Home & dog owners with private yard
My wife and I have owned dogs since 2007. We've always had two, but unfortunately our oldest dog, a dachshund, passed away after 18 years in 2024. We now only have Chico who is a friendly, social Chihuahua mix who is 14 years old. We love dogs for their playful and innocent nature, unconditional love and ability to improve our lives. We are not professional dog takers, but have an open home where your dogs can play with ours and enjoy each other’s company. Because our dogs have grown into old age, we've also grown our experience with taking care of senior dogs -- whether it's being detailed about medications or being patient on walks -- it's something we've had to do for our dogs as they've matured. Through Rover we have also had the opportunity to meet other breeds and learn multiple personalities. Each dog is unique and each experience has helped us develop our ability to understand different behaviors and needs.

Another great experience with Jose and Maria! My morkie gets so excited when we enter their neighborhood! She barely gives me a backward glance when I drop her off. She is in the best of hands and always has a great visit. Highly recommend!!

Programa
Husband works from home and wife will be the primary caretaker of the dogs during the stay, while husband provides support during the day, nights and weekends.

Seguridad, confianza y entorno
We have a big, fun yard (not fenced, but private on a hill side) and a large deck. We prefer to keep dogs inside most of the time unless they are getting sun on the deck or on a walk in our family-friendly neighborhood. We can crate dogs if desired, or dogs can roam in our home or on the deck. We have a two story home with wood floors on the first and carpet on the second. Toys are welcome. We ensure to be conscious of anything that could be lying on the floor or be a danger to the dogs.

Our dog has a natural cadence of play, eat, walk/exercise and down times. We would want the visiting dog(s) to also find a routine and feel comfortable with a cadence based on the personality. We also love to play with dogs if they have that interest and energy, but we understand if the dogs are more mature and just like a good walk.
