“We had a wonderful experience leaving our energetic puppy with Laura! She sent us updates regularly and gave feedback on how our dog was doing each day. Her home is very welcoming and she is clearly a lover of all dogs. Our dog was very happy when we picked her up and was well taken care of. We will definitely be using Laura again.”

“Holly is the best! Our little guys had a fantastic time staying a few days, it was relaxing for them. The photo updates were great, we could tell they were in good hands.”

“We only had our senior foster to adopt pup for a week and found ourselves scrambling to find a pet sitter in the last minute. Fortunately, I stumbled on Rover and miraculously found Ryan. Ryan had us visit before booking to make sure everything would be a good fit. My daughter and I fell in love with Ryan, her animals, and her home. Buddy(dog) immediately took to Ryan and spent most of the time snuggling next to her. Since we only had Buddy for a week, we all knew there may be some behavior issues that surface. Ryan stayed in direct communication with me, letting me know how he was doing and giving me pointers on how to handle some of his behavior issues. I highly recommend Ryan!!!!”

“Keily went above and beyond or expectations! We received daily check ins with pictures and videos. The environment she provided was excellent for our high energy dog with several walks and activities to meet the demand or dog needed. It felt like our pup was on her own vacation and apart of her family. We are so happy to have found Keily and will be utilizing her services in the future. 10/10 recommended.”

“Elizabeth was fantastic! She kept us updated on how our dog Theo was doing (first time away from us since he was a puppy) and even included photos with his status. She took him on dailey walks and treated him with kindness. Couldn't ask for a better sitter for our kid-puppy!”

“Michaela is wonderful!! She sent photos and updates throughout the day and made sure my dog was always comfortable and safe. She’s one of the best sitters I’ve used on Rover.”

“Gabrielle was a great communicator and took pictures daily for us to see how she was doing. Sienna appeared happy and relaxed when we picked her up. I would definitely recommend Gabrielle for pet sitting.”

“Maria and Jose took great care of our girl. They instantly made us feel comfortable and asked great questions to understand all her needs. They sent us tons of videos/pics throughout her stay which put us at ease knowing she was having a blast playing with their dogs and going on walks. I highly recommend them as they were great with our puppy.”

“Oh my goodness, Bridget rules! Like any good pet owner, we get stressed leaving our boy behind for trips he can’t tag along on, and Bridget ensured that Rigby had tons of play time, walks, and rest. She was super communicative and sent lots of updates. We feel like Rigby is in good hands with her!”

“Lizzie is just phenomenal. She was flexible about drop off/pick up, and she sent me photos of our dog several times. She genuinely seems to love dogs! I would highly recommend her, and we plan to definitely rebook. :)”

“Crystal and Myles took such good care of our sweet boy! He gets nervous when we leave him, but quickly settled and seemed so at home by pick up that I’m not sure he wanted to leave haha - thank you for making Winnie feel so loved!”

“My pup Pickles stayed with Brody for a week while I was out of town. Brody has great demeanor and command with all the dogs he takes care of. Always seems to have multiple on site which was a bonus for me as it gave Pickles lots of social time with the others. Every dog that was there, when I was present, listened well and and seemed very happy. I had the chance to check out the set-up before booking and there's plenty of room to roam, play or relax - whether each dog wants to socialize or just hang out by themselves. Finally, his "dog cave" (think Man-Cave/She-shed) was perfect for the dogs to cool off and sleep in a climate controlled and peaceful environment - with each dog having their own crate to call home. Brody provided pics/videos of Pickles to ease my mind - knowing he was being well taken care of and happy in my absence.”

“My doggy seemed to have a really good time with Josh and Autumn and their children. Especially the kids seem to enjoy my dog, which is always a good sign. I hope they are available the next time I need to have my doggie careful for”

“We left our two fairly high maintenance pups with Robin for a long weekend and she was wonderful! Very communicative and sent us lots of updates. She even was super flexible when we needed her to keep them one extra night due to plane delays. Winston is a lovely little guy too ;) Definitely would recommend her for taking care of your fur babies. Thanks Robin!! :)”

“Adaira was fantastic, and I’m certain Meatball had a wonderful time! The photos were amazing, and the daily communication was excellent. I’d definitely see if Adaira was available if Meatball needs a place to stay next time!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fletcher
Taylor was fantastic to work with. This was our first time leaving our fur baby, and she met with us beforehand to ensure compatibility. Scout was instantly comfort in her home. We were out of the country but still got pictures of our girl. Lucky for us we were arriving home to the ice storm covering all WNC, Taylor kept us updated on weather and helped us with contingency plans with all the travel uncertainty. Taylor will always be our choice for keeping our baby.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
