“Caitlin was amazing. Sent daily pictures and updates of my dog. My dog is spoiled rotten with attention, food, love etc. Caitlin was able to give all of that to her while we were away for 10 days!!”

“A caring person and obviously very much an animal lover. She provided lots of feedback and pix. I was really pleased she was able to do our steep walking trail and so Toby got good workouts each day. That is not common with pet sitters I’ve had and so much appreciated. I was completely confident that she was providing excellent care while I was gone. Such a relief to feel you don’t have worry about a thing!”

“Neil took great care of our two dogs and pet rabbit while we were out of town. He accommodated us on short notice and made me feel comfortable while I was away. I know our pups received so much attention and cuddles while we were gone. It's also the first time I've gone out of town, and our stubborn senior rabbit didn't venge-pee outside of the litter box after I returned (he has a habit of staring at me while doing this to voice his displeasure). 10 out of 10!”

“First time working with Stacy. She did a great job sitting Emma for a short weekend getaway. Emma got her daily walks and usual belly rubs. Stacy also took extra special care to comfort her during the night when she was missing her parents.”

“Hannah did a great job watching our 1 year old dog! She was kind and communicative, and followed the instructions that were given. Our dog made a huge mess in the living room (which was a miscommunication on our part) and Hannah cleaned up the mess so thoroughly. We so appreciated not having to come home and immediately clean up. We would definitely hire Hannah again!”

“Brandon was the best! He came and met our dog who is always apprehensive about new people. Within in minutes of Brandon’s initial visit our dog was sitting in his lap like he had known him forever. Brandon messaged us the day before he was supposed to come stay with our pets confirming times. He arrived on time and sent videos while we were away. He truly is a wonderful pet sitter!”

“Bretta was so wonderful to our pets and our home! We have 5 animals with unique needs and personalities (including one that requires meds post-surgery) and she did such a great job meeting each of their needs! I definitely recommend her!!”

“Kathleen was a great help taking care of our two dogs while we were out of town overnight! She was very communicative with updates and photos and was comfortable with giving oral meds. We would highly recommend her and hope to book her again soon. Thanks again Kathleen!”

“Hannah is always very quick to respond and provides plenty of pupdates. She makes it easy to relax while on trips because we know our dogs and home are well taken care of.”

“Amy was wonderful and communicative throughout her stay while we were away! She made sure that our doggos were loved and fed, and continued to remind us that we can reach out if any adjustments or actions were needed from our end. Would highly recommend her!”

“Nathan was a wonderful house/dog/cat sitter! would highly recommend to anyone that needs care for their pets while out of town. great communication, and super great with all animals!”

“We had a great experience with JoHannah! She was able to spend a lot of time with my 5 pets while we were away. She sent many photos and was quick to respond when we reached out. The house was clean and the pets were calm when we returned from our trip. Would book with her again. Thanks JoHannah!”

“James is a joy. He took great care of the dogs and our home. We came home to a clean and tidy home. He took care of everything we had asked him to do and would highly recommend him again”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Woodfin
I highly recommend Jessica as a sitter. She was very attentive and sensitive to my senior dog's needs, and I felt very comfortable leaving her in Jessica's care. She is warm, responsive and responsible, and communicates well. She also left my house in great shape. I wouldn't hesitate to use her again.
I had a great experience with Alice and highly recommend her! I have two cats who need a little extra care—an 18-year-old senior and a hairless cat with a long list of instructions. Alice took wonderful care of both of them and gave them lots of attention while staying overnight at my home. She sent me daily pictures and updates, kept up with their food and water, and I could tell when I got home that both cats were happy and well cared for. She also kept my home very clean and even started washing the sheets and towels before I returned, which was so thoughtful. I felt completely comfortable having Alice care for my cats and will definitely book her again!

Jordan is such a wonderful pet sitter! My girls love her, she leaves the place cleaner than when she arrived and sends tons of fun updates and pictures while she’s here. You can also immediately tell she’s a kind and caring person in general. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone seeking a sitter.

Gabriel was an outstanding dog sitter! He took exceptional care of our dog and our home. When our dog got sick and threw up, he cleaned everything up without hesitation and kept the house spotless. He sent regular updates with photos and messages, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. He also noticed that our dog’s ear was starting to look infected and, after checking with us first, started her prescribed ear drops right away. We really appreciated his attentiveness and communication. Gabriel truly went above and beyond. We would absolutely book him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and responsible pet sitter!

We left Megan with our baby for 10 days while we were overseas. He had such a great time, and we got pictures of his days throughout our vacation. We came back to a spotless house and a very happy pup, will absolutely be booking Megan for our next out of town stay!

Natasha was very patient with our dog while he adjusted to the new person in the house. She provided multiple updates daily, worked with the schedule we had provided her, and even volunteered to stay a little longer on the last day to help keep our boy calm during some thunderstorms that rolled in before we got home; we’ll definitely be using her again!

Nava helped us out after a last-minute cancellation, and she was AWESOME! She was easy-going and flexible, chatted with me for an hour on face time to get the lay of the land, then figured out how to keep our lively pups happy. She sent tons of pictures, asked great questions, and left the home in great condition. I appreciate her so much and would highly recommend her!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Woodfin walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Woodfin maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Woodfin choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Woodfin. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
