“Julie and her family are a perfect fit for my cat. He immediately went to exploring his area. Julie was always in contact and sent the best pictures. It shows she truly loves fur babies. Scar was so happy there. He loved his stay. I will absolutely use Julie again.”

“We were so happy to have Jessica take care of our little dog. She is so sweet and gentle with her. Winnie took to her immediately. It was a long stay of eight nights and Jessica made us feel confident that Winnie was being well taken care of. We appreciated everything she did for Winnie and wouldn't hesitate to rebook with her again in the future.”

“Abby and Dustin were such caring and obvious pet lovers from the very first interaction! They asked thoughtful questions and made sure they understood all of our dog’s needs and her routines. They updated me frequently with pictures of my dog having the best time! I felt totally confident in their ability to care for her and provide her with a safe and loving home away from home. We will definitely be back! It was an overall awesome experience, and I highly recommend them.”

“Sarah kept my older chihuahua, Lola, who has become anxious at the kennel. I knew Lola was in good hands when Sarah said she could sleep in her bed at night. She sent pictures and updates everyday. Excellent experience. I highly recommend Sarah and Linus.”

“Alex and her sweet family took wonderful care of our 8 year old Beagle. He was living his best life, getting plenty of love, naps on the back porch, and playing with the family. She sent us lots of pics to keep us in the loop which our boys loved to see while we were away. I would highly recommend Alex and will definitely be reaching out again in the future!”

“Chino was well taken care of while I was away. Chino is shy and when I picked her up she did not seem shy at all with them, especially with Shannon's lovely daughter. I would recommend her and she also has a privacy fence surrounding her backyard, which put me at ease also.I would definitely ask for her services again!”

“Margery was wonderful! She gave our fur baby a lot of love and was patient with him when he was having anxiety from being in a new place. She provided daily updates and pictures. I recommend her to anyone looking for a home away from home!”

“It was the first time I had left my 2 beloved dogs anywhere, and I was so lucky to have found Jen. She was always sending me updates and pictures and was very patient with my anxiety about leaving them for a whole week. They were free to roam about the house and loved the enclosed porch. They received a lot of love and attention and I will definitely be taking them back!”

“Alyssa was awesome! Kept me updated with both of my girls along with lots of photos. They were fully content and had lots of different toys to play with. She treats them like family. Totally recommend her to watch my girls again.”

“I loved that we kept in contact through the weekend. This was my girls (2 Chihuahuas) first time ever being away from me. They have always stayed with my family but since moving to a new state, I don't know anyone. After meeting her, I felt comfortable with leaving my baby girls. She communicated very well and sent me a picture of my girls. Thank you so much Karen.”

“Courtney was friendly and communicative throughout the whole stay. She sent daily updates and photos, which I loved, and always responded quickly whenever I reached out. I’d definitely book with her again and would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter. Murphy was so happy when I picked her up - you could tell she was well cared for!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Greer
Michelle was wonderful! I was nervous about leaving a puppy under 5 months old for the first time but it turned out I had no reason to worry. Michelle understood that it can be stressful and she was so reassuring and loving. She sent pictures and videos every day. Every day! I knew my puppy was having a great time and my only concern was that he might not want to come home! You can tell how much Michelle cares about the dogs, hers and the ones she is boarding.
Nicole was amazing! I know I have a high maintenance dog because of the breed, him not being neutered and trying to mark everywhere, and having a very anxious and very attached kind of personality. I left a very detailed and lengthy message for her prior to dropping my little man off about everything I could think of that might make the experience easier for both of them. And not only did she adhere to everything I asked her to do, but she exceeded well above my expectations of what my idea of a sitter should do and be! I also would like to mention that the day I was supposed to drop my pup off, we were dealing with a severe ice storm that had made the roads very treacherous and businesses close. It was a nightmare getting my rental car and my drop off times continued to change because of it. Nicole very easily could have canceled on me or told me to take a hike. Instead, she put my mind at ease and told me to just get there when I got there, and safely. She is super flexible and easy going and I could not ask for a better person to take care of what I consider as a family member! She updated my fiance and I often with pictures, and even introduced our little man to a dog park- something I was always nervous about doing because of his adhd and inability to stay focused very long on certain things. She also was very flexible with my pickup time as I was driving back from a 10-hour trip and was unsure of my arrival time. I look forward to booking future stays with Nicole! Y'all are crazy if you book anybody else!

Regan was wonderful with our dog, Paisley! She was incredibly accommodating to Paisley’s needs and kept us in the loop with daily updates and photos, which we really appreciated. Communication was easy and consistent, and we felt confident knowing Paisley was in great hands. We’d definitely book with Regan again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
