“Always sends lots and lots of pictures. You can’t help but to be at ease when your pet is with Cristina. Pet parents need that even more that real children in my opinion because pets can’t talk, right? Love Cristina and her fam!”

“Lucia and Michel took such great care of my little Tater while I was traveling out of the country! Their updates were informative and reassuring that Tater, as an elderly lil man was acclimating to their lovely home. When he was having a potential allergic reaction to a bee sting, they sprung into action as if he was their own caring for him. I was so grateful for their caring attention to my baby! I hope to use them again in the future and would highly recommend!🐶❤️”

“Vanessa was absolutely wonderful with my Terk. She kept me posted with updates and pictures while I was away. I came home to a happy pup who had a blast with her pup as well. I will definitely be taking Vanessa as a sitter in the future. Not only was she great with Terk but so pleasant to communicate with.”

About: Dogs are my absolute passion. I grew up in New York and later moved to Puerto Rico, where I actually ran my own neighborhood animal rescue from ages 8 to 11. Since moving to North Carolina and South Carolina, I have continued working with non-profits and animal rescues. I have hands-on experience with dogs of every size, from tiny puppies to gentle giants, and I want to make sure every pet feels happy, safe, and loved. I have a highly flexible schedule that allows me to put your pet first. I am home throughout the day to provide frequent potty breaks, fresh water, and plenty of attention. Your dog will never be left alone for long periods. I am always available for structured playtime, and I customize my daily routine to match whatever schedule your pup is used to at home. We live in a clean, smoke-free apartment with my sweet, small Shih Tzu who loves making new friends! Because my young brother lives with us, safety is our top priority. My mom and I work as a team to closely supervise all pet interactions at all times. Your pet is welcome on our furniture and bed, and we take regular leashed walks around the neighborhood for plenty of exercise.
“Pete (James) & Sofia were great! They watched my yorkipoo for 10+ days and treated him like a family member. The integrated him into their daily routine - he "supervised" work from his favorite cushion, played endless rounds of fetch with his teddy, and went on adventures to Unity Park and the Swamp Rabbit Trail. He even became walking buddies with their cat, Motley, and got to tag along for errands to Lowe's and road trip adventures. Strong communication. Pete sent daily updates with Christmas-card-worthy photos. When my dog ran just a couple of meals short on his specialty kibble, Pete went above and beyond by researching safe, poultry-free grocery store alternatives and picking them up seamlessly. They learned all his little quirks, from his morning routine of waking up for tummy rubs to snuggling under his blanket. I had total peace of mind and cannot recommend them highly enough!”

“Matthew and Heidi were really easy to contact and booking was a breeze. When reaching out to them they were quick and responsive and even sent us a picture of our pup.”

“Stephanie was great with our puppy! She was available last minute which was a huge help for us. She communicated with us and sent us picture updates throughout his stay. Highly recommend using her!!”

About: I have an 11 year old rescued and very mellow plott hound dog. I have been watching friends dogs for over 5 years and have no issues with any type of dog in my past experiences. I work from home so I am able to take your dog to the bathroom and walks to unity park throughout the day. Your dog will be in good hands and it will be an enjoyable day for them I work from home and will have a relative easy way to drop off your pet. Your pet will go on at least 2 walks per day and go outside to the bathroom at least 3-4 times a day and more if needed. I have one dog and we will be in an apartment by ourselves. Have plenty of room for 1-2 additional dogs. I can communicate at mostly anytime of the day if any issues arise. Your pet will have a safe space inside and I do have an enclosed balcony if they would like to sunbathe.

“Judy and her family were so easy and fun to work with! Our pup was so worn out from playing with her boys! I really appreciated that she actually sent us a picture and update everyday on how Misha was doing. Would definitely recommend Judy!”

“We are glad that we entrusted our dog to Megan.Thank you for your concern and kindness. We will be happy to use Megan's services in the future and recommend them to our friends.”

About: I have grooming, training, & boarding experience. I’m experienced in administering medications; pills, eye drops, shots, etc. Animals are my peace so I’d love to give a peace of mind to others😊 I’m available full time, there are currently 6 dogs & 2 cats in my house & the pups get outside about 3-5 times a day depending on the weather. I also have a 3 year old whos with me 3 days out of the week. I have a fenced in yard, all of my pups & my sisters are crated when not supervised. I would prefer crates brought when staying with me just for safety reasons! & if I were to watch your pup in your hone they’d get the same love & care they receive from you😊
“Lauren was super friendly and very accommodating! She kept me updated and sent lots of pictures. Would highly recommend and will be reaching out again next time I leave town!”

“Hannah was very communicative during the booking process and throughout my dog’s stay with consistent photos and updates. My dog had just undergone minor surgery and she provided loving care while he was still on medication and sporting a cone.”

“Amanda and Sean are THE BEST. They went above and beyond caring for our pup while we were out of the country for 10 days. They sent regular updates and photos of walks and snuggles, and even took our pup to the vet when he wasn’t feeling well. We are so grateful!!”

“Julie is amazing! Very compassionate with my senior dog. I think Piper would move in with her if it was an option. Loved the communication and pictures throughout the stay. Will definitely book again! Thank you!”

Jay was an excellent dog sitter. He took care of our dog like she was his own. He sent frequent updates and photos to let us know how she was doing. He was easy to communicate with and very professional. Would recommend him to anyone, especially small breed owners.

If I could give more than five stars I would! John and Margaret are amazing dog sitters and we are so blessed that we found them. We left our dog with them for eight nights while we visited our daughter out west. They did an amazing job of communicating with us and caring for our dog. I’m not sure our dog wanted to come home with us once we picked him up ha ha We would absolutely recommend using them and can’t wait to use them again myself.

Margery took fantastic care of our furbaby, Dora! She communicated clearly and quickly, provided updates while we were out of town, and took Dora for walks at some of her favorite parks and places. We will definitely keep Margery in mind the next time we need someone to watch Dora. Thanks Margery!

Christina was extremely communicative and easy to work with! My chihuahua mix stayed with her for a little under a week and seemed to have had a blast. Nice big fenced in yard, perfect for playing and sun-bathing! Would highly recommend Christina and will be re-booking with her.

Anna was amazing with my two girls. I myself was extremely anxious leaving my girls with a stranger, especially when I haven’t been away from one of them since I rescued her and wasn’t sure how she would be. Both also have attachment anxiety. Both warmed up to Anna and her husband almost instantly, and I felt comfort when I left them for a work trip. I got updates throughout the day, and pictures showing my girls having fun and relaxing. I highly recommend Anna, and will use her again in the future if I ever need someone to watch my girls for me.

We had such a wonderful experience leaving our puppy, Winnie, with Charlie and Jaylin for a week while our family was away on vacation. Leaving a young dog for the first time can be nerve wracking, but they immediately put us at ease. They provided regular updates, photos, and communication throughout her stay, which allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our trip knowing she was safe, happy, and well cared for. It was obvious from every interaction that they genuinely love dogs and treat them like family. Winnie came home happy, confident, and clearly benefited from the structure and attention she received while she was there. We are so grateful for the care they gave her and wouldn't hesitate to trust them with Winnie again in the future. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
