogs and sick/disabled dogs. I can administer medication, if needed. My dogs are our family members and yours will be treated the same. I am currently working from home so your pet won’t be left home alone for very long periods. I am available during the week and weekends including holidays. I have two very sweet and mellow Cavalier King Charles Spaniels to keep your doggie company. They will have access to 2 separate fenced in areas, one with a doggie door. Your dog can be crated or not and are welcome on the furniture with our dogs. Ours sleep in an x-pen together but your dog can sleep where ever it prefers. I want them to be comfortable like it is their own home.

About: ✨Experienced, loving care & peace of mind✨ I’ve been around and cared for dogs for most of my life, including raising three puppies of my own from the puppy stage up. I have hands-on experience with crate training, potty training, basic commands, leash skills, routines, enrichment, and navigating all of the wonderfully chaotic stages of puppyhood! I currently have a 10-month-old chocolate Lab, so I’m very familiar with energetic young dogs and the patience, consistency, exercise, and attention they need. I’ve also regularly cared for dogs for friends and family and have spent a lot of time learning about canine behavior, body language, training, and positive reinforcement. I genuinely love getting to know each dog’s individual personality and making them feel comfortable, safe, and at home while their people are away. Whether your pup wants to play, explore, snuggle on the couch, or follow me around the house all day, they’ll be treated like part of the family here. 🐶💛 I work part-time, and between my schedule and my husband’s, someone is almost always home! Our schedules complement each other really well, which means your pup gets plenty of company, attention, potty breaks, playtime, walks, and enrichment throughout the day rather than spending long stretches alone. We already structure our days around our own young Lab, so having dogs as part of our daily rhythm comes very naturally to us. On our days off, we love spending time outside, taking walks, exploring local trails, or just having a cozy day at home. No matter what, your pup gets to be part of the family while they’re here. 🐾 Our home is a relaxed, dog-loving environment where we want your pup to feel like part of the family. We live on a quiet cul-de-sac in a safe, very walkable neighborhood with a large yard. While our yard is not currently fenced, dogs are always supervised and leashed outdoors, and I’m very comfortable with leash walking and safely managing dogs outside. We have a young, friendly Lab who loves other dogs and four dog-savvy cats who are accustomed to sharing their home with a pup. Our home is also thoroughly puppy and toddler-proofed, and everyone in our household understands the importance of respecting a dog’s space, body language, boundaries, and individual personality. I’m big on maintaining consistency between your home and ours. If your dog is crate trained or currently learning we’re happy to continue their normal routine. The same goes for potty training, basic commands, feeding schedules, special diets, and any house rules you’re working on. Dogs can be fed separately to ensure everyone eats their own food, and we have an extra crate available or are happy to use your dog’s own crate if that makes them more comfortable. I love providing enrichment beyond simply letting dogs hang out! Depending on your pup, that might include sniff walks, Kongs, lick mats, snuffle mats, sprinkler or kiddie-pool play in the yard, fetch, or supervised creek adventures. With your permission, well-suited pups can also join us for dog-friendly walking trails or an occasional brewery outing. If your dog is happiest staying close to home, we’re just as happy to keep their world quiet and familiar.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
