“Jeni was great! Super thorough on the front end of making sure everything was set before she arrived. She was detailed in asking me questions to prepare her to stay with my dogs that I hadn't even thought of. Jeni was very professional and dealt with issues as they arose. 10/10 recommend.”

“Neil watched over our 2 pups on super last minute notice. So appreciative of that and he provided excellent care. He sent us updated pictures and videos and even took our pups on a nearby hike.. Neil is so kind and warm hearted. Got to meet him in advance and he welcomed us back home before he ended his sit. Our home was in great shape upon our arrival. Will be keeping in touch with Neil for future sits.”

“Brandon did an incredible job for us. He walked our dog multiple times a day, and even took him for neighborhood play dates. He was extremely professional and caring, and our dog was so happy to be with him. Our travel home was complicated by weather, and Brandon made sure he stayed with our dog until he knew we would be headed home. Our flights were delayed, and this meant Brandon stayed over at our home until 10 pm. I can’t recommend Brandon enough. He’s an excellent choice as a Dogsitter, and we have been so grateful for his help.”

“Jamie is an excellent pet and house sitter. She is caring and down to earth, friendly, happy and “gets it.” Left my house sparkling and my animals smiling. I would hire her again in a heartbeat!”

“David was amazing with our 4 fur babies! He was able to watch everyone on very short notice after our sitter backed out. David kept us informed about everyone and sent some pictures. We would highly recommend David! There are not enough kind words to say.”

“Hannah was very communicative and seemed to have a deep care for all of my animals. I received regular updates, as well as updates when anything unusual occurred (which only happened once, thankfully!). I felt secure knowing my animals were being looked after by Hannah.”
About: Hello! I’m a nurse pursuing a graduate degree and pet and house sitting on the side. I’ve had cats & dogs my whole life, and have cared for little reptile pets as well! I have experience walking, running and playing with dogs of all sizes and petsitting durations from an overnight to one month at a time with both dogs and cats. No dogs (or cats!) are too big or too small. I enjoy helping pets get outside and active, or doting on them at home. I’m comfortable with puppies and elderly dogs and cats, and can run with your more energetic pups to get their yayas out! My schedule is very flexible and I take pet care seriously - I want you to be worry-free while you’re on vacation or busy at work. I have three fully remote weekdays per week and one half remote day, so plenty of quality time to spend with your pup. I’m available for scheduled weekly walks, one-off check-in’s and walks, as well as for overnight stays and longer pet sitting periods. I’m currently a full-time student with lots of lunch break time and three fully remote days a week to tend to pups & cats! I’m happy to help with short or long at home care while you’re traveling, or to set up a weekly walking (or running) schedule with your dogs. Reach out and we can discuss what works best! I offer pet sitting in your pets’ home spaces, and am happy to adapt to specific needs while at your home. I’m an early-to-bed and early-to-rise person, so I’ll be able to spend plenty of time with your pets and help them get active before I head anywhere for a few hours! I can provide feeding and medication administration, and have experience with pills, creams, dressing changes and insulin injections for pets.

About: I have been taking care of other people's animals since middle school and just love getting to know your pets! Experience with dogs, cats, horses, chickens, goats, and fish! Willing to take on pets with medical needs! I work 40 hours over 5 days days a week. I am typically away from the house from 9 am - 5 pm or 11 am - 7 pm. Depending on your location, I may be able to pop back to the house on my short lunch break. I am comfortable walking your animals on leashes, pushing them in strollers, using a treadmill, playing with them in the yard, or whatever else is your routine and preference!
“Laina was an excellent caretaker for Cooper. Cooper has lots of anxiety and needs lots of patience which Laina was able to provide. She had great communication the whole time and made me feel comfortable Cooper was cared for. As difficult as Cooper can be to handle she was able to do it. I would happily recommend Laina to anyone who wants their dog cared for properly for their specific needs. She even got Cooper to feel comfortable enough to lick her hand which is not like him with new people. Great communication, great care, ten out of ten experience, by far the best I could’ve hired. Thank you so much Laina!”

“James is a joy. He took great care of the dogs and our home. We came home to a clean and tidy home. He took care of everything we had asked him to do and would highly recommend him again”

“Natasha was a dream petsitter. Easy communication, positive vibes, and clearly competent with the dog/cats. She’s quick to respond, very communicative, sends tons of pictures, and responsible. I would recommend her to anybody looking to make your vacation as stress free as possible. Thank you Natasha!”

“Nate was great with my dogs! He stayed in touch without overwhelming me with texts and photos which is what I prefer. He was really attentive with my 3 dogs and I came home to tired pups which is always a huge bonus after a business trip. I hope he will be available next time I need a sitter because he’s so nice and left the house very clean.”

“Megan did a phenomenal job taking care of Kyla while we were out of the country. My other sitter cancelled last minute due to an injury to her leg 2 days before leaving. Megan stepped up last minute and gave Kyla the extra attention and love that she needed. We felt completely comfortable while away thanks to the updates about her condition, plethora of pictures, and prompt replies! She even went to the vet to pick up additional meds and provided an update about the vets suggestions. We could not have been more comfortable, appreciative, and overall overjoyed with how well she took care of Kyla. We will absolutely be requesting her services again any time we cannot bring Kyla along!! Thanks for an incredible job!! Also, she took exceptional care of the house while we were away, going above and beyond as if it were her own. We cannot thank you enough!”

“Giuliana was very professional and upfront about questions and requirements. My dogs and home were very well cared for. Giuliana provided regular updates and pictures to keep us connected during the week.”

“Alex is the best house/dog sitter ever. He loves animals and took exceptional care of our two loony German Shepherd puppies. He also is a perfect gentleman and we returned to a tidy house. Such a pleasant surprise. We will definitely use him again”

“Sarah took great care of our sweet pup! We felt extremely comfortable knowing Bailey was in good hands. We came home to a happy doggie and our house looked better than when we left. I highly recommend Sarah for your pet sitting needs. We will definitely ask her again.”

“Kiera was excellent with my Teddy! She sent pics and updates while I was away which helped ease my nerves about leaving him home. I can’t thank her enough, and I will DEFINITELY book with her again.”

“Laura was wonderful with our dog and 2 cats! Luca is very large and still a puppy, so, it’s not always easy with that combination! Laura was patient and kind! Would definitely like to use her again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Shiloh
Nellie was amazing! She watched our two dogs for two weeks, and we felt completely comfortable knowing they were in such good hands. We had told her ahead of time that we love getting lots of updates while we’re away, and she was wonderful about keeping us in the loop and sending pictures throughout the trip. Our dogs unfortunately had some digestive issues while we were gone, and Nellie handled everything incredibly well. She always let us know what was going on, asked questions when needed, and took such great care of them. She also handled an unexpected stressful situation with one of the dogs really calmly and responsibly, which we especially appreciated being so far away. She took them on walks every day, gave them lots of attention, and clearly cared about making sure they were happy and well taken care of. And somehow, after two weeks with our dogs, we came home to a house that was cleaner than when we left it! We really couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Nellie is responsible, thoughtful, caring, and great at communicating, and we would absolutely have her watch our dogs again. We’d recommend her without hesitation!

Gabriel was an outstanding dog sitter! He took exceptional care of our dog and our home. When our dog got sick and threw up, he cleaned everything up without hesitation and kept the house spotless. He sent regular updates with photos and messages, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. He also noticed that our dog’s ear was starting to look infected and, after checking with us first, started her prescribed ear drops right away. We really appreciated his attentiveness and communication. Gabriel truly went above and beyond. We would absolutely book him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and responsible pet sitter!

Sula is absolutely fantastic with animals! From the very minute, she came in the house. My dog acted like she knew her for a long time. She’s that calm and gentle. She’s very easy to work with and extremely careful and clean in the house. She took care of all of the sheets for me, and my dog absolutely loved her. I could not recommend her highly enough.

David was beyond excellent. Easy to communicate with. My dog ended up having major GI issues while I was away. David was quick to respond over text, he went out of his way to clean up my dog’s uncontrolled diarrhea, and much to my relief, David without complaint took my dog to the vet when I asked him to. I’m so grateful to him for all of that. I would give him 10 stars if I could.

This was a last minute booking and we are thankful we were able to make reservations. Axios was great with our pups. He communicated often and ensured we were updated on anything new going on with them. He left the house spotless after a week of being there. We will be booking with him again! Thanks!
Josephine (JC) was fantastic. She did really well with our dogs when we had a brief meet and greet. She showed up on time on the day that her booking started. She sent us regular updates via text message and photos. The dogs really clearly liked her. I'm very eager to plan another trip and book her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Shiloh on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 679 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Shiloh. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Shiloh walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Shiloh maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Shiloh choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Shiloh. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
