“Hannah is an excellent house and dog sitter. Communication is easy and she is very responsive, my dog seemed happy and well cared for, and she left my home exactly as it was when we left town. Highly recommend!”

“Becca did a fantastic job watching our senior dog, Jamie, while we took a 9-day family trip. She gave us daily updates, expertly maintained Jamie’s normal routines, and gave her plenty of attention. When we returned, Jamie wasn’t showing any of the signs of stress she normally displays when we have been away.”

“Skye was wonderful with my two dogs. She stayed at my house for a few nights and I came back to the house looking pristine, and the dogs happy as ever! I would most definitely recommend her to every pet owner.”
“We felt totally at ease leaving our pups with Sara. Her energy is calm and gentle and I could tell that our pups were just as comfortable as we were. She was very communicative and sent lots of pictures and we came home to a clean house and happy, tired out pups. What more could you ask for? We would definitely call Sara again!”

“Megan stepped in on short notice and took wonderful care of our two dogs and two kittens. She was thoughtful and attentive, making sure all of their needs were met. She even brushed the dogs’ teeth, cleaned the cats’ water fountain, and sent plenty of great photos while we were away. When we came home, the house was tidy and all of the animals were happy and relaxed. She also kept me well informed with detailed updates about meals and their daily activities. She was a pleasure to work with, and I would gladly book her again.”

“Natasha was amazing with our senior pup! She was very communicative and took plenty of pictures and updates during our trip. I would highly recommend her as your next pet sitter!”

“James is a joy. He took great care of the dogs and our home. We came home to a clean and tidy home. He took care of everything we had asked him to do and would highly recommend him again”

“Levon is amazing! My boy Melvin is very skittish and inclined to be fearful of new men, but Levon put him at ease right away, and Melvin was licking his face and trying to climb on him within minutes of our first meeting! I’m blown away by how Levon immediately knew exactly how to handle and communicate with Melvin—my guy is definitely a tough case with major anxiety and leash reactivity (which means 62 lbs jerking at your arm when our passing-trigger protocol fails to keep him calm), and Levon is literally the one and only person I feel comfortable handing the leash to as of right now. I was finally able to take a three-day trip without Melvin over Thanksgiving because of Levon—I hadn’t been able to do that since adopting him because he’s such a handful and has some special needs—and I was actually able to enjoy myself without worrying about Melvin! For him it was just a great visit with his buddy who took him for awesome outings to walk and hike, and quality time at the house where he received lots of love and attention. Melvin and I are so grateful to have Levon as our go-to now for when I want to schedule trips, and also as someone who can bring him out on adventures for extra exercise and stimulation!”

“Casey was a great sitter! She was very communicative, and most importantly, our dogs seemed super relaxed when we came home. It was clear she had spent a lot of time with them and made them feel cared for and loved. We will definitely use her again!”

“Alice & LB were fantastic! Our dog & cat were the happiest & least stressed out we’ve ever seen them when we’ve come home from a trip. We also got regular texts with photos of our babies while we were away. And our house was in great shape when we got home too! Without a doubt we will be booking with them again!”

“Cassandra went above and beyond and accepted the request super last minute when I was unexpectedly hospitalized. My dog, Shadow, has liver cancer and takes multiple oral meds. Cassandra did great, and my house looked amazing! I cannot thank you enough!”

“David did a great job with my pups, especially considering one was sick and needing medications. I really appreciate that he checked in and sent updates at least once a day. I plan to schedule him again.”

“Johnny took fantastic care of my senior dog, Cheeto while I was away & sent me lots of photos and videos to calm my anxiety due to being away. He’s incredibly trustworthy and dependable and will absolutely have you back! Thank you so much!”
“Luna can be a bit funny with new people, being pretty anxious and not wanting to be petted. Hannah was patient with Luna, adjusting as needed to try to keep Luna as comfortable and less stressed as possible. Eventually, Luna calmed down and was sleeping in the bed with Hannah and allowing pets, which means she was finally comfortable with Hannah. The daily updates with pictures gave me peace of mind while I was away from my pup, too! I will for sure use Hannah again for future dogsitting needs!”

“Kathleen was a great help taking care of our two dogs while we were out of town overnight! She was very communicative with updates and photos and was comfortable with giving oral meds. We would highly recommend her and hope to book her again soon. Thanks again Kathleen!”

“Samantha was fantastic! She house sat for our pup for 3 days. The whole time she sent great updates, easy to communicate with, and left our house as if she’d never been there. She is very friendly to talk to and clearly cared about our dog’s best interest. We would definitely reach out for her services next time!”

“Highly recommend! Albert (David) was awesome with our three dogs! They’re not the easiest—one is giant, one is high anxiety, and one is blind. And they all have special medication procedures. Plus we have a quirky century-old house that’s not the easiest either…but David was not phased by any of this! The dogs instantly loved him at the meet and greet, and we came home to them completely calm and happy (which means they got lots of love and attention and walks)! We hope he’s always available when we need a sitter.”

“Bretta was the best sitter for our fur kiddos and took such wonderful care of them and our home. This was my husband and I’s first time using a sitting service and we weren’t sure exactly what to expect, but Bretta surpassed any expectations we could’ve had. She was so sweet and loving with our dog and cat, sent us daily updates and pics. She truly gave us peace of mind and let us enjoy our trip without the worry of if our fur babies and house were ok. We will definitely be using her services again!”

“She is awesome!! Our dogs love her on the first meet and greet. She stayed in our home and it was better then when we left it. We will definitely have her pet sit our 4 legged girls!”

“Juna was great! She was kind and communicative and sent me photos/updates that kept me at ease while I was away. She took great care of my dog, cats, and house and I would definitely recommend her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Weaverville
We had such a wonderful experience with her taking care of our dogs! She was absolutely amazing from start to finish and treated our dogs like they were her own. She made sure they were comfortable, loved, and well cared for, even letting them sleep with her so they could feel right at home. ❤️ She was also incredibly respectful of our home and left everything just as she found it. It gave us such peace of mind knowing our dogs were in such good hands while we were away. We truly couldn’t have asked for anyone better! We will definitely be using her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and dependable to watch their pets. We can’t wait to have her back! 🐾❤️

Sarah was amazing! She took excellent care of our babies and the house. She stayed in touch and sent lots of pictures. She has a delightful personality, perfect for our German Shepherd and kittens. She left the house cleaner than when I left!!! I highly recommend her.

Bradley took great care of our dogs and house while we were out of town for a week. She quickly responded and was comfortable asking questions about anything I may have forgotten to pass along about our dogs' care. I'll definitely be using Bradley again in the future!

Lynsey was incredible with my sensitive and special needs pup. She was very communicative and sent daily updates and pics. She is very concerned and careful about following protocols and schedules and I really appreciate that! She was also left my apartment cleaner than it was when I left so that was an unexpected and much appreciated bonus!!

Where should I start with May?! Hours before our flight out of the States, our previously booked house sitter let us know her mother had passed the previous night and that she understandably wouldn't be able to be at our house for the 2 weeks we'd be away. Frantic, we got on Rover. We saw that Maybel currently has no animals, was in Weaverville, had good reviews, and could work from anywhere, which I thought would be a big plus in this last minute booking. I also saw she previously had a Yorkie, which Hercules is. She heard our story and was a available for a meet and greet within the hour. She came, we did the meet and greet, we left and she decided to stay and work! It was clear she and the dogs were going to get along perfectly! Around day 10 of her stay at our place, she informed us that our basement was collecting some water and this escalated and she ended up having to take one of our dogs to her place as our house became unlivable for humans (gotta have working drains!) She handled a crappy situation with grace and made sure the dogs (and turtle) would be okay. Maybel was amazing and I could recommend her more.

Our former and loved dog sitter is no longer in business. It's always a little scary starting with someone new. Kay is now our favorite dog sitter! She did a great job with all three of our animals plus I came home to the dog food container refilled, clean cat bowls, and more. We are already making plans for a future trip and Kay is our first stop!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Weaverville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Weaverville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Weaverville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Weaverville. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
