“Came thru on short notice and was the perfect spot for my little guy. Her fenced in yard and limit of one Rover meant Porkchop had plenty of attention. Will definitely be a repeat customer.. ?????.. 5Paws up!”
“Lucia and Michel took such great care of my little Tater while I was traveling out of the country! Their updates were informative and reassuring that Tater, as an elderly lil man was acclimating to their lovely home. When he was having a potential allergic reaction to a bee sting, they sprung into action as if he was their own caring for him. I was so grateful for their caring attention to my baby! I hope to use them again in the future and would highly recommend!🐶❤️”

“Anna and her family took in my dog Buddy. I was nervous leaving him because buddy had severe separation anxiety and is really mean towards people he is unfamiliar with. When I dropped him off, he immediately fell in love and didn’t even think twice to look back as I left. When I picked him up, he always looked depressed leaving their home and returning to mine! I absolutely am glad Anna was able to watch him. I highly recommend, especially for dogs with separation anxiety, elder care and special care instructions. I am glad to know that I have someone Buddy and I both trust to watch him when I go on business trips.”

“We love leaving Mic with Judy and her pups! He enjoys being with them and we feel he has a safe and well taken care of while we’re away. We’ve been using Judy for over three years and will continue.”

“Thor loved being with Abby and Dustin! They were very flexible and responsive and they sent me lots of pictures to keep me updated! They communicated often with me and were so so nice! i definitely would recommend, they took the time to get to know me and my dog and made sure everyone was comfortable! i will definitely book them again!”

“Mary is so attentive and cares for my dog Cooper so well. She was concerned about some symptoms he was having and shared them in a text and video. We consulted with each other and my 16 yo pup was just fine. I appreciate her concern and care very much. I will be booking with Mary again.”

“Vanessa did an amazing job with my two girls! She was extremely easy and flexible to work with, and understood each of their individual quirks & needs. One of my dogs is very scared of people and she even was cuddling next to Vanessa by the end of their stay. Both of my dogs loved her and I will definitely be using her again in the future!”

“Margery (and her pup Chica) are the absolute best!! My dog stayed with them for 8 days, the longest I had ever been away from her. I felt no mom guilt, I knew she was having the best time while I was gone! Margery sent pictures and updates every day, which I absolutely loved. And I could tell she treated my little lady as one of her own. I highly recommend her for any dog sitting needs!”

About: I have had a dog as long as I can remember. I have had many dogs and a few cats over the years and spent 7 years fostering dogs while living in DC. During my fostering, I had the opportunity to train puppies, learn how to introduce dogs into homes with other dogs, and care for senior pups, keeping one of my fosters until she passed. I love all kinds of animals and will take care of your pets like I do my own - with lots of love, a few treats, and tons of attention! I work part-time and am available mornings and evenings with possible option for mid-day visits. I am available for dog walking, spending time playing with your fur baby and for pet sitting overnight in your home. My ultimate goal is to ensure your pet receives proper care and attention, the same as I would my own pets. In my past experience as a working professional, I understand the difficutly of going away and worrying about your pets while you are gone, which is why I offer overnight pet sitting in your home so you can enjoy vacations and know your pets are comfortable in their home environment. I can also assist with plant watering and keeping an eye on your home as well while you are away.
About: I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and breeds! I have experience with mediation management and administration and am comfortable caring for medically complex or senior pets :) I work full time but do work from home about 75% of the time at least so I am home most of the day to care for your pets! I have two friendly dogs and two dog-savvy cats who get along with everyone! I can easily crate or separate animals into separate spaces in my home if the need arises
About: I have a lot of experience fostering and rehabilitating dogs who have had trauma, helping them come out of their shell and trusting humans again is my strength. I am available for walks in the mornings, afternoons and evenings. I am also flexible, able to stay in your home, and open to some overnight stays. I have a cozy, air conditioned home with my senior beagle to keep your pup company. Will always have fresh water and treats available. I also have a crate if needed. This is my full time job so I have plenty of time to play with your pup. We have a fun dog park nearby also lots of toys and cozy beds. We love going for drives, long walks and playing outside and doing zoomies. My senior beagle is a great helper and I have a crate if needed.
“Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to cancel my planned 3 day stay with Becca to just one day. Cooper seemed to enjoy the day with her. She fed him before I picked him up. Other than the exorbitant cancellation fee that Rover charges ($19), I was very happy”

“We were so happy to have Jessica take care of our little dog. She is so sweet and gentle with her. Winnie took to her immediately. It was a long stay of eight nights and Jessica made us feel confident that Winnie was being well taken care of. We appreciated everything she did for Winnie and wouldn't hesitate to rebook with her again in the future.”

“Lacie is 5 stars as well as A++!!!! She takes remarkable care of our special needs Havanese , Emma. I can’t recommend her enough!! We love Lacie and would trust her with anything we own. Thank you Lacie.”

“Dawn was so great! Gosh, I was a nervous dog mama using Rover for the first time and going out of town but her and her family loved up on my sweet Tess making her feel right at home! She was so understanding when Tessa act out of character and handled the whole process professionally and kind. Thank you Dawn for making my first River experience a great one!”

“Clare was absolutely wonderful! My dog Banjo (who is 13 but still spunky) had a great time playing with her dog, and she kept me updated with how he was doing and sent me photos. It seemed like he was a temporary member of the family and I felt very comfortable with him in her care. Will absolutely rebook next time we need dog care!”

“Hannah is always so great with our two dogs. Very accommodating and helps out with our one dog who requires scheduled medications. We will continue to use her in the future.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
