“Sharon is a loving and considerate companion that kept our elderly dog Kuma happy and healthy while we were away. Her wonderful attention to his daily needs was outstanding. Kuma enjoyed every minute of the warm and loving care Sharon gave to him everyday. The pictures and videos showed how he loved Sharon and how happy he was. Sharon would be an excellent pet sitter for your pets and we would highly recommend her services.”

“We had our 8mo Chihuahua mix pup, Zelda, stay with Julie while we were out of the country & we won't use anyone else in the future. We hadn't left our pup with anyone yet & Julie graciously hosted a meet & greet in her home so I could see where she'd be staying. From the moment Julie sat on the floor to meet my timid pup where she was at, I knew that she understood exactly what dogs needed. The drop off before our trip was a breeze, as she had Zelda engaged in play & we just slipped out quietly. Julie was very communicative, kept us up to date on the adventures they were having & sent us lots of pics of our sweet little lady throughout each day. It was awesome to see Zelda having so much fun & being loved on, just as much we do. We had a bit of trouble with delayed flights coming back to the US, & Julie had no problem being flexible with keeping Zelda another day. Julie is one of the most kind & thoughtful humans. She put papertowels in between the food dishes when she packed everything up & put a note to remind us the peanut butter was in the bag so we didn't leave it out of the fridge too long after the days of travel we had. She snuck a welcome home card in, too. There are so many examples I could give of the type of caretaker & human Julie is, but the fact that I never worried once about Zelda while we were gone really says it all (I admittedly am an anxious control freak of a pet parent). I know Zelda loves her just as much as we do because she greeted us with barks & hackles up until she realized we were her long lost parents. 😆”

“Diane is absolutely wonderful! She took the best care of our big boy Cane. She communicates regularly with updates and puts your worrying mind at ease. She made Cane feel so comfortable as it was his first trip away from “Mom & Dad.” Her dog, June is sweet and played beautifully with Cane in the big fenced-in yard. I will definitely schedule Diane in the future for our pet-sitting needs and highly recommend her for yours.”

“Sher was the absolute best! I’ve never left my dog overnight before, but she sent real time real time photos and updates. I felt completely comfortable with her keeping ladybug for the long weekend. highly recommend!”

“Keily went above and beyond or expectations! We received daily check ins with pictures and videos. The environment she provided was excellent for our high energy dog with several walks and activities to meet the demand or dog needed. It felt like our pup was on her own vacation and apart of her family. We are so happy to have found Keily and will be utilizing her services in the future. 10/10 recommended.”

“Laura was so wonderful to our Theo. The updates and photos we received from her gave us the piece of mind we needed to be able to relax on our vacation. I don’t think I could have chosen a more loving home for him to be in. We will definitely be rebooking with her again.”

“I cannot express how much we appreciate Julie! She is extremely responsible, always reliable, and loves my dog like one of her own. This is the first time we did an in-home stay for our large, goofy lab. The peace of mind we have knowing he is so well taken care of is invaluable. I highly recommend Julie.”

“Maggie so enjoyed her visit with Christina! Maggie has been an indoor city girl in Florida her entire life. This was her first time having the run of a yard. Christina’s yard is huge with lots of trees and things to climb on/through. Her Boxer Bandit and Maggie became buddies right away. Christina was the perfect hostess. Maggie’s 3-day stay could not have been better. I highly recommend her and Maggie will definitely visit again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Calvin was the perfect sitter for our sweet, aging boy. He was kind, affectionate with Bates, welcoming and obviously took excellent care of our pup. Calvin sent many sweet and lovely photos and it was obvious that Bates loved him and felt comfortable. We are hoping that Calvin can continue to watch Bates when necessary. He was exactly who we needed. 🐶🥰”

“Holly is the best! Our little guys had a fantastic time staying a few days, it was relaxing for them. The photo updates were great, we could tell they were in good hands.”

“Toni is fantastic. She went over and above to make sure that our senior dog had the best care - giving her meds and lots of extra snuggles. She provided lots of updates and photos throughout our time away. We highly recommend Toni!”
“Tiffany was a godsend! She was able to work with out crazy active Beagle puppy named Cooper. It was like a happy camp for him and he got along with her dog very well. She sent lots of pictures of him running around, taking naps, and playing. You don’t have to worry about your dog or puppy if you get Tiffany as a dog sitter! She was on it all the time and gave lots of positive attention to our pup! We will definitely be using her again:-)”

“We left our two fairly high maintenance pups with Robin for a long weekend and she was wonderful! Very communicative and sent us lots of updates. She even was super flexible when we needed her to keep them one extra night due to plane delays. Winston is a lovely little guy too ;) Definitely would recommend her for taking care of your fur babies. Thanks Robin!! :)”

“I had such a great experience with Adaira! This was my first time leaving my kitten, and I was a little nervous, but they made me feel totally at ease. Communication was excellent from start to finish they checked in, sent photos and updates, and were quick to respond to any messages. It was clear my kitten was well cared for and comfortable the whole time. I really appreciated the extra attention and care they gave. I’d absolutely recommend Adaira to anyone looking for a compassionate pet sitter.”

About: I have had dogs my whole life. I have experience caring for puppies, elderly dogs and sick/disabled dogs. I can administer medication, if needed. My dogs are our family members and yours will be treated the same. I am currently working from home so your pet won’t be left home alone for very long periods. I am available during the week and weekends including holidays. I have two very sweet and mellow Cavalier King Charles Spaniels to keep your doggie company. They will have access to 2 separate fenced in areas, one with a doggie door. Your dog can be crated or not and are welcome on the furniture with our dogs. Ours sleep in an x-pen together but your dog can sleep where ever it prefers. I want them to be comfortable like it is their own home.
“Kali was wonderful! She has has an obvious natural love for animals & made our dog feel immediately welcome & comfortable. We look forward to using her again in the future.”

“Leslie is the BEST! We loved her kind, gentle attitude and the love and individual attention she gave Floyd. She welcomed him into her home and treated him like her own. We (and especially Floyd) loved that she took him on hikes every day. We will definitely use Leslie again!”

About: I have 2+ years of experience caring for dogs and cats, providing a safe, comfortable, and loving environment while their families are away. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, so I take the time to make sure they feel at home and receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I’m dependable, attentive, and safety-focused, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply relaxing in a comfortable environment, I’ll make sure they receive personalized care throughout their stay. Monday through Friday, I leave for work around 7:30 AM and return home at noon for lunch. I head back to work around 1 PM and am usually home between 4–5 PM. This allows me to check in, provide attention, feeding, and potty breaks throughout the day. On weekends, I’m usually home all day studying, so your pet will have plenty of company, attention, and care. I live in a comfortable apartment complex with plenty of safe outdoor areas for walks, exercise, and potty breaks. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
