Terri and her husband were so SWEET to me and Ares. They have the best little farm for my dog to run around on. He had the best time staying with them and I would absolutely use her again. They are such kind people!

We had a fantastic experience with Alyssa and her husband Brian! They are sweet, welcoming, and their property is stunning and perfect for pets. They took such great care of our dog Mona and sent us so many pictures and videos throughout her stay. She had so much fun she didn’t want to leave. We would not hesitate to book with them again.

We spent the night at the Biltmore while we were in Asheville and our fur baby went to stay with Kristin. Super convenient and Izzy came back exhausted! Thank you again!

Jessica and John were amazing! My pup Ruby had so much fun with them - exploring the woods and trails outside and cuddling on the couch with their two girls! They are communicative, professional, and their love and care of dogs is evident! I had some travel delays and they were really understanding and flexible in coordinating pick up which was such a relief. Looking forward to her next stay with them!

About: I have been a veterinary nurse at an AAHA accredited hospital for the last 6 years, and prior to that, worked at an additional hospital as well as a pet store with exotics. I am more than comfortable administering any method of medication, and taking care of your medical needs, special needs, or senior fur babies. I own two friendly dogs, two sassy cats, and a baby ball python myself- variety is the spice of life. If you’re looking for a medically experienced caretaker for your kids, I’m your gal! *also have grooming experience with medical needs animals I just moved to the Asheville area, so Im excited to explore around. I have just taken a M-Th veterinary position, but I still plan on working Rover into my daily schedule! I have two friendly dogs, who will play with dogs that want to play, ignore the ones who don’t, and will be gentle with the young and little ones. I do not have a yard, but I am very active and used to taking my large dogs for >3-4 mile walks daily.

Toby had a great weekend with Ali and Penny. Ali took great care of him, gave frequent updates, and went above and beyond in her flexibility and taking care of our boy. Will definitely be asking her to watch Toby again next time I need a sitter.

Bojangles had the BEST time with Laird and her son. During the meet and great she made sure all of us were comfortable with the space. During the time she had our pup she sent plenty of pictures and communicated with us throughout the trip. Her son was so loving with Bo and it was obvious when I picked him up that he wasn't done playing yet. I think we've found a trusted sitter with Laird.

Golda and her husband were great hosts for our dog Ringo. Ringo usually gets a little nervious staying away from us but it was clear when we picked him up that he was very comfortable with their family, children and a few other dogs in the big fenced yard to play in. We will definitely use Golda again!

Miranda was great with my dog! He seemed happy and relaxed with her right away. She was great at communicating to let me know how he was doing and was very accommodating. Her fenced yard was a bonus too. I am relieved to know I have a dog sitter for next time I am in town and need a place to board my pup.

Carlina did a great job with our dog, Maddy. She checked in and sent pics. I really appreciated that it was just our dog and Carolina’s dog there - I think too many make it a stressful stay. Maddy said she was a 10/10, bed and treats were great.

Amy did a wonderful job with our dog Eo. We could tell that Eo had a great time when we picked her up evidenced by her reluctance to leave Amy's house. We will definitely be using Amy's services again and would recommend her to friends.

Lindsay’s boarding was awesome for us! She was super responsive to our out of town questions and she sent us updates and photos of Gabby during her stay. Gabby has several daily meds and there were no issues handling that. Lindsay’s dogs welcomed their guest and all got along. We travel to the area often and would use Lindsay again and 100% recommend.

The average cost for Pet Boarding in Black Mountain on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 361 sitters on Rover for Pet Boarding in Black Mountain. About 94% of Black Mountain sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
