“Carrington was WONDERFUL! She watched our puppy for us for a couple days while we traveled and she sent many wonderful updates and seemed to care for him as if he was her own. We highly recommend her and plan to contact her first going forward for all of our pet sitting needs! Very kind and trustworthy, she really cares about your pet.”

“Lindsay was incredible! I received so many pics and updates of Max during his stay- it looked like he had a better vacation than I did! He was so well cared for, and we will definitely be repeat customers!”

“Nikki took EXCELLENT care of our two boys while we were away on vacation!! The boys were so content and happy in their home away from home that they ate their meals every day of their stay with Nikki; which they have never done when staying with other caregivers! The fact that Nikki is a retired Veterinarian and a dog trainer gave us tremendous peace of mind while we were away. Our boys had a fabulous time playing in the large fenced in backyard and meeting some of the new playmates that stayed with Nikki during their stay. They had just as wonderful a time on their vacation as we did on ours.”

“Jay is amazing! Always amazing! He took great care of my puppy while I was out of town, always sent photos, and was very communicative. I know my boy was well cared for and loved while I was away. Appreciate the peace of mind and all that Jay does!”

“Rachel was amazing and did a great job of watching Zoë and making her feel safe while I was away for a weekend. Even getting her nice treats for her birthday week. Hope she is available next time I am in need of boarding in this area. I recommend her to everyone!”

“Kendall was communicative and clearly loved on my pup like she was her own! I got pictures and videos and could tell that my dog was happy and settled. I will be looking to rebook in the near future!”

“Abby and Dustin were phenomenal! We were nervous leaving Sleepy with someone else, but we were quickly put at ease by the frequent updates and photos. Sleepy looked like he wasn’t missing a beat once he got acclimated. We can’t thank them enough for taking care of our precious fur-baby!”

“Love, love, love Cynthia! I have found a wonderful sitter and home away from home for my babies. She made sure my dogs were a good fit with her and her home, and by the time my vacation came around, they were excited to get to her house. I, and my family, were extremely pleased with her (and her family) and the love my dogs received. Don't hesitate to hire Cynthia! Thank you!”

“We are glad that we entrusted our dog to Megan.Thank you for your concern and kindness. We will be happy to use Megan's services in the future and recommend them to our friends.”

“Came thru on short notice and was the perfect spot for my little guy. Her fenced in yard and limit of one Rover meant Porkchop had plenty of attention. Will definitely be a repeat customer.. ?????.. 5Paws up!”
“We love Rusty and are so thankful he was here for us so we could get away for our vacation. You can tell he really loves dogs and enjoys getting to know their personalities. It’s hard for me to find somebody I trust and I know can handle our large German Shepherds but Rusty is more then equipped. Thanks for being patient with our pups as they got used to being around other dogs and being away from home!”

“Miriam was awesome! She was super responsive and sent lots of photos of Skye! Skye seemed very happy with her stay! We will definitely have her watch Skye again ☺️”

About: Hi my name is Cailin- Kay for short and I love dogs! I adopted my dog, Rico 7 years ago-best decision ever!!! Rico was instantly loved and he quickly became a very spoiled but VERY well behaved little prince :) After getting some experience with Rico, I volunteered to sit for my friends daschund while they went away for the weekend. This was a success and soon enough I was also sitting for friends of friends, family, & aquaintences- dogs of all sizes! (Laberdoodle, Lab, Boxer, Pomeranians, etc). I’m new to SC and work from home so I’d love to watch a local pup (preferably on the smaller size) during the day to keep them entertained and give my pup a buddy to play with. :) Look forward to hearing from you!! I work from home 8:30-5 so I’d love to watch a local pup (preferably on the smaller size) during the day to keep them entertained and give my pup a buddy to play with. :) I have one friendly chihuahua who is good with other dogs. My goal is to find a small dog that just needs some extra company during the day so they're not alone while your off at work, etc.
“April kept my pup for 9 days while I was away on vacation. I returned to a very happy Sergeant. With only watching one dog at a time, lots of one on one time. Will most certainly use April in the future!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
