“Robin is so comforting. She is calm and compassionate with our aging pup, and we are so relieved when he is in her competent care. Robin is our first choice for caring for our sweet little man. 🐶❤️”

“Our pups were treated like royalty! Such an amazingly beautiful place for doggies. Alyssa and Brian were very communicative and sent so many great pictures to keep in touch. So happy to have found them and we will definitely use them in the future. Thanks so much!”

“I cannot express how much we appreciate Julie! She is extremely responsible, always reliable, and loves my dog like one of her own. This is the first time we did an in-home stay for our large, goofy lab. The peace of mind we have knowing he is so well taken care of is invaluable. I highly recommend Julie.”

“All I can say is that I didn’t know Georgie could possibly be more spoiled than he already was but he is and that is a good thing! Made the entire trip away perfect knowing he was being so loved. Anyone who adores their dog and considers them their baby and not just a pet, do not hesitate to trust Toni to care for them.”

“Thank you Jen for taking such great care of my pup! I could tell Pippa was instantly drawn to you during the meet and greet (which doesn’t happen with just anyone.) Through daily updates and photos, Pippa looked relaxed, happy, and most of all LOVED. I would definitely recommend Jen to anyone!”

“Laura took such good care of our dog during our trip! She sent daily pictures and updates which helped us feel at ease. She has a great yard for dogs to run around and our dog had the best time! We will definitely be using her again in the future!”

“I had such a great experience with Adaira! This was my first time leaving my kitten, and I was a little nervous, but they made me feel totally at ease. Communication was excellent from start to finish they checked in, sent photos and updates, and were quick to respond to any messages. It was clear my kitten was well cared for and comfortable the whole time. I really appreciated the extra attention and care they gave. I’d absolutely recommend Adaira to anyone looking for a compassionate pet sitter.”

“Terri has watched my pup a few times now and it's been great each time! The most recent time was for a whole week. I was concerned about finding someone who could handle a wild and not-yet fully trained puppy and Terri has been so sweet, gracious and relaxed about everything. She even sent me photo/video so I could see how Zelda was doing. I love the farm atmosphere that Terri provides. She's clearly a true animal lover and Zelda seems to enjoy spending time visiting with both the human and animal friends she's made at Terri's. So glad we found someone capable, trustworthy and kind!”

“Shadow can sometimes have a hard time with separation anxiety but he loves being at Calvin’s. He runs to the door and doesn’t look back. It gives us such peace of mind knowing that he is in the best hands while we are away. We have used Calvin multiple times over the last few months and we will definitely be using his services for our next trips as well. He sends plenty of pictures, takes him on lots of walks and even has his own treats to give Shadow.”

“Daisy did a 2-night meet and greet stay in preparation for a long stay with Diane this fall. Diane has a large, completely fenced yard which is great. She texted me pictures during Daisy’s stay, and she seemed very tuned in to Daisy’s particular needs and wants. I am glad to have a good sitter lined up now.”

“Sharon was amazing to help us when we were in need of someone to board our dog. She took him in last minute, loved on him, and went above and beyond for our boy! We are so thankful for her attentiveness and care. We will be booking with Sharon again!”

“Wow. I cannot express just how grateful we are to Joseph and Andrea. We came to Asheville for our wedding and were worried about finding our new shy pup a place to stay where he would be both cared for and comfortable. We found so much more with this duo. Morning updates about how he did, a picture, and absolute kindness and love for our dog. My only regret is that we don’t live closer to Joseph and Andrea so we could have them babysit all the time!”

“Stephanie was lovely to work with and we’ll use her again next time to watch Leo. Her communication was great, sent lots of pictures/updates, and I trusted Leo was safe in her hands. Thanks again!”

About: I have been a veterinary nurse at an AAHA accredited hospital for the last 6 years, and prior to that, worked at an additional hospital as well as a pet store with exotics. I am more than comfortable administering any method of medication, and taking care of your medical needs, special needs, or senior fur babies. I own two friendly dogs, two sassy cats, and a baby ball python myself- variety is the spice of life. If you’re looking for a medically experienced caretaker for your kids, I’m your gal! *also have grooming experience with medical needs animals I just moved to the Asheville area, so Im excited to explore around. I have just taken a M-Th veterinary position, but I still plan on working Rover into my schedule! I have two friendly dogs, who will play with dogs that want to play, ignore the ones who don’t, and will be gentle with the young and little ones. I do not have a yard, but I am very active and used to taking my large dogs for >3-4 mile walks daily.
“I left my babies for a week in the caring hands of Max and at all times I felt they were safe, loved, and well supervised. Max's laid back attitude put the doggies at ease and I'll admit, I was a little annoyed when they wouldn't come to me at pick up! LOL! That just speaks volumes about Max. I wouldn't hesitate leaving my doggies with Max again! Thank you so much!”

“My dog Georgie loved his stay! It was our first time having someone other than close family watching him. But all of that anxiety and stress went away when we met Laird and her sweet little pup. I will be booking again in the future!”

“Elizabeth was a pleasure to work with, communicative, punctual and I could tell she really enjoyed spending time with my dog. I would recommend her to anyone and I will be reaching out again!”

rayana was amazing with our pups. She took great care of them and love them while we were away. She kept us updated and sent pictures of them often, it faces us peace of mind to know they had someone who genuinely cares. I will be coming back to her again for sure.

We hired Zann to watch our dogs and were extremely happy with her service. Her communication was excellent — timely, clear updates and photos — and she took wonderful, attentive care of our pups. She was very flexible with scheduling and handled everything professionally and kindly. Highly recommend and would definitely use her again.

Heather was wonderful with Lilly. We received a ton of pictures and I could tell Lilly felt very much at home. If Heather was unsure about anything, she sent us a message instead of assuming which I very much appreciated! I would 💯use Heather again. Thanks for taking such great care of or girl.

Meg and her pup Symon are the best ! We have a anxious guy who needs some reassurance and snuggles and she knocked it out of the park on all accounts.Lamont was so happy and well cared for while we went out of town for our anniversary.Meg sent updates daily ,multiple times. She understood his anxiety and delivered medicine and helped him during a thunderstorm which is a trigger for him with no issues.Safe and happy is what we wanted and it was that and so much more ! So many a thanks !!! I was so happy for this experience for all of us.Lamont looks forward to seeing Meg and Symon again .Thanks for taking such great care of our guy and for all the handsome pictures. We couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
