Megan stepped up last minute and gave Kyla the extra attention and love that she needed. We felt completely comfortable while away thanks to the updates about her condition, plethora of pictures, and prompt replies! She even went to the vet to pick up additional meds and provided an update about the vets suggestions. We could not have been more comfortable, appreciative, and overall overjoyed with how well she took care of Kyla. About: I’ve been sitting dogs at my Florida home for many years. I moved to Asheville two years ago for work and now I’m mostly retired. I live in North Asheville in a small apartment and available to house and pet sit. Having boarded dogs in my own house for many years you can bet I will give your home utmost respect and your pets the best care and companionship. Walk dogs. Play with the dogs and cats and keep them content. And hang out on watch lots of TV together. Since I’m mostly retired I have lots of free time to spend with the pets. All instructions by owner for their pet care will be closely followed and respected. I’m sensitive about pets food needs and won’t feed them human food or let them up on the furniture if not allowed. Cat litter boxes will be cleaned daily. Longer stays will include brushing and baths for the dogs.

My boy Melvin is very skittish and inclined to be fearful of new men, but Levon put him at ease right away, and Melvin was licking his face and trying to climb on him within minutes of our first meeting! I’m blown away by how Levon immediately knew exactly how to handle and communicate with Melvin—my guy is definitely a tough case with major anxiety and leash reactivity (which means 62 lbs jerking at your arm when our passing-trigger protocol fails to keep him calm), and Levon is literally the one and only person I feel comfortable handing the leash to as of right now. I was finally able to take a three-day trip without Melvin over Thanksgiving because of Levon—I hadn’t been able to do that since adopting him because he’s such a handful and has some special needs—and I was actually able to enjoy myself without worrying about Melvin! For him it was just a great visit with his buddy who took him for awesome outings to walk and hike, and quality time at the house where he received lots of love and attention. Melvin and I are so grateful to have Levon as our go-to now for when I want to schedule trips, and also as someone who can bring him out on adventures for extra exercise and stimulation!”

“Highly recommend! Albert (David) was awesome with our three dogs! They’re not the easiest—one is giant, one is high anxiety, and one is blind. And they all have special medication procedures. Plus we have a quirky century-old house that’s not the easiest either…but David was not phased by any of this! The dogs instantly loved him at the meet and greet, and we came home to them completely calm and happy (which means they got lots of love and attention and walks)! We hope he’s always available when we need a sitter.”

Hannah is awesome! We are so grateful that we found someone who is good with both our dogs and our cats. We have two elderly dogs and she gives them all the special care and attention that they need. Sarah was amazing! She took excellent care of our babies and the house. She stayed in touch and sent lots of pictures. She has a delightful personality, perfect for our German Shepherd and kittens. She left the house cleaner than when I left!!! I highly recommend her.

Lynsey was incredible with my sensitive and special needs pup. She was very communicative and sent daily updates and pics. Where should I start with May?! Hours before our flight out of the States, our previously booked house sitter let us know her mother had passed the previous night and that she understandably wouldn't be able to be at our house for the 2 weeks we'd be away. Frantic, we got on Rover. We saw that Maybel currently has no animals, was in Weaverville, had good reviews, and could work from anywhere, which I thought would be a big plus in this last minute booking. I also saw she previously had a Yorkie, which Hercules is. She heard our story and was a available for a meet and greet within the hour. She came, we did the meet and greet, we left and she decided to stay and work! It was clear she and the dogs were going to get along perfectly! Around day 10 of her stay at our place, she informed us that our basement was collecting some water and this escalated and she ended up having to take one of our dogs to her place as our house became unlivable for humans (gotta have working drains!) She handled a crappy situation with grace and made sure the dogs (and turtle) would be okay. Maybel was amazing and I could recommend her more.
Our former and loved dog sitter is no longer in business. It's always a little scary starting with someone new. Kay is now our favorite dog sitter! She did a great job with all three of our animals plus I came home to the dog food container refilled, clean cat bowls, and more. We are already making plans for a future trip and Kay is our first stop!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kate is a rockstar! We left Kate in charge of our very complicated farm crew: two giant livestock guardian dogs (like “personal security detail” but fluffier), goats, chickens, a working barn cat, a porch cat, and the “orange boys” (our food-motivated indoor/outdoor cats). She handled it all like an absolute pro. We’ve had pet sitters before, but Kate is next level; a true Animal Whisperer. From the start, she was organized, asked all the right questions, and really took the time to understand how our place works. While we were gone, she kept us updated with sweet photo messages and little notes about everyone’s day. She managed to charm our big intimidating dogs and convince a broody chicken to give up her eggs (no surprise chicks for us, thanks to Kate!). When we came home, the animals were happy, the house was spotless, and it honestly looked like no one had even stayed here. Our critters were all clearly smitten. Kate is kind, capable, and genuinely great with animals. Highly recommend her to anyone… unless you were hoping to hire her the same week we need her again. 😉
