“Choco"s stay with Nikki was great. I was so afraid to leave him because he hasn't been away from me or my husband for more than a day. He is 15 years old. His stay with Nikki was amazing. He was treated like I would treat him at home, he was treated like family. I will definitely use Nikki again when I need to be away in the future. For anyone considering someone to watch your fur baby Nikki is the best and I wholeheartedly recommend her. If you want someone to treat your baby like you would I suggest you go with Nikki. Nikki exceeded my expectations.”

“Dorothy did a wonderful job of watching our dog at her home. We enjoyed daily updates and photos. Our dog is on a daily medication (3 times a day) and Dorothy insured that each med was given at the correct time. Definite strength is her communication and quick responses.”

“We had a great experience Carrington! It was obvious that my pup was getting plenty of attention, exercise, and affection from her. I also appreciated the photo updates she sent throughout the day. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!”

“Madi and her family were so welcoming and loving to my girls. They provided peace of mind and were accommodating to our extra needs due to being stuck out of town longer than anticipated. She sent multiple daily updates with photos showing me they were in the best of care. My girls experienced so many cuddles, walks, and a lot of playtime…they may have even been reluctant to leave Madi’s home! The communication was beyond excellent and I for sure trust her with my dogs again! 🐾🩷💕”

“If you’re looking for someone who treats your dogs like her own and gives them a fun, loving experience — book Mandy! We will 100% be using her again. Why did we love her? She truly lets dogs be dogs — and Khan and Flynn had an absolute blast under her care. Whether they were romping at the dog park, relaxing at her home, or out on fun walks, we could tell they were having the time of their lives. Mandy is incredibly flexible, fast to communicate, and went above and beyond to keep us updated. We got daily highlights of their adventures, complete with tons of adorable pictures and fun videos that made us smile every time. We felt completely at ease knowing our pups were so well cared for, entertained, and loved. If you’re looking for someone who treats your dogs like family, look no further — Mandy is the best!”

“We used Wendy to watch our dog Max for the second time last week. She sends pictures every day and I know from her comments that he is well taken care of. She says her girls love him and I won’t hesitate to use her and her family again!”

“Megan was available last minute after having trouble getting a sitter. She kept us updated with pictures everyday. Our boy came back happy & tired. I will be using her again in the future! Thank you!”

“This was the second time our big shepard mix girl (Indy) stayed with April and her family. Indy sure had a great summer vacation, playing with April's daughter inside and outside in the fenced in backyard. We can only recommend April for pet boarding.”

About: New to rover, but not new to sitting! I’ve cared for animals my whole life, including many years with my own cat through every stage, into her senior years. We've helped care for dogs for friends and family, focusing on fun and comfort, and are hoping to care for others! Though not current pet owners ourselves, we enjoy having animals in the home and aim to provide a safe and loving environment for every fur-baby we care for. Being home throughout most days of the week allows pet care to fit very naturally into our daily routine. Pets receive regular potty breaks, consistent feeding, playtime, and plenty of supervision throughout the day. We have a family home environment, therefore we only accept pets who are comfortable around children. A structured routine works especially well for pets who thrive on consistency, and we only take one pet at a time which allows for focused attention and care. In our home, your fur-baby will be cared for in a structured, family oriented setting where they can feel safe and settled. We aim to follow each pet’s normal schedule as closely as possible, including feeding times, potty breaks, exercise, and rest. A large fenced yard provides plenty of space for supervised roaming, play, and outdoor time throughout the day. For safety, we ask that pets be up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick prevention before boarding or daycare stays. For drop in visits, the focus is on helping pets stay relaxed and cared for in their own familiar space. Each visit includes attention, fresh water, feeding if needed, potty breaks or playtime, and close attention to behavior and overall well being.

“I’m very happy with the care Rufo received. It was my first time leaving him with sitters, and they made me feel completely at ease. They kept me updated with photos and videos, and I could tell Rufo was happy and well cared for. I’ll definitely book with them again”

“Jonathan was very nice and Annie was able to play with Samantha, his 9 month old German Shepherd. I think she had a good time the couple of days I was away. Jonathan sent me texts and a video to let me know how she was doing.”

“Andre and her family did a fantastic job caring for our mini bernedoodle! Andre was prompt with all communication and scheduling was easy. Her home is welcoming and Biscotti really enjoyed playing with their sweet lab and snuggling her kids. We could tell Biscotti was well-cared for when we brought her back home- she was calm and happy and jumped right back into our family routines- like she had a great vacation too! Thanks, Andre and fam! We’ll definitely book with Andre again.”

“BEST DOG SITTER EVER!!! Margery was super attentive to my dog’s every need. She handled special feeding instructions, did daily walks, kept me informed with photos and texts, and kept my puppy happy and safe while I was out of town. Her home is immaculate and she has a darling dog that was a great playmate to my puppy. I am extremely picky and not easy to please. Margery is PERFECT!!!”

About: My family has had dogs and cats as long as I can remember. I've been taking care of them from a very young age as well as friends and neighbors when the were out of town. I currently work full time but I always have time to play with dogs on the weekends or through the week when I'm not working! I have a fenced in yard and a Golden Retriever and Great Pyrenees who love playing with other dogs of any size! We would love to have your pup stay at our home!

Jessica was a wonderful pet sitter for our 2 dachshunds Diesel and Greta! Jessica was very friendly, sent pictures and gave us the peace of mind we needed to enjoy a concert at the Peace Venter in Greenvulle, SC. We would not hesitate to use her again - awesome pet sitter!

Matthew and Heidi did an amazing job taking care of our 2 dogs for 3 weeks! Our senior dog has incontinence issues and they handled it extremely well and professional. I received regular updates without getting overwhelmed with pictures as this was quite a long stay. They always respond very timely in case of questions. I had a very good feeling leaving our dogs with them although we booked them for the first time. I will definitely book with them again.

I had a wonderful experience with Lindsay! She took excellent care of my dogs and kept me updated with regular photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that my dogs were happy, comfortable, and well loved during the stay. I truly appreciate the kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail she showed. I wouldn't hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!

My pup & I had such a great experience Edward! He made sure Jack-Jack got all the exercise, play time, attention & love he needed. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
