“All I can say is WOW. We were so at ease throughout our entire trip abroad because we knew our boy was in such good hands. Carrington treated Remy as he was her own and sent us so many wonderful updates. We cannot thank you enough!! We will definitely be using Carrington for all future boarding needs!”

“Andre and her family did a fantastic job caring for our mini bernedoodle! Andre was prompt with all communication and scheduling was easy. Her home is welcoming and Biscotti really enjoyed playing with their sweet lab and snuggling her kids. We could tell Biscotti was well-cared for when we brought her back home- she was calm and happy and jumped right back into our family routines- like she had a great vacation too! Thanks, Andre and fam! We’ll definitely book with Andre again.”

“I genuinely could not have had a better experience. The kindness and care of Dorothy and her family beats any kind of care facility by a massive margin. 10/10 for sure and I look forward to booking again!”

About: I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and breeds! I have experience with mediation management and administration and am comfortable caring for medically complex or senior pets :) I work full time but do work from home about 75% of the time at least so I am home most of the day to care for your pets! I have two friendly dogs and two dog-savvy cats who get along with everyone! I can easily crate or separate animals into separate spaces in my home if the need arises
“This was Cheatnut’s first time away from home and Kashawna made this experience amazing for him.. She took excellent care of him and gave updates and pics of how he was doing.. Very nice family and also very knowledgeable.. Thanks again and I will definitely use her in the future”

“Becky and Stan are simply the best! They are our go-to sitters for our dog because we know we can enjoy the peace of mind that our dog is being well taken care of and spoiled!”

“Brianna took such great care of Quincy. I didn’t have to worry about his well being while out of town. I received pictures and videos of Quincy that put me at ease. I’ve already booked another boarding with Brianna. That shows how much I trust her with my prized possession. Quincy is family.”

“Lindsey was the best dog sitter we could have found and we are more than happy with her service! Our 2 dogs were there for one week and she took great care of them while sending comprehensive updates every day. I loved all the cute pictures she took and I felt she was very reliable and professional and has lots of experience with different dogs. She handled the issues with our senior dog very well. I would book her again!”

“Rachel watched Shadow for a second time recently. We had to unexpectedly move up our reservation and ended up extending on the other end as well and she was happy and willing to make the adjustment last minute. We love that someone is home all day with Shadow (what he’s used to at our home) and Shadow gets along great with Dax. He comes home with a hangover from the fun he’s had! And is always a better listener to commands when he comes home as well. They also send great photos, Shadow always seems to be smiling or passed out from play and they are very responsive to questions. We will continue to use them in the future.”

About: New to rover, but not new to sitting! I’ve cared for animals my whole life, including many years with my own cat through every stage, into her senior years. We've helped care for dogs for friends and family, focusing on fun and comfort, and are hoping to care for others! Though not current pet owners ourselves, we enjoy having animals in the home and aim to provide a safe and loving environment for every fur-baby we care for. Being home throughout most days of the week allows pet care to fit very naturally into our daily routine. Pets receive regular potty breaks, consistent feeding, playtime, and plenty of supervision throughout the day. We have a family home environment, therefore we only accept pets who are comfortable around children. A structured routine works especially well for pets who thrive on consistency, and we only take one pet at a time which allows for focused attention and care. In our home, your fur-baby will be cared for in a structured, family oriented setting where they can feel safe and settled. We aim to follow each pet’s normal schedule as closely as possible, including feeding times, potty breaks, exercise, and rest. A large fenced yard provides plenty of space for supervised roaming, play, and outdoor time throughout the day. For safety, we ask that pets be up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick prevention before boarding or daycare stays. For drop in visits, the focus is on helping pets stay relaxed and cared for in their own familiar space. Each visit includes attention, fresh water, feeding if needed, potty breaks or playtime, and close attention to behavior and overall well being.

“Mary and her husband Larry were incredible. She took amazing care of our puppy and kept us updated the entire time we were gone. We would not hesitate twice to leave Cooper in her care again. Thank you!”

About: I have cared for many dogs throughout childhood into adulthood. I decided to start offering my services as our golden retriever passed away almost a year ago. This reminded me of how much joy and comfort dogs bring into our lives and how important it is to make sure they feel that same love and care in return! I work M-F 8am to 5pm but my Friday night, Saturday and Sundays are open to dog sitting! I love going on neighborhood walks and hikes and would love for your dog to join me. I have a fenced in back yard and do not have any other pets, so your pup can run around and sniff in the yard as much as they want.
“Karen and Lucas were great with my pups! They spent a lot of time together, went on walks, and roamed the yard throughout the day getting plenty of time to be out and about or just chill and get scratches. She sent lots of pictures while I was away, and the pups came home happy!”

“Kelly is such a pleasant home away from home. The updates give such assurance that my PJ is happy! He has a new fur BFF - and her family is simply adorable. She’s definitely on the rebook list.”

“Britney and her family took such great care of Homer. They loved him like their own. Britney is very communicative and flexible. Homer enjoyed playing with their dogs and sweet children. I will definitely board with Britney again.”

“Matthew and Heidi were extremely patient with Daisy. She was unexpectedly nervous but they provided a wonderful environment and adapted to her needs. I’m very grateful for their loving care and kindness.”

“Andrea kindly agreed to board my senior Chihuahua mix on very short notice when I had a sudden dogsitting need arise! She was incredibly warm and professional, and I felt very comfortable leaving Hamlet with her. She texted me pictures and updates during his stay, and when I picked him up, he seemed very relaxed and happy. I would definitely book with Andrea again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
