“Jen was wonderful. Went out of her way to make sure the dog would be safe and happy. Bought her a toy, walked her a bunch and sent her home happy and worn out from playing. She was a lovely person, easy to correspond with, and took great care of Flora. Thank you, Jen!”

“Allison was great with Kevin and made us feel at ease on our vacation. She sent daily updates with pictures and details about their day, and made him feel right at home. I’d highly recommend her and will use her in the future!”

“Gus had a wonderful weekend with Jeremy and Katie! They have a very peaceful space and are so welcoming. I got to see pictures of Gus several times a day, and he was happy (but tired) when I picked him up. I will definitely book a staycation for Gus with them again!”

About: I have been a veterinary nurse at an AAHA accredited hospital for the last 6 years, and prior to that, worked at an additional hospital as well as a pet store with exotics. I am more than comfortable administering any method of medication, and taking care of your medical needs, special needs, or senior fur babies. I own two friendly dogs, two sassy cats, and a baby ball python myself- variety is the spice of life. If you’re looking for a medically experienced caretaker for your kids, I’m your gal! *also have grooming experience with medical needs animals I just moved to the Asheville area, so Im excited to explore around. I have just taken a M-Th veterinary position, but I still plan on working Rover into my schedule! I have two friendly dogs, who will play with dogs that want to play, ignore the ones who don’t, and will be gentle with the young and little ones. I do not have a yard, but I am very active and used to taking my large dogs for >3-4 mile walks daily.
“Vicky took such good care of Jaz over the 4th of July weekend and kept me updated on how she was doing adjusting and dealing with the fireworks! I also appreciated all the pictures. So sweet, highly recommend.”

“Gabriel was super accommodating and flexible when our travel plans changed and took great care of our dog. He even administered medications gave him lots of TLC in our absence.”
“We are so impressed with our first time using Rover. Ann and Jaren were great, communicative with texts and pics. We highly recommend them and will use them again!”

About: Between us, we have always had an animal in our lives - from ferrets and horses to cats and dogs. Pets simply make life better and there’s no better way to thank them than to shower them with love and affection. Your fur baby is guaranteed to be excited when they need to stay with us. Nichole was a professional dog walker in Boston before moving to Asheville, so she has experience with all sizes and temperaments. Jackson is certified in American Service Pet training as well, so you can rest assured they are in good, capable hands during their stay. We both work outside of the home - Jackson as a maintenance worker and Nichole as a doctor - so our fur babies are usually lounging inside or in our fenced in yard. That said, we always make sure one of us will be home when we have any pets staying with us. On the weekends, we love spending time out in nature, especially around bodies of water and would love to safely bring your pet along. When you trust us to watch your animals, we’ll follow whatever rules you’d like. They can run around in our fenced in yard or stay inside. We have a large crate as well if your animal prefers that. We have a Bernedoodle that loves playing with new friends, as long as they are not aggressive. We have two indoor cats that love playing with our dog, but would also not do well with an aggressive dog. We love to train dogs as well and are happy reinforce the work you are doing while they stay with us.
“Boomer had the best time while staying with KaLynn. She sent lots of pictures showing all of Boomer's buddies during his stay, and KaLynn even had a birthday party for one of dogs. This is Boomer's second time of being with KaLynn, and I plan on sticking with her in the future!”

“Golda and her husband were great hosts for our dog Ringo. Ringo usually gets a little nervious staying away from us but it was clear when we picked him up that he was very comfortable with their family, children and a few other dogs in the big fenced yard to play in. We will definitely use Golda again!”

“Cindy was so welcoming and thoughtful with my pup. Booking with Cindy was my first experience using a Rover and I was a bit nervous leaving my dog with someone new. Cindy offered to hold a meet and greet — she was patient, supportive, and really took time to get to know my dog, asked insightful questions, and gave her space to warm up to her new surroundings. I’ve already shared Cindy’s info with others for possible booking and plan to book with her again in the future.”

“I highly recommend Jackie! She has a very calm demeanor and my pup was instantly relaxed with her. She took notes on my dogs preferences and health needs and kept me updated while I was gone. If you want to feel reassured your pet is in good hands then definitely request her.”

“Rowdy had a great time (again) with Miranda. He recognized her place as we drove up and was so excited when he realized where we were! He was obviously comfortable there in the picture she sent of him cozy and snorning.”

“Linda is friendly and knowledgeable. She has a beautiful home and a nice sized fenced in back yard. Missy enjoyed her stay and we will definitely have her stay with Linda again next time we need a care giver for her.”

“Bridget was exceptional! Callie was in great hands with her. She sent regular updates and pictures. She was also accommodating and so helpful when I had a hiccup with my travel and needed to extend Callie’s stay by an extra day. We’ll definitely book with her again.”

Cassandra was amazing with our pup! She was very observant during our meet & greet and felt confident that her sweet pups would be a good fit for our girl. When we picked Dixie up during her 4 day stay, she was a happy and tired pup! Would recommend Cassandra to anyone!

Golda was great! Very communicative and sent several pictures of our pup while we were away. She has a great fenced in yard that our dog loved, he was very happy when we picked him up and seemed to be well taken care of. 10/10 would recommend and will be using her again!

Kyle was a great pet sitter! She is super friendly, very responsive in communication, and provides steady updates on how things are going. Her dog, Louie, is a total sweetie and Raz obviously liked hanging out with him. Raz was happy and healthy when I picked him up, which is the whole point! I would definitely recommend Kyle and look forward to contacting her again.

We found a loose dog right before leaving town for a holiday the weekend, when shelters were closed and we couldn't take her there. Courtney saved the day and took great care of this sweet pup. Courtney even jumped in with looking for her people with us, gave her a bath, and groomed her a bit to help her be more comfortable. Super grateful for Courtney's help!

Elise is a doll. My dog Kapone was so happy & comfortable with her & her dog Punto. My dog was at her home for 4 days & nights. She sent video & pictures of him being super happy at her home. She cared for him like he was her own dog. That makes a big difference. She asked questions concerning ,helt, meals & exercise when I dropped Kapone off. She did a meet & greet with the dogs to make sure everyone got along. I believe helps out a lot for the dogs. Shes sweet & caring. If I was not moving to another state I'd have her watch Kapone any time I had to leave town. I highly recommend her as your dog sitter. ☺️🤗

Jackie was awesome! Very easy to work with and took excellent care of our puppy. During Daisy’s stay, Jackie communicated daily with photos and videos. Daisy had a blast with Jackie and her friends. She was able to go on several adventures, which were important experiences for Daisy. I’d highly recommend Jackie to anyone.

Cindy was the ABSOLUTE BEST. I have never felt this secure leaving my dogs under someone else’s care. She was so sweet and attentive, and made my nervous pups so comfortable. They seemed to have a great time there. She gave me the nicest photo updates too. I think I just found my go-to sitter in Asheville. 1000/10 recommend ♥️🥰🐾

We had a last minute trip and were nervous about finding care for our very senior dog. During our meet and greet with Katie and Preston, our nerves washed away. Through our time away they sent us pictures and sweet updates about Simba, which were so reassuring. We felt he was well cared for, and we’d definitely recommend them. Thank you so much Katie and Preston!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
