“Nisa did a wonderful job taking care of Rex! She sent us pictures and videos each day. He was clearly well taken care of, her own dog was no issue to get along with, and we will gladly book Nisa in the future! I highly recommend her!”

“Elizabeth was fantastic! She kept us updated on how our dog Theo was doing (first time away from us since he was a puppy) and even included photos with his status. She took him on dailey walks and treated him with kindness. Couldn't ask for a better sitter for our kid-puppy!”

“Jacqueline and Sammy are truly exceptional—kind, attentive, and clearly passionate about caring for animals. They looked after our energetic golden collie mix while we were in Europe for five days, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. After a few not-so-great experiences with dog sitters in Asheville, we were a little nervous to be away for that long, but Jacqueline and Sammy quickly put us at ease with regular updates and photos. It was clear from the start that they genuinely wanted our dog to feel at home. They took her on multiple walks and play sessions every day, and when we returned, she was so happy and relaxed—she didn’t even want to leave! We’re incredibly grateful to have found them.”

“Fiona was the most relaxed she has ever been on pick up from a sitter so I know she was well taken care of . Terri was very prompt in answering messages . If we are ever in Asheville again I sure know who to request if we need a sitter . I highly recommend Terri .”

“Miranda was a phenomenal sitter for Stevie. She was incredibly attentive, flexible, and communicative. Overall, we could not recommend her enough and hope Stevie will be able to stay with her again one day soon!”

“Kyle was great! My sweet girl Hope is very shy, but Kyle gave me assurance that she would be well taken care of and she was. She came out of her shell and even play with their dog Lou. I highly recommend her and will use her services in the future. Thanks again Kyle, Randy and Lou!”

“Bridget was exceptional! Callie was in great hands with her. She sent regular updates and pictures. She was also accommodating and so helpful when I had a hiccup with my travel and needed to extend Callie’s stay by an extra day. We’ll definitely book with her again.”

“Both of our dogs had a great stay. Our old dog always travels with us - but she could not go on this trip. She ended up doing great! We really appreciated the messages and pictures during our trip!”

“We had a wonderful experience with KaLynn on Rover! She cared for our 10-year-old beagle for a full week while we were in Germany, and we couldn’t have asked for a better situation—especially now that he’s in his senior years. In the past, traditional boarding environments were very stressful for him. Being around too many dogs and confined to a suite would cause him to bark excessively, sometimes even losing his voice. We knew we needed something more personal and calm, and KaLynn provided exactly that. Her home environment was perfect—peaceful, welcoming, and much more like what he’s used to. She also has a beautiful, large backyard where he could safely enjoy time outside with a smaller group of dogs, which made a huge difference in his comfort level. Knowing he was in such a caring, low-stress setting gave us real peace of mind while we were away. We’re so grateful for the attention and compassion she showed him. We would highly recommend her and absolutely trust her again with our senior pup! Thank you KaLynn for caring of our boy, Copper!💙”

I have a lot of knowledge with animals for the simple fact that I have been around 100’s my entire life, from saving strays to having pets. I live in Weaverville and would love to help out with taking care of your pet or pets! I work all day but could be flexible. Im a personal trainer, my hours are 4am-2/3pm. I am available with at least a week notice. I can help on M-F and weekends with drop ins and walks. I have a yard as well as 2 friendly playful dogs. I have crates as well as separated floors that are gated off in my home that always help.
“You'll notice multiple reviews from me and this is why: I trust and appreciate Chanelle - and cannot recommend her enough. She takes care of your pet as her own. She supports you as their owner because she has been a pet owner herself. She is wonderful.”

“Ethan & Hope were excellent communicators. Our pup was well cared for and had a great time playing with the other dogs. The yard is spacious and fenced in, with a beautiful garden. Would definitely recommend!”

“Laird is a STELLAR dog sitter that we are so very grateful for: She is a caring, thorough and wonderfully communicative professional who clearly loves dogs. When we took our fur baby for a second stay, he literally jumped for joy! Thank you for treating our boy like royalty, Laird! Looking forward to another stay in the future!:)”

“Teresa is fantastic! She kept me updated with photos of Karma & Kylo, and always was sure to respond when I checked in. She took such good care of my two kitties and I will definitely be contacting her for future boarding needs! Thank you Teresa! 🖤”

“Calvin was simply amazing and took such great care of Bear! Bear got sick on day one but Calvin was extremely communicative and caring making sure he was taken care of. I felt 100% comfortable knowing Bear was in great hands with Calvin and will definitely use him again. He sent updates, pics and videos each day and even sent us home with some printed pictures of his stay as well as a new toy. I can’t recommend Calvin enough!”

“I left my babies for a week in the caring hands of Max and at all times I felt they were safe, loved, and well supervised. Max's laid back attitude put the doggies at ease and I'll admit, I was a little annoyed when they wouldn't come to me at pick up! LOL! That just speaks volumes about Max. I wouldn't hesitate leaving my doggies with Max again! Thank you so much!”

“Adaira is incredible! She is calm and open. We were prepared to meet their other two dogs and Koda then joined the pack for 10 days! We quickly built trust and understanding. She even gave him some flair on Halloween and did a photo shoot 🎃 I truly cannot recommend her services enough. Koda got to go on plenty of adventures. I am so grateful! He loves her much. He made sure to say goodbye before he hopped in the car. Being such a smart dog, I can tell how much rapport they built.”
“Jessica and John were wonderful. They welcomed my dog into their lovely home with such warmth. Communication was excellent, responsive, and easy, and their whole family treated him like one of their own. Highly recommend”

David “Albert” is fantastic with Penny and Millie. We had previously booked him for a house sit and that went quite well. This trip was the first time boarding Penny away from home and she loved it! We’ve already booked again for a longer upcoming trip. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
