“Anna was amazing with my two girls. I myself was extremely anxious leaving my girls with a stranger, especially when I haven’t been away from one of them since I rescued her and wasn’t sure how she would be. Both also have attachment anxiety. Both warmed up to Anna and her husband almost instantly, and I felt comfort when I left them for a work trip. I got updates throughout the day, and pictures showing my girls having fun and relaxing. I highly recommend Anna, and will use her again in the future if I ever need someone to watch my girls for me.”

“Megan is amazing! Our pup was so happy to see her again and from the pictures it looks like she had so much fun! Megan even gave us the sweetest handmade gift because we were going out of town for our wedding! :)”

“Cristina was absolutely wonderful with our senior girl! She sent lots of photos and updates throughout our trip, which gave us so much peace of mind. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a smile and could immediately tell our pup was in caring hands. Cristina was patient, kind, and attentive to our old girl’s needs, and we truly did not worry about her for a single moment while we were away. We are so grateful to have found someone we trust completely, and now we’re actually looking forward to planning more trips knowing our dog will be so well cared for. Highly recommend!”

“I loved that we kept in contact through the weekend. This was my girls (2 Chihuahuas) first time ever being away from me. They have always stayed with my family but since moving to a new state, I don't know anyone. After meeting her, I felt comfortable with leaving my baby girls. She communicated very well and sent me a picture of my girls. Thank you so much Karen.”

“Judy was an amazing sitter for our pups! She has an large yard for them to run around in and she gave them so much love and attention. We have a senior dog that requires oral medication and she was very knowledgeable on how to take care of him. She sent pictures regularly as well. We highly recommend Judy and will be using her again!”

About: I grew up on a farm surrounded by cats, dogs, horses, cows so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I’m comfortable with pets of all ages, from playful puppies to sweet seniors. Pet care fits really easily into my routine. I work during the day, but I have free time at lunch, after work, and even early mornings for drop-ins or walks. I’m also around most weekends! Whether I’m in your home or caring for your pet during a walk or drop-in, I follow your routines closely so everything feels familiar.
“Stephanie was so kind and caring! She was very easy to communicate with and kept me updated with pictures of my pup throughout the stay. I felt at ease knowing that my pup was in good hands! I would definitely book with her again.”

“Hannah was very communicative during the booking process and throughout my dog’s stay with consistent photos and updates. My dog had just undergone minor surgery and she provided loving care while he was still on medication and sporting a cone.”

About: I have an 11 year old rescued and very mellow plott hound dog. I have been watching friends dogs for over 5 years and have no issues with any type of dog in my past experiences. I work from home so I am able to take your dog to the bathroom and walks to unity park throughout the day. Your dog will be in good hands and it will be an enjoyable day for them I work from home and will have a relative easy way to drop off your pet. Your pet will go on at least 2 walks per day and go outside to the bathroom at least 3-4 times a day and more if needed. I have one dog and we will be in an apartment by ourselves. Have plenty of room for 1-2 additional dogs. I can communicate at mostly anytime of the day if any issues arise. Your pet will have a safe space inside and I do have an enclosed balcony if they would like to sunbathe.
“Julie is amazing! Very compassionate with my senior dog. I think Piper would move in with her if it was an option. Loved the communication and pictures throughout the stay. Will definitely book again! Thank you!”

About: Dogs are my absolute passion. I grew up in New York and later moved to Puerto Rico, where I actually ran my own neighborhood animal rescue from ages 8 to 11. Since moving to North Carolina and South Carolina, I have continued working with non-profits and animal rescues. I have hands-on experience with dogs of every size, from tiny puppies to gentle giants, and I want to make sure every pet feels happy, safe, and loved. I have a highly flexible schedule that allows me to put your pet first. I am home throughout the day to provide frequent potty breaks, fresh water, and plenty of attention. Your dog will never be left alone for long periods. I am always available for structured playtime, and I customize my daily routine to match whatever schedule your pup is used to at home. We live in a clean, smoke-free apartment with my sweet, small Shih Tzu who loves making new friends! Because my young brother lives with us, safety is our top priority. My mom and I work as a team to closely supervise all pet interactions at all times. Your pet is welcome on our furniture and bed, and we take regular leashed walks around the neighborhood for plenty of exercise.
“Rebecca and her husband were amazing. I am new to Rover and I felt so comfortable leaving my fur baby with them on short notice. They are very communicative and send pictures and videos to ease your mind, even without asking! ;) they clearly love dogs and they have a wonderful home to host your pup in. Rest assured your baby will be spoiled.”

“Britney and her family took such great care of Homer. They loved him like their own. Britney is very communicative and flexible. Homer enjoyed playing with their dogs and sweet children. I will definitely board with Britney again.”

“Lindsay was incredible! I received so many pics and updates of Max during his stay- it looked like he had a better vacation than I did! He was so well cared for, and we will definitely be repeat customers!”

“Nothing but praises to sing for Julia and fam. They took great care of our cats. We received pictures and videos while we were away. Julia was very accommodating and understanding when I was late for the drop-off time. Thank you again!”

“Fabienne was fantastic with my Ginny girl! She sent lots of updates and pictures so I could follow along. Very good communication and she is very sweet and caring. Will definitely use again!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Greenville
John & Marg treated our sweet Daisy like their own! Daisy took to them from day one (during our initial meet and greet) and had a great time during her stay. They have the perfect set-up with a fenced in backyard, so Daisy was able to easily get outside when needed. Communication was great and they provided plenty of updates & pictures. Great experience and highly recommend John & Marg!

Christina was extremely communicative and easy to work with! My chihuahua mix stayed with her for a little under a week and seemed to have had a blast. Nice big fenced in yard, perfect for playing and sun-bathing! Would highly recommend Christina and will be re-booking with her.

Jay was great with our dog Bella. She’s an anxious dog, and we loved that he worked from home and was with her a lot of the time. He updated us frequently via text with photos and he took extra special care of her on the 4th of July with fireworks to make sure she wasn’t too scared and that she was able to go for a walk beforehand. Will definitely book with him again!

Pete (James) & Sofia were great! They watched my yorkipoo for 10+ days and treated him like a family member. The integrated him into their daily routine - he "supervised" work from his favorite cushion, played endless rounds of fetch with his teddy, and went on adventures to Unity Park and the Swamp Rabbit Trail. He even became walking buddies with their cat, Motley, and got to tag along for errands to Lowe's and road trip adventures. Strong communication. Pete sent daily updates with Christmas-card-worthy photos. When my dog ran just a couple of meals short on his specialty kibble, Pete went above and beyond by researching safe, poultry-free grocery store alternatives and picking them up seamlessly. They learned all his little quirks, from his morning routine of waking up for tummy rubs to snuggling under his blanket. I had total peace of mind and cannot recommend them highly enough!

We had such a wonderful experience leaving our puppy, Winnie, with Charlie and Jaylin for a week while our family was away on vacation. Leaving a young dog for the first time can be nerve wracking, but they immediately put us at ease. They provided regular updates, photos, and communication throughout her stay, which allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our trip knowing she was safe, happy, and well cared for. It was obvious from every interaction that they genuinely love dogs and treat them like family. Winnie came home happy, confident, and clearly benefited from the structure and attention she received while she was there. We are so grateful for the care they gave her and wouldn't hesitate to trust them with Winnie again in the future. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
