“Gabriel was super accommodating and flexible when our travel plans changed and took great care of our dog. He even administered medications gave him lots of TLC in our absence.”
“I highly recommend Jackie! She has a very calm demeanor and my pup was instantly relaxed with her. She took notes on my dogs preferences and health needs and kept me updated while I was gone. If you want to feel reassured your pet is in good hands then definitely request her.”

About: I have had dogs my whole life. I have experience caring for puppies, elderly dogs and sick/disabled dogs. I can administer medication, if needed. My dogs are our family members and yours will be treated the same. I am currently working from home so your pet won’t be left home alone for very long periods. I am available during the week and weekends including holidays. I have two very sweet and mellow Cavalier King Charles Spaniels to keep your doggie company. They will have access to 2 separate fenced in areas, one with a doggie door. Your dog can be crated or not and are welcome on the furniture with our dogs. Ours sleep in an x-pen together but your dog can sleep where ever it prefers. I want them to be comfortable like it is their own home.
“Molly was very comfortable there. She played in the yard with the other dogs. When I walked into their home, it felt serene. I really appreciated Jeannie & Craig taking care of her and would use them again.”

“Katie &Jeremy are amazing multiple updates daily with great pictures. My dog couldn’t be happier when he comes home from being with them. I have booked with them multiple times. They are amazing sitters.”

About: I have grown up with dogs my entire life! I also worked in a dog kennel in college. Love being around animals as much as I can! I work a full time job so I primarily would have more time on weekends but I can make mid day trips home for potty breaks! I let animals roam around my home so they can feel comfortable. I have a large dog bed and food bowls already here along with a few toys and treats!
“I cannot express how much we appreciate Julie! She is extremely responsible, always reliable, and loves my dog like one of her own. This is the first time we did an in-home stay for our large, goofy lab. The peace of mind we have knowing he is so well taken care of is invaluable. I highly recommend Julie.”

“Cassandra did a fantastic job taking care of our Great Dane. She was reliable and kept us updated throughout the stay. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable sitter.”

“We had a wonderful experience with KaLynn on Rover! She cared for our 10-year-old beagle for a full week while we were in Germany, and we couldn’t have asked for a better situation—especially now that he’s in his senior years. In the past, traditional boarding environments were very stressful for him. Being around too many dogs and confined to a suite would cause him to bark excessively, sometimes even losing his voice. We knew we needed something more personal and calm, and KaLynn provided exactly that. Her home environment was perfect—peaceful, welcoming, and much more like what he’s used to. She also has a beautiful, large backyard where he could safely enjoy time outside with a smaller group of dogs, which made a huge difference in his comfort level. Knowing he was in such a caring, low-stress setting gave us real peace of mind while we were away. We’re so grateful for the attention and compassion she showed him. We would highly recommend her and absolutely trust her again with our senior pup! Thank you KaLynn for caring of our boy, Copper!💙”

“I am so glad that I found Vicky through Rover! She did a wonderful job caring for my sweet Fiona. Vicky was communicative, caring, and made our dog feel at home in her care. I highly recommend her services!”

About: I have been a veterinary nurse at an AAHA accredited hospital for the last 6 years, and prior to that, worked at an additional hospital as well as a pet store with exotics. I am more than comfortable administering any method of medication, and taking care of your medical needs, special needs, or senior fur babies. I own two friendly dogs, two sassy cats, and a baby ball python myself- variety is the spice of life. If you’re looking for a medically experienced caretaker for your kids, I’m your gal! *also have grooming experience with medical needs animals I just moved to the Asheville area, so Im excited to explore around. I have just taken a M-Th veterinary position, but I still plan on working Rover into my schedule! I have two friendly dogs, who will play with dogs that want to play, ignore the ones who don’t, and will be gentle with the young and little ones. I do not have a yard, but I am very active and used to taking my large dogs for >3-4 mile walks daily.
“Cindy was so welcoming and thoughtful with my pup. Booking with Cindy was my first experience using a Rover and I was a bit nervous leaving my dog with someone new. Cindy offered to hold a meet and greet — she was patient, supportive, and really took time to get to know my dog, asked insightful questions, and gave her space to warm up to her new surroundings. I’ve already shared Cindy’s info with others for possible booking and plan to book with her again in the future.”

“Linda is friendly and knowledgeable. She has a beautiful home and a nice sized fenced in back yard. Missy enjoyed her stay and we will definitely have her stay with Linda again next time we need a care giver for her.”

“My little morkie had another wonderful stay with Maria and Jose! It is so comforting to go on a trip and not worry about my pup. They are excellent at communicating daily and treat her as one of the family. I highly recommend!!”

“Bridget was exceptional! Callie was in great hands with her. She sent regular updates and pictures. She was also accommodating and so helpful when I had a hiccup with my travel and needed to extend Callie’s stay by an extra day. We’ll definitely book with her again.”

About: I have 2+ years of experience caring for dogs and cats, providing a safe, comfortable, and loving environment while their families are away. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, so I take the time to make sure they feel at home and receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I’m dependable, attentive, and safety-focused, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply relaxing in a comfortable environment, I’ll make sure they receive personalized care throughout their stay. Monday through Friday, I leave for work around 7:30 AM and return home at noon for lunch. I head back to work around 1 PM and am usually home between 4–5 PM. This allows me to check in, provide attention, feeding, and potty breaks throughout the day. On weekends, I’m usually home all day studying, so your pet will have plenty of company, attention, and care. I live in a comfortable apartment complex with plenty of safe outdoor areas for walks, exercise, and potty breaks. I don’t have any pets of my own, so your pet will have a peaceful environment and plenty of individual attention. I follow each pet’s normal feeding, walking, and care routine while providing a clean, calm, and comfortable space where they can feel safe and at home.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Shiloh
Jackson and Nichole were wonderful when caring for our boys! They were open, kind, flexible, and understanding. We were in a pinch, and they worked with us. When Luka was acting out of character, they worked with him and us, knowing he is a puppy. Their sweet dog, Indie, was a great playmate for the boys, and I am sure they miss her. We highly recommend them!

Heidy and her partner took great care of Mable when I was away for a couple days. I had a friend that was supposed to watch my dog for the weekend and that fell through the morning I was leaving. Luckily Heidy responded quickly to my message and was able to take Mable for me. She was very communicative and I'll definitely use her again!

Cassandra was amazing with our pup! She was very observant during our meet & greet and felt confident that her sweet pups would be a good fit for our girl. When we picked Dixie up during her 4 day stay, she was a happy and tired pup! Would recommend Cassandra to anyone!

Golda was great! Very communicative and sent several pictures of our pup while we were away. She has a great fenced in yard that our dog loved, he was very happy when we picked him up and seemed to be well taken care of. 10/10 would recommend and will be using her again!

Kyle was a great pet sitter! She is super friendly, very responsive in communication, and provides steady updates on how things are going. Her dog, Louie, is a total sweetie and Raz obviously liked hanging out with him. Raz was happy and healthy when I picked him up, which is the whole point! I would definitely recommend Kyle and look forward to contacting her again.

Elise is a doll. My dog Kapone was so happy & comfortable with her & her dog Punto. My dog was at her home for 4 days & nights. She sent video & pictures of him being super happy at her home. She cared for him like he was her own dog. That makes a big difference. She asked questions concerning ,helt, meals & exercise when I dropped Kapone off. She did a meet & greet with the dogs to make sure everyone got along. I believe helps out a lot for the dogs. Shes sweet & caring. If I was not moving to another state I'd have her watch Kapone any time I had to leave town. I highly recommend her as your dog sitter. ☺️🤗

Jackie was awesome! Very easy to work with and took excellent care of our puppy. During Daisy’s stay, Jackie communicated daily with photos and videos. Daisy had a blast with Jackie and her friends. She was able to go on several adventures, which were important experiences for Daisy. I’d highly recommend Jackie to anyone.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
