“My goodness !! Mary was incredible to our Charlotte. She went above and beyond everything!! Sent pictures, gave updates , fussed over her , took her on walks and treated her with such love. It made it so easy to leave her . She was happy when we dropped her off and happy when we picked her up !!! Hope we can get in again if she’s not booked for the rest of the summer !!!!”

“Amber was amazing! Definitely a dog lover. ¡¡¡¡ 5️⃣⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!!! She keeps you constantly updated on your doggy and takes care of them as if they were her own. “Meghan was an awesome dog sitter for my two dogs. She made me feel comfortable leaving them in her care. I would definitely recommend her to anyone in need of a dog sitter!”

“Alyssa took great care of my dogs. I left my two dogs with Alyssa overnight while I went out of town. A few days before, we did a meet & greet to make sure my dogs were friendly with her dog. During their stay, She sent me updates and photos of my dogs which I appreciated. Everything went very well, and I highly recommend Alyssa.”

“Kimi made our trip because we knew Moose was going to be in the best hands! This is our second time having Kimi watch Moose and he always comes back happy! She sends pics and videos daily and always gives an update as well! Very responsive with any questions or comments! She’s a dog lover and it shows!”

“Came thru on short notice and was the perfect spot for my little guy. Her fenced in yard and limit of one Rover meant Porkchop had plenty of attention. Will definitely be a repeat customer.. ?????.. 5Paws up!”
“We were so happy to have Jessica take care of our little dog. She is so sweet and gentle with her. Winnie took to her immediately. It was a long stay of eight nights and Jessica made us feel confident that Winnie was being well taken care of. We appreciated everything she did for Winnie and wouldn't hesitate to rebook with her again in the future.”

“McKenzie was great with our two dogs,Buddy and Ellie. She was very accommodating and patient since one has anxiety. We got daily updates and occasional pics as well. She was just what we were looking for to care for our dogs when we go on vacation. We are so happy we found her and worth the extra travel time for us. We already booked Buddy and Ellie with her for our next trip. :)”

“Abby and Dustin were phenomenal! We were nervous leaving Sleepy with someone else, but we were quickly put at ease by the frequent updates and photos. Sleepy looked like he wasn’t missing a beat once he got acclimated. We can’t thank them enough for taking care of our precious fur-baby!”

“Margery was wonderful! She gave our fur baby a lot of love and was patient with him when he was having anxiety from being in a new place. She provided daily updates and pictures. I recommend her to anyone looking for a home away from home!”

“Max seemed very happy and well taken care of. I think he enjoyed playing with their dog Sammy and being around children. Thanks for taking such good care of him, see you next time!”

“She is simply the best Kristen kept me updated on my baby’s progress and how she was doing I got daily pictures and text simply the best I am definitely using Kristen to watch my baby girl for as long as she is available THANK YOU KRISTEN!!!!”

“Rebecca is absolutely AMAZING! She took such great care of my sweet Etta and sent tons of adorable photos of her playing with the other dogs—Etta looked like she was having the time of her life. She even ate really well, which is rare when she’s away from home. Honestly, I’m a little embarrassed to admit that Etta seemed sad to leave all her new friends and come home to just me, haha! Rebecca is incredibly communicative, her home is spotless, and Etta smelled so good when she came back—I genuinely thought she had been given a bath, but it turns out that was just the lovely scent of Rebecca’s home. Also, her partner is just as kind and welcoming, which made me feel even more at ease. I truly can’t recommend Rebecca enough. She’s the best!”

“Tara was great with Trapper. She was super flexible and easy to work with and sent several pics so we knew he was having fun and being well taken care of. We weren’t sure if he’d be ok playing with her dogs, but they were super sweet and immediately accepted him as part of the group. He had a blast while we were away.”

About: I have had dogs my entire life. In my adult life, I have raised and trained 3 dogs. They are very well behaved and friendly. I am currently working from home Monday through Thursdays. So is my husband. We both love dogs and can give them a lot of attention. I have 2 friendly dogs and a very large laundry room if they would rather be by themselves. I have a large fenced in yard that they will have access to at all times besides bedtime.
“Absolutely wonderful I would recommend her to anyone! Our pup had so much fun with her other dog and the fenced in yard was so large! Shireen was very accommodating as we had an emergency and needed her to be watched a couple more days! I would recommend her and will absolutely be using her again! She kept great contact and sent lots of pictures to keep us updated!”

“Summer was great -- so reliable and responsive! We were visiting relatives for a football game at Clemson and we had our dog in tow. Summer watched our dog for the whole afternoon and was very understanding about the late evening pick up, given how long night football games can go. Summer sent photos and took great care of our guy, and he seemed really comfortable with her. Definitely would recommend her!”

“Carrington was amazing with Lulu. We boarded our Lulu with her and took great care of her. She sent us updates each day. Highly recommend and will use Carrington again to watch our girl.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
