Skye was incredible! They are a breeze to communicate with and sent so many incredible photos every day. I could tell that my babies were well taken care of. They were super respectful of our requests and our house was spotless when we came home after our trip. We will definitely book with them again in the future!

Megan did an extraordinarily beautiful job kitty sitting with Rosie. She was there for Rosie in all the most important ways, giving her truely undivided attention. She gave Rosie whole assurance that she was completely there for her, taking care and overseeing all her needs as well as being truly a faithful companion and a dear playful friend which she needed. Megan has a special intelligence and truely a deep for working with animals. She brought constancy in the way she followed through with everything she did for Rosie. I would most highly recommend her as a kitty sitter Megan brought an invaluable intelligence to the job. She brought invaluable skills to the job with a deep understanding for Rosie’s needs.

Our second time using Becca to sit with mister pickles and I can tell he was not missing me very much at all! He can’t wait for her to come back in fact he’s already asking me when my next vacation is 😅.

Juliann is exceptional. She provided full-time care for our two dogs and one cat and also took care of our home while we traveled internationally for two weeks. She provided consistent communication with text updates and daily photos/videos. She was also very respectful of our space. It was clear when we came home that our pets were well loved and cared for while we were away.

Highly recommend. She stayed at my place for a few days with my cats and made the whole experience super easy. We were able to meet up prior. She sent lots of pics and updates, and communication was great the whole time. My cats warmed up to her really quickly, which says a lot, and I could tell they were happy and well taken care of. I also felt comfortable trusting her with my home. Would definitely book her again!

Summer was wonderful with Ace! Not everyone is comfortable around a Doberman, but from the moment she walked in, Ace was completely at ease with her. She followed all of our instructions and sent us daily photos and updates, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. She also took great care of our home, leaving everything clean and tidy. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would highly recommend Summer to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring. We will definitely use her again

About: Almost 20 years experience caring for cats, dogs and rodents with special care of elderly and medically fragile pets. I have pet sat all over the USA through trusted house sitters app and can’t wait to be spending regular time caring for animals again. I have experience training my own cat to do tricks, wear a harness, and go on walks. I’m currently a student at App State and spend time in both Black Mountain with my wife and in Boone for school. I have a flexible schedule during the weekdays and weekends open availability. I love going on walks and runs daily and leash trained my cat to go with me sometimes. I will also be available holidays and have more time during school semester breaks. I only care for pets in their own home due to wanting to keep a stable environment for my own cat. I believe attention and routine are important for pets and strive to give them as much time as possible while also sticking with their regular routines for walking, feeding, training, etc.

Caitlin was wonderful. She was on time for a meet and greet, and after going over everything, we booked her for a vacation coming up. At the last minute, we needed Caitlin to spend the evening with Luna because our dog was adjusting to losing her companion and changing locations, and we were going out with friends all day and then again all evening. Luna was very chill when we got home late. I look forward to a stress-free vacation knowing that Luna is in good hands with Caitlin.

I was so grateful to Tabby for making herself available with shorter notice to take care of my big tabby cat, Bob, while I was out of town! She stayed at my house and was great about giving updates, sending photos and being responsive. Tabby definitely has a way with cats, and Bob warmed up to her immediately! He was happy and content when I got back! I definitely will reach out to Tabby again.

Highly recommend, we will be using Kyla again in the future for sure . Not being from here we were very iffy on who can watch the dogs , as 2 of them are alittle older and 1 that is only 2 years old , the meet and greet went great the dogs loved her and we felt very safe with Kyla watching our babies .

Laina was an excellent caretaker for Cooper. Cooper has lots of anxiety and needs lots of patience which Laina was able to provide. She had great communication the whole time and made me feel comfortable Cooper was cared for. As difficult as Cooper can be to handle she was able to do it. I would happily recommend Laina to anyone who wants their dog cared for properly for their specific needs. She even got Cooper to feel comfortable enough to lick her hand which is not like him with new people. Great communication, great care, ten out of ten experience, by far the best I could’ve hired. Thank you so much Laina!

Laura is an amazing pet and house sitter! My pup can have some behaviors nand trouble meeting new people, but he immediately loved Laura and felt comfortable with her. My kitties too are very skiddish, but from photos they seemed to be comfortable with Laura’s presence. Not to mention, I came home to a clean house which enabled me to relax after a busy weekend away. Thank you so much and the fur babies cannot wait to see you again!

Luna can be a bit funny with new people, being pretty anxious and not wanting to be petted. Hannah was patient with Luna, adjusting as needed to try to keep Luna as comfortable and less stressed as possible. Eventually, Luna calmed down and was sleeping in the bed with Hannah and allowing pets, which means she was finally comfortable with Hannah. The daily updates with pictures gave me peace of mind while I was away from my pup, too! I will for sure use Hannah again for future dogsitting needs!

Our former and loved dog sitter is no longer in business. It's always a little scary starting with someone new. Kay is now our favorite dog sitter! She did a great job with all three of our animals plus I came home to the dog food container refilled, clean cat bowls, and more. We are already making plans for a future trip and Kay is our first stop!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kate is a rockstar! We left Kate in charge of our very complicated farm crew: two giant livestock guardian dogs (like “personal security detail” but fluffier), goats, chickens, a working barn cat, a porch cat, and the “orange boys” (our food-motivated indoor/outdoor cats). She handled it all like an absolute pro. We’ve had pet sitters before, but Kate is next level; a true Animal Whisperer. From the start, she was organized, asked all the right questions, and really took the time to understand how our place works. While we were gone, she kept us updated with sweet photo messages and little notes about everyone’s day. She managed to charm our big intimidating dogs and convince a broody chicken to give up her eggs (no surprise chicks for us, thanks to Kate!). When we came home, the animals were happy, the house was spotless, and it honestly looked like no one had even stayed here. Our critters were all clearly smitten. Kate is kind, capable, and genuinely great with animals. Highly recommend her to anyone… unless you were hoping to hire her the same week we need her again. 😉

FAQs for House Sitting - Flat Creek

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Flat Creek on Rover is $81.6 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 648 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Flat Creek. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Flat Creek walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Flat Creek maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Flat Creek choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Flat Creek. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
