“Margery (and her pup Chica) are the absolute best!! My dog stayed with them for 8 days, the longest I had ever been away from her. I felt no mom guilt, I knew she was having the best time while I was gone! Margery sent pictures and updates every day, which I absolutely loved. And I could tell she treated my little lady as one of her own. I highly recommend her for any dog sitting needs!”

“Judy was an amazing sitter for our pups! She has an large yard for them to run around in and she gave them so much love and attention. We have a senior dog that requires oral medication and she was very knowledgeable on how to take care of him. She sent pictures regularly as well. We highly recommend Judy and will be using her again!”

“Julie was so, so wonderful to work with! I am so glad I found her! I have never used Rover before and have a brand new 2 month old kitten with some medical needs that I couldn’t board yet or leave with any family. She was very flexible to accept my kitten and the days I needed. Julie was welcoming and kind and did a great job with my little one. She sent daily updates and pictures of the activities they did. She made this process super easy and smooth. I will absolutely be reaching back out to her again if I need to board my cat again. Thank you so much, Julie!!”

“Abby and Dustin took great care of Iris during her stay. They were very easy to communicate with and sent great updates. I can tell they are dog lovers and would definitely book with them again.”

“Carrington was great, and very considerate & caring for my pup, Sammy. Was great with communication & amazing with sending updates & pictures, which was greatly appreciated!”

“We could not have asked for better sitters than Connie and Ron. They took SUCH good care of our two pups while we were away on vacation for a week. They messaged us every day with pictures and videos. It was such a comfort to know that they were in such caring and loving hands. Our pups got daily walks and lots of play time in Connie and Ron’s spacious back yard. They got lots of play time with their toys and cozy time in front of the fire…definitely a luxury they don’t get at home. They were fed on schedule and slept just like they do at home. Connie and Ron made sure they knew all their habits, including which bed belongs to which dog, what room they normally sleep in, etc. Connie and Ron very obviously loved our dogs very much and we pretty much now consider them extended family. We will find excuses to leave our pups with them again because they won’t want to be away from Connie and Ron—their amazing second parents—for too long! ❤️”

“Ana's exceptional communication and thoughtful gesture of sending pictures created a reassuring experience. Ana was also flexible with the schedule. Camila's happiness reflects the quality care provided by Ana. Highly recommended pet sitter!”
“Dasha loved her stay with Karen!! We received lots of updates via pictures and videos. Dasha came home calm and happy! (Although I think she’s a little sad to not be hanging out with her new friends). I will definitely be booking future stays with Karen. I particularly like that she knew how to introduce Dasha to her crew. It showed a high level of care, both for my pup and hers!!”

“Shayne was super amazing in taking care of my Golden pup! I can tell he had a great time with her from the pictures she sent me and she was also very communicative, keeping me updated with everything. I’ll totally book her again to look after my baby next time I leave town and absolutely recommend her to look after your fur babies!”

“Our dog had an amazing stay with Jared! We had tons of great pictures and updates sent to us throughout the stay and we can tell that our dog had a great time and was well loved while she was there. We will be happy to have Jared keep Honey in the future!!!”

“Quinn stayed with Raquel for a day and a half and had so much fun with her. Raquel sent me lots of photos of Quinn while I was out of town, which I greatly appreciate. Will definitely book with her again.”

“A BIG thank you to Rebecca & Stan for the loving care they provided for me and my two mini Aussies recently! I would most definitely recommend them to care for your beloved pets! Pam Simpsonville, SC”

About: Hello! My name is Alex and I have had a dog (or two) my entire life. Right now, Hank is my main man. He's a boxer mix I rescued in Albuquerque, NM in 2022. We think he's 5 or 6, so let's go with 5! I love all animals and I love being active so your pet is sure to have the best walk and/or playtime hanging with me. I'm a very reliable, attentive, and trustworthy person and pet owner and I promise to make your life (and your pet's) all the easier by taking the stress out of being away from home. I currently work from home so I can give your pet all the time and attention they deserve. I promise your pet will return safe, happy, and ready to play with me again :) I am available every day of the week, with the majority of my time spent at home and around my neighborhood. I drop my children off in the mornings to either camp or school, and do pick up in the afternoons. As long as I can work around those pick ups and drop offs, I'm available! I have a fully fenced yard and a large, pet-friendly house (non-smoking). I have a neutered boxer mix named Hank who we rescued back in 2022 in Albuquerque, NM. Hank is very friendly, energetic, and curious and always enjoys playing with a new friend.
“Rachel was a great sitter. Took very good care of Bella and sent us pictures too! We could tell from the photos that she was happy with Rachel. Will ask her again if we plan another trip this fall. Highly recommend her.”

“Honey had a great time with Deborah. She was well taken care of and Deborah sent pictures every day. If you need a caregiver for your pet, you can trust Deborah.”

“Garrett was amazing with my two dogs! We needed a sitter at the last minute and he was very flexible with us allowing us to schedule a quick meet and greet before the booking. It’s worth mentioning that one of my dogs can be a handful at times but Garrett was so patient with him. The communication was frequent all week long (including sending pictures). My dogs got along well with his sweet dog as well. We definitely hope to use his services again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Travelers Rest
Christina's pet yard was amazing. The cedar chips, smelled amazing and were kept clean. There was a pet agility course. During our meet and greet she taught me quite alot and helped my pup learn to use the rope tug pole. She kept my pup well exercised and sent daily updates. Her pictures were better than anything I have taken of my dog. She had a destructive and routine that allowed my dog to get more socialization with her dog. I think my dog came back with better manners than I dropped her off with! Christina has years of big breed experience. She is probably great with all sizes. But as I have a Belgian Malinois I wanted to make sure thst her first time boarding went well. Christina went above and beyond to take care of my dog.

I picked Cooper up today after a two day visit with Shana (And Archie!). A few hours after we got home, he was trying to tell me he needed something...after running through the usual things, I asked him if he wanted to go to Archie's and he ran and sat by the garage door. I think that is the best review I can give!

Our pup Scarlett had a great stay with Lauren and family. This was our first Rover experience and Lauren made sure she fit right in with the pack. We would definitely recommend Lauren. It really does ease the mind and let you enjoy your trip when you know your dog is having a positive experience. Thanks again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
